Batter Up – GOP 2012 - Ron Paul - Soars Too Close to Top in Iowa – Found: Racists, Bizarre, Newsletters from 1990’s – Next? A rant and analysis.

One of the many documents unearthed written under Paul's name - from yidwithlid.blogspot.com

As each candidate, in turn, gets too close to the top of the polls, passing Mitt Romney for the nomination, there is a sudden “problems” with each of the candidates character and/or their past that apparently makes them unelectable. To date, eliminated at the top has been Herman Cain, who found himself assailed by women claiming he was a sex fiend (and one man claiming to be his son) - all those Chicago based/Government employed accusers are quiet, not a peep out of them now that Cain is no longer on the campaign trail. As Gingrich soared in the polls, he was taken to the woodshed by his close friends, Mitt Romney and Michelle Bachmann, throw in Ron Paul and one has a full set of candidates who apparently believe that the nastier and further from the truth opposition ads can be, the better. Newt Gingrich’s fall in the polls can be explained by these types of attacks, the most surprising from this blogs perspective coming from Ms. Bachmann, who stretched the truth thinner than a piece of plastic wrap in regards to Newt Gingrich record on Life Issues. Apparently, as a tax attorney, Bachmann must feel individual voters are clueless as to how to research bills, sponsored legislation and ratings from individual groups such as the NRA and Pro-life organizations. Gingrich is not on the top of the pro-abortion group, NARAL’s list, in fact, only one person has made the top of that list, and that would be President Obama. Hillary Clinton received a lower rating as she is not quite as abortion happy as the President.

Congressman Ron Paul, who, as New Gingrich started to fall from the spotlight ever so slightly (Pollsters actually disagree as to how far Newt Gingrich may be from clocking the heir apparent “Mitt Romney” – in some polls he’s ahead by 10 points, in others he’s now fallen behind) became a serious threat to both the national GOP and one Mitt Romney – not only in Iowa (where one cannot seriously expect Romney to win) and one in New Hampshire (where it is expected he would win) – Paul has something Romney does not, a ground game and one that is made up of more everyday people, Independents, Democrats, Students, Homemakers, Union Workers – those are Obama Voters and yes, Tea Party and Libertarian groups who otherwise might vote for: Newt Gingrich and possibly as a last resort Mitt Romney.

Time to dig for dirt on Paul: Opposition research unearthed newsletters available at Reuters, that paint a different picture of the kindly old Doctor who loves the Constitution and hates war, a man who delivers baby’s – not anymore – The newsletters obtained through Reuters appears to make the Congressman out to be not only a screaming crackpot, but a racist and anti-Semite to boot – or what is otherwise known is a man who was in keeping with his time – albeit from a conspiracy theorists point of view, along the lines of Jim Jones, however sans Kool-Aid. What is most disturbing is the manner in which Paul decided to make money on the side, selling political and financial advise through these newsletters, bearing his signature, which he apparently never saw.

Now, from a pragmatic point of view, generally speaking busy people never write their own drivel, they hire others to do it, say someone who’s in Congress or the Senate, or most businessmen from that era - usually writing was consigned to someone such as a secretary – who would have access to everything, including a signature stamp. This is how things were done, and are still done in businesses and in government today – if one thinks most of the elite write their own material, think again.

But what is irresponsible and obviously dangerous is that this went on for years, without Congressman Paul ever noticing that the materials going out under his name were not only erratic in nature but downright disgusting. That’s the big story, since Paul insists he didn’t write the newsletters, he allowed them to go out under his name – the proverbial “you know what” does roll uphill.

Mitt Romney should now be cleared for takeoff.

The man who the Obama Campaign wants to run as the GOP nominee more than any other due to the mountains of opposition research they have obtained and one who is, also, far from squeaky clean, given his “Ken Doll” appearance.

One problem, now that the GOP can dismiss Ron Paul, the other candidates are starting to rise in the polls (granted, out of literally hundreds of polling taking place) one did find Michel Bachmann tied with Paul and ahead of Romney in Iowa as of yesterday – Bachmann who had been near the top, and had taken a nose dive, apparently is being given a second look. What happens when the negative GOP candidates (Paul, Romney (and Bachmann is in that group) need to turn their attention now to Michelle?!

She’s already been assailed, survived, and is fighting for her political life – like a girl, which in this book, is a positive. The negative was the outright distortion of the truth on the part of Bachmann regarding Gingrich’s record. Although this blogger may think Gingrich is the best possible choice out of the bunch, it is also clear that there is an independent streak that allows for adjustments, when a candidate does wrong, they get zinged. Simple.

It is no secret that Romney is going to have horrific problems with the nomination. It does not matter how many Bushes’ he drags out of retirement, or even Bob Dole (who despises Gingrich for so many things, specifically as an opponent in the 1996 race against Clinton, one which Dole stood zero chance of winning).
In other words, this has become what is normal in American Politics, a cat/or dog fight to the finish.

With Mitt “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” Romney, hoping against hope that this time, he’ll carry the day.

One might ask why this bloggers is holding out on Romney as last choice in the contest for ABO (Anybody But Obama) – simple, this blog is written from Massachusetts from the mind of someone who is less Republican, less Democrat, and extremely sick and tired of politics as usual in this nation. Whether one is a Democrat or a Republican if one does a great job, one deserves kudos, however in Romney’s case, one gets the impression one is not alone – which is why this blog has called, worse, begged, polling firms to take it to Massachusetts and match up the current field of GOP candidates. One can hazard to guess that Romney might not win Massachusetts.

Why the distaste for the way Romney Governed? He did Cross the Aisle – he has that to his record, however, he did so by abandoning his conservative principals, whereas on the serious candidate on a wish list – the following individuals did not: Sarah Palin, managed to govern and get things done in Alaska, by working with both Democrats and Republicans and kicking both to the curb when they placed party before people, Newt Gingrich, who is the villain of the piece, was in the same mold, only longer, as a legislature his push and pulled those Democrats and Republicans together, in the Congress and in the Senate, while waging a campaign to bring Bill Clinton to his point of view. He succeeded. Its history, one can look it up. The last individual on my list has never been in this race, but, one might note, there is always hope and that is one Hillary Clinton. She had a very interesting record as Senator, one which would disqualify her from an A Rating with most of the fringe groups and fringe members of Congress (Reid and Pelosi come to mind) – one has to ask, and be honest, would Clinton have allowed Reid and Pelosi to run them around? (She has a record too, one which is not ridiculous, but to be applauded).

Therefore, since two of the candidates that would be acceptable and run this nation with an eye towards fiscal conservatism, military strength, and would be able to cross the aisle to get things done, shoving members of their own party out of the way – that leaves one standing. Yes, Gingirch is pompous, because he’s smart, yes he won’t run negatives ads, because he is smart (in the long run, those negative ads will sink a candidate), and he hasn’t to date, done the one thing the pundits suggested: imploded. He’s kept his wits, and even manages a few zingers now again, especially against Romney, who, if he would debate Gingrich on negative Campaigning (which he refused to do), he would lose, he lost in the debates with Ted Kennedy when he ran for the Massachusetts Senate, and one can anticipate he will lose those debates should he become the nominee – in this opinion, if Romney is the nominee, obviously he will be the ABO candidate, however, those in the voting booth will have hard time decide ding which way to go, one Moderate or the other. It will make no difference - he will govern the nation just like he governed Massachusetts – again someone please poll Massachusetts.

The concept that Romney will be the given nominee, is a not yet determined, because first he has to get past the Carolina’s, and to the best of this knowledge, Fred Thompson is not available to run against Gingrich/Huckabee/McCain – so, the fate of the nation literally rests on the good people of the great state of South Carolina, followed by those states in the south and Midwest, that drove Romney from the race in 2008.

Ron Paul, it was fun while it lasted – maybe. Paul’s followers are ready to forgive, so if Paul pulls out Iowa and then New Hampshire (still a possibility regardless of the newsletter find), the individual who wins the South Carolina Race will be perceived as the most viable candidate, and that is still to be determined.

2012 GOP Update: McClatchy Marist Polling: Obama One Term, Palin, Unannounced Gains 20 Points, In Statistical Tie With Obama - Analysis

Palin in Statistical Tie with Obama - Madame President? Image NY Daily News

Although the cross-tabs are not yet available for the latest poll from McClatchy-Marist, one of the least conservative of pollsters, the chances for President Obama to be re-elected in 2012 are growing dimmer by the day. In the initial release by McClatchy Entitled: “Poll Obama Expected to Lose But Still Tops Any Republican One on One” is somewhat disingenuous when one factors in the margin of error at 5.5%. What is leading headlines yesterday and today is the following from McClatchy :

“The biggest gain came for Palin, the former Alaska governor who hasn't yet announced whether she'll jump into the fast-changing race for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
After trailing Obama by more than 20 percentage points in polls all year, the new national survey, taken Sept. 13-14, found her trailing the president by just 5 points, 49-44 percent. The key reason: She now leads Obama among independents, a sharp turnaround.”

Additionally this poll found that both Palin and Giuliani jump to the top tier if they are factored in the poll, with Giuliani showing the highest score against Obama. Currently, Perry, Romney and Bachmann lead with Republicans. Which begs the question – which demographic was used to calculate the overall approval among Republicans and Republican leaning independents in this poll? A Fox News Poll which was taken last month showed Palin losing in a Republican primary, and Giuliani topping all contenders, however, that poll included Democrats in the equation, the demographic which outweighed the Republican sample by a significant margin. When one took the % of Democrats out of the sample, the statistics changed dramatically, giving Palin the lead. One must wait until McClatchy Marist releases the cross tabs to truly parse this poll.

This is where the Republican’s stand in this poll against the President:
Giuliani beats Obama by 49 to 42, Romney is behind by 46 to 44, Perry behind by 50 to 41, Bachmann by 53 to 40 and Palin by 49 to 44*, which, should either Palin or Giuliani enter the race at any time between now and November of 2012, they would be in a position to start from a top tier position. What is interesting the poll also states that both Giuliani and Palin do not fare well with Republicans, similar to the Fox poll which used the same language in the release, yet again, in the cross tabs, included Democrats in the sample.

Additionally out of 1042 samples, 825 are registered voters, those two samples were combined, out of the 825 registered voters, 317 of those surveyed were Republican or Republican leaning Independents the balance, one might suggest were 508 Democrats and Democrat Leaning Independents or a 38% more Democrats and Democrat leaning Independents than Republicans’ which is hardly representative of voter registration nationwide. Moreover, if the poll is slightly skewed demographically by question, what is obvious is that among Democrats, Obama is losing significant ground, and in addition, those Democrats and Democrat Leaning Independents, along with Independents in general (where Palin leads Obama) one would suggest in a national match-up, Palin and Giuliani would be the most obvious choices to win the General.

However, lost in the polling, is the suggestion that Republican’s and those leading Independents, who happen to prefer Palin and Giuliani not enter the race, followed by both of the aforementioned either trouncing or within the margin of error, when it comes to a general election.

Polls at this point, of course, and the candidates mentioned are hardly an indicator of who might win the Republican nomination in the long run. Pundits now theorize that Republican’s will vote for the candidate they feel will have the strongest ability to beat the Incumbent. In addition, one must look at the primary ground game in three key states (which this year, may be a moot point) Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina have traditionally been the bellwether as to who will eventually win the nomination. However, (current polls aside) should Palin enter the race, and take Iowa, with Romney taking New Hampshire, it will go to South Carolina, where, either Perry or Palin could end up gaining ground, should Perry win in the Carolina’s, it would setup a Super Tuesday scenario where the candidate that is best positioned to pull ahead, and has the best grassroots organization to begin with, would be considered the front runner, and if those states are split, it would continue to the next Month and so on, until a clear leader were established.

If one looks at the 2008 presidential race, Romney was out of the race by Super Tuesday, leaving McCain in the lead, and Huckabee, holding on for several months in order to a) give the voters a chance, and b) keep the Republican brand in the “news”.

The next debate will be a Fox debate held tomorrow night, September 22nd, 2011, and it is doubtful that out of the nine candidates running, a “thinning of the herd” will take place. At most, one would think the current field (plus one or two) may hang in until well into November. The press and even those who wish that a certain not yet announced candidates who are, apparently, able to clean Obama’s clock in a national election, would do so sooner than later, can afford to wait.

From this blogs perspective, the “non-candidate” in this poll most likely to run would be Palin, whose announcement into the race would bring to bear a massive grassroots organization, that might be difficult for other candidates to amass, specifically those in the current top tier. In addition, unlike the Romney/McCain/Huckabee contest in 2008, Huckabee came out of Iowa like a freight train, and then lagged in fundraising and organization; however, it was his grassroots support that was pivotal in keep the former Arkansas Governor in the race to the bitter end. Palin, unlike Huckabee, is not shy about fundraising, which would change the dynamics of the 2012 race, especially against Mitt Romney, who does well among Independents (note: surprisingly to McClatchy Marist and most likely the Republican Establishment) so does Palin.

*Obama leads Romney by 46 to 44, and Palin by 49 to 44 in this poll: Therefore in the Romney Obama match up: 10% are undecided, while in the Palin match-up, 7% are undecided, the undecided’s are generally leaning independents. Therefore, without the crosstabs yet available, one cannot know which candidate does the best among independents in this poll. However, with a remarkable gain of 20 points in a short period of time, especially in McClatchy poll, one can suggest that the candidate yet to announce is the candidate to watch in future polling. It is fitting then, to finish with a “Palinism” (believe that was coined by the New York Times) “Polls are for strippers and Cross Country Skiers”. However, they sure make life interesting, and can be predictive, especially internal polls.

2012 Update: Trump Holding Out for Palin Announcement – Media Defends Palin Against Pelham MA, stalker, Joe McGinniss – Constitution Day Reminder

Constitution Day - Read the Bus! - image Iowans4Palin.blogspot

2012 Presidential Candidate Rick Perry made the pilgrimage to New York to meet with Donald Trump, whose endorsement would carry more than a bit of weight, as endorsements go – however kind Trump was to Perry, he is said to be holding out for an announcement from Governor Sarah Palin. Multiple sources include: Newsmax, , the Alaska Dispatch and Politico’s Morning Scorecard.

Trump who had expressed an interest at the run, and would have made an interesting candidate, to say the least, has, since formally dropping out of the race, toyed with the idea of reentering “If the right person doesn’t win the GOP nomination”. One must understand that although Trump might mean well, a Three Way Race, based on a Massachusetts model used by David Axelrod, might just put Obama back in office for another four years. Trump, there is no doubt, loves his country, and that qualified candidate he wishes to see take the nomination; one can surmise from his unwillingness to endorse anyone until Palin enters the race, would be – Palin.

Just another Massachusetts (those of us who consistently have to apologize for where we live), nutcase who originally hailed from the Berkshires, but has since moved to the Western Massachusetts town of Pelham, Joe McGinniss, who, while in the sleepy town by the Quabbin Reservoir, managed to write yet another book, while trying to recapture his former level of literary competence, on Sarah Palin. The man’s fantasy and his obvious obsession with the Palin’s to the point of a padded cell, can be found in ramblings of his personal blog where he notes that one Palin daughter is having a birthday, while wondering if Palin will “care” that a Tornado struck Western Mass, all while putting the finishing touches on his book on Palin.

Rod Serling and the Twilight Zone - image FT.blogs.com

The book, obviously a grab for both attention and the hope of cash, has met with criticism from both literary critics as well as journalists who know a tall-tale when they see one (suddenly), is outlined in today's’ article from Politico: “Sarah Palin is defended by 'Lamestream media'. From the New York Times to Politico, those defending Palin, may not care for her policy, however, what is interesting is that they have, at all, come to her defense. It appears that the more the Mainstream Media get’s to know Rick Perry, the more it takes a partially honest, painful look at the reality that is Sarah Palin. Reading these articles, those who understand Palin has been portrayed most inaccurately by the Press (which relies heavily on comedic performances as news reports), are wondering as of late if they are not living in the land of Rod Serling’s – The Twilight Zone.

In the meantime, the press and those, like Donald Trump, who are “holding out for Palin, wait for her announcement and seek clues as to when it may take place. The Best speculative piece to date on Palin, her possible strategy and the 2012 race, comes from Political Analyst and Activist, Kevin DuJan’s, Hillbuzz.org whose headlines asks: “Do You Know Where Sarah Palin Will be on Friday 9-16-11 and Saturday 9-17-11?” The date(s) in History: Constitution Day.

The question of when, has more often replaced the question of “if” Sarah Palin will run, with recent key appearances and most recently her post to her Facebook page – a “note” on Crony Capitalism directed at the the Obama administration.
From Trump, to the Trenches, all are seeking signs and an announcement that Palin will enter the fray that is the GOP 2012 field, and it will, again, be a time and date of her own choosing.

As she noted in an interview in Iowa: Sometime between September and October. It is the impatience and the ongoing danger that the nation faces now, and the factor of trust in other candidates, that has, those who would hope the Governor weighs in sooner than later, including some in the “mainstream” media chanting softly in the distance at Palin rallies: “Run, Sarah, Run”! Perhaps it will be this weekend, perhaps not, but Constitution Day is worth watching, at the very least, one might learn something one had not previously known about the history of this Great Nation and those founders, who sacrificed on personal level, for so great a cause.

The Blame Game Begins – NY’s 9th and NV Flip Congressional Seats To GOP in Special Elections - Dem Infighting Over The People’s Houses - Analysis

Progressive Name Calling: Image from HillBuzz.org with article article: "Next Time someone says Governor Palin is Polarizing - tell him no she's the Polar Opposite of Obama" This, in part, describes the "blinders" worn by the current administration, unions and progressives, as well as career politicians.

From Politico, the headline: “Republican wins Democratic New York House Seat” explores yesterday’s historic loss of a Congressional Seat in New York’s 9th District, which had been held by Democrats since the 1920’s, and a seat in the Nevada 2nd, which Democrats had challenged as a referendum on the President, while quoting a variety of Democrats who just don’t appear to “get it”. The press continues to see the U.S. political landscape in terms of two major political parties, however, the New York special election, in an overwhelmingly Democrat voter registration district, by political novice, Bob Turner, defies that theory, it was in New York, as it was in Nevada, the people’s seat and the people’s voice that led to these victories – a referendum on politics and usual and the inherent belief that political party’s “own” seats.

The article goes on to describe the mayhem caused as Democrat party leaders saw the New York District turn on a dime – blaming Obama, the unions non-involvement, and everything but – the policy of progressive think by all involved, from the top down.

Perhaps most telling of a case of the “blinders” is Politico report on Organized Labor:

It was a nightmare scenario for Democrats that threatens to repeat itself on the national level, as major unions turn away from their traditional level of engagement. AFL-CIO leaders have talked about focusing their spending on state-level races. The giant SEIU has discussed replacing what had been an all-out campaign for Obama in 2008 with a campaign more focused on the issue of jobs.
And labor union leaders in Washington watched with frustration as a heavily Democratic, pro-union, blue-collar district slipped away.
“Obama needs to reconnect with labor, get in the trenches with us again,” said a veteran labor official. “There is, among my members, a sense of disconnect with him. He needs to signal to us that he is a labor champion, not just supported by labor.”

Apparently, the unions missed what the people did not: From Real Clear Politics “Swing Voters Recoil From Unions, and Obama” referring to a joint rally held in Michigan featuring Jimmy Hoffa the younger, and Obama. Hoffa used language such as (paraphrased) “take the Tea Party Out”, “Mr. President, we’re your army” - while Obama did nothing to refute, rather appeared to support Hoffa’s statements. In addition, in Washington State, members of the Longshoremen’s union, destroyed equipment and took hostages in an attempt to make a point (Daily Caller). On the east coast, striking Verizon workers cut cable lines some of which were critical to emergency services, in a recent strike – Verizon refused to settle, everyone went back to work. (hotjoints.com).

In “Job Stimulus II”, the Presidents’ attempt at following up on the failed “Job Stimulus I”, saw David Axelrod, Obama’s mentor, campaign manager and Senior Advisor noting that Republican’s in the house could “take it or leave it” referring to the Presidents "legislation" – allowing for zero compromise in a time when the nation’s poor are slipping further into poverty.

It is the us or them, the union/Progressive (i.e. socialist) ram it down the people’s throats, pass laws without reading them (Health Care Legislation, i.e. Obamacare), the blame the corporations and the Republicans’ attitude (those Tea Party Republicans) and philosophy, that has the people looking for less traditional leaders going forward. That message was soundly delivered in New York’s 9th District, by the people, divesting themselves of party politics as usual and sending a strong message to Obama, yes, but the rest of the political class as well – “We’ve had enough”.

For edification: the headline from the Washington Post speaks volumes: ”Republican Wins Democrat New York House Seat”, the seat belonging neither to a Democrat or a Republican in truth, rather to the constituents of the district, who chose to send someone other than a career politician tied to a party that is vested in Labor Unions, Progressive think and a total disregard for what the people might need – less government, less spending, a sane business environment which would create more jobs.

Therefore, this scenario will replay itself out throughout the upcoming political season of 2012, as the incumbent faces a loss, more so if backs labor literally, or continues policies that failed in the 1970’s under Carter, (sadly that ship has sailed, but adding to the already fragile economy with a jobs bill, no way to pay for it but taxes, investing in extended unemployment benefits (4th year), and infrastructure (union) jobs – is continual political suicide. Debbie Wasserman, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney “Dodd-Frank regulate the Banks to Death” Frank, and the rest of the “Progressive Democrats”, are in danger of becoming extinct politically. It is not just Obama’s failures, but a combination of failures supported by organized labor and progressive think that has the United States on the verge of electing a citizens legislature and a citizens President for the first time in history.

Although Politico notes that the Democrats, bravely continue with a glass half full front in discussing Obama’s possible opposition for 2012:

Asked who he’d like to see the Republicans nominate, Montana Democratic Governor Brian Schweitzer suggested: “Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry - those would all be good ones to run against.”

One might suggest that those are exactly the types of candidates that the people who are sending Bob Turner to Congress in New York, might send to the White House in 2012.

Therefore, bickering aside, politicians from both sides of the aisle and their supporters should understand that the populace is now vested in how they vote, and they know how to research roll calls, the populace is in favor of: corporate tax cuts to repatriate businesses, creating jobs, shutting down the border, repealing burdensome regulation such as Dodd Frank, ObamaCare and anything else that smacks of yet another burden the small or large business which will be passed onto the people. It is not, as Hoffa suggested a “war” between the Unions and their President, Obama”, it is a renunciation of the type of rhetoric, the reality that those who consistently drink at the till of the government trough at the taxpayer expense, are about to be handed the proverbial pink slip. 2012 will be a referendum on a political philosophy, one that is followed by the President, and the many Senators and Congressional Representatives who will also be up for reelection in 2012.

A side note: If in the NY 9th, the Democrats could not manufacture enough votes to overcome a challenge, what will happen in the rest of the City, and for that matter in Massachusetts, where all incumbent Democrats, (with one exception) had to fight hard to hold onto seats in 2010, and where in 2012, those same districts (less one), will be challenged again? No matter how it will be spun, and no matter that Obama has become the new “sacrificial lamb” of those as guilty of a political ideology as the President, it is what it is, the people will vote, and once again, the potential for historical turns in both houses of Congress, but especially the White House, are more probable than not.
As Hades is freezing over, one might suggest that should Palin announce her intent to run (when), a women will be standing guard at the gates of that “shining city on the hill” that is America, backed by an assembly of the people, working on behalf of the people’s interest. First; "Yes Virginia, there are moderate Democrats, who vote with follow a new pro-Constitution philosophy" - Tea and Common Sense anyone?

2012 GOP Update: As the Tea Party/CNN GOP Debate Approaches, Palin Receives Chilly Reception from Fox – Stock Rises on CNN

Palin on Announcement - Will She or Won't She - Social Media or CNN? - image anotherblackcoservative blog

The next GOP debate will take place on September 12, this coming Monday night, In Florida. Full schedule here at CNN.com. All candidates who participated in the MSNBC debate held this past week will also appear on stage in Tampa. The criteria of the debate is listed at CNN’s polticalticker.blogs. There is Wolf Blitzer’s take on Palin and her possible entry into the race one has to ask: Does this sound like the Wolf Blitzer we know?

Palin, on CNN, is mentioned in 20 articles and videos in the first two search pages.
Over at Fox, the network to which Palin may be employed as a part-time political analyst, there is a distinct chill in the air, it began two weeks ago – and when one queries the Fox News site, one comes up with articles of a slightly different tone. Highlighted - Ann Coulter’s piece on Palin and her “late entry” into the race. Coulter, if one recalls, championed Duncan Hunter in the 2008 race, and one would believe that she chooses candidates that are close to her ideological viewpoints, yet are not electable, therefore, this keeps her from endorsing a real candidate. That said, there appears, in reading the articles, almost an anti-Palin attitude at Fox, when one compares them to CNN.

This twilight zone phenomena leads one to speculate that perhaps, just perhaps, Palin has already rendered or is about to render her resignation at the Network. While CNN hosting the Tea Party Debate may have a scoop up its sleeve (One would need one Tea Party program from a recent rally in New Hampshire in order to understand that innuendo.)

Therefore, since Palin has noted in the recent past, that she will make a decision as to her entry into the race by the end of September, and as that is plenty of time for Palin, should she decide to run, (and it appears likely given her recent stump speeches and critiques of the GOP candidates), to make the New Hampshire primary and compete with both media frontrunners, Mitt Romney and Rick Perry. She continues to place third in the polls, including that much ballyhooed Fox poll, which implied that 74% of Republican’s would rather she not run, yet failing to mention the huge sample of Democrats included in the poll for that specific question. In fact, Palin did place third in the Fox poll of note: and had not yet announced. The later being the key.

An article standing up for Palin and her right to choose, comes from the less than Palin supportive, Alaska Dispatch, a blog that has an actual “Palin Watch”. However, that blogger has more of a right to criticize Palin than those co-workers (or possibly past co-workers) on Fox, given the fact that it is an Alaskan Blog, and a left of center Alaskan blog at that.

It is quite possible that Palin will bow out of the race, and endorse another candidate in time, or go on to work towards promoting both GOP and Tea Party candidates for Congress, as she did in 2010, or - alternately, it is the hope of many, for a variety of reasons, that she run in 2012 (this blogs being the fact that she is qualified, vetted, perhaps more than any other candidate in history, has a message that is on point, and does not take any ridiculous assertions made regarding her, without sounding off – especially when it involves Karl Rove (she receives points just for that fact). She’s a women of firsts, and as a feminist this blog would like to see one more first (yes, it is selfish), Palin as the first woman to run successfully on the GOP ticket.

For another take on Palin and her supporters, one strongly suggests reading the latest form the blog Hillbuzz.org hillbozz.org/sarah-palin. Keep in mind these are the same activist bloggers who played a huge role in electing Scott Brown to the vacant Senate Seat in Massachusetts’ January 19th 2010 special election.

Palin’s support might run a bit deeper than the “Tea Party “alone, and perhaps, just perhaps, those who prefer to button up the race early (pre-primary) and choose the two candidates (Perry and Romney) for “the rest of us”, might just have to put those plans on hold. Only time will tell, of course, but it is strongly suggested that one watch the CNN Debate on Monday the 12th.

Sarah Palin In New Hampshire Today, Media Circles Wagons – Rolls Out Huntsman – Relies on Skewed Fox News Poll Data - Analysis

Palin will roll into New Hampshire today, The Question Remains: When will She Announce? - photo ABC News Blogs

Sarah Palin will speak today in Manchester, New Hampshire at a Tea Party sponsored event – the question of when she will enter the 2012 GOP race is apparently driving American media over the ledge. New Hampshire, from any point of view, is one of the most important, if not the most important “First in the Nation” GOP primary state, and Palin’s speech today is much anticipated, not only from the media, but from both Palin supporters as well as other GOP candidates – on the one hand hoping today will be the day she announces, on the other hand, fearing that she may. The New Hampshire Union Leader’s As Palin returns to NH, questions abound” features the usual political science professor, a quote from a “conservative” and or “Republican” and one of the lowest rung GOP candidates, John Huntsman who is not overly concerned with Palin entering the race. The article also includes polling which indicated that Palin does poorly among Republicans, yet in this instance, admits that things may change should she formally announce.

The poll which all media is abuzz, including the New York Daily News, is a Fox News Poll released on September 1st, which shows Perry leading Romney, followed by – Palin. The poll included 911 registered voters, of which 40% indicated they will vote in the Democrat primary in 2012. In the 2nd question for Republican’s only, Palin is not included in the field of choices, however, question #3, asks all respondents (includes 40% Democrats), if Palin should run for President, of those 74% said no – leading to the headlines: paraphrased: “Palin Loses Republican Support, Republican’s want Palin out of the Race”, however disingenuous this may appear, and it does, (with 40% of at 74% being Democrats), one thing is certain, in Question 28, with Palin included in the race, she places third behind Perry and Romney, without having announced. Perry, if one wishes to recall, was polling being both Romney and Bachmann prior to his official entry into the race.

In this case, one must agree with Palin when she quips ”Polls are for Strippers and Cross Country Skiers”. This is true when polls are skewed only slightly.

On things is certain, Manchester New Hampshire will be the destination today, for the media, who endlessly harangues Palin, yet is obviously obsessed, to Tea Party groups from the newly Red State of New Hampshire as well as nearby States such as Massachusetts (See Partial List of Massachusetts Tea Party Groups), and those who Republicans and Independents and Moderate Conservative Feminists who might want to see Palin Speak – on Labor Day, in the “Live Free or Die, Granite State, where the first in the Nation primary is held.

Will Palin choose today to announce her candidacy for the 2012 GOP nominee? That is up to Sarah Palin, and though the media continues to pound home that she must adhere to their timetable, Palin understands (as do those who recall living through Jimmy Carter’s presidency), the polls on one Ronald Reagan, the media attacks on one Ronald Reagan, and Reagan's November , 1979 entry into the “race” (note: although his biography indicates his “closest circle” knew well beforehand) which resulted in a complete route of Carter the following year.
Many may retort that Palin is no Reagan, and agreed, she is Palin, unique unto herself, and as such, one who slayed dragons, both Republican and Democrats, without regard to political party, and or self aggrandizement. Her entry into the race would undoubtedly change the polls (strippers and cross country skiers alike), and not unlike Reagan, surprise the media and those inside the Beltway.

It is not without some feminist bias that this blog continues to endorse a Palin candidacy, however, it is also not without some thought and research, that leads to the conclusion that Palin, of all candidates would be the best to lead this nation, at this time, without respect for party, but with a great deal of respect for the people whom she would represent. It is the sacrifice she has already made, that must weigh heavy on her decision, and yet those of us who ask her to take the next step, and to put herself in front of the media firing line, do so out of some desperation for our nation, as well as knowledge that she is competent to do the job and lead women, regardless of party, into the 21st century. At times we forget, that women still earn less than their male counterparts, and had only receive the right to vote in 1920, but most importantly, that regardless of party affiliation, and regardless of the wrath of NARAL and other pro-abortion groups (as if that is the only issue affecting women), Palin would lead us forward, and take no flake from the press nor her detractors, without answering in kind, which is what has been lacking in the Office, lo these many years, and through several administrations.

2012 Roundup Palin Heads to NH & IA Labor Day, To Speak at World Conference in Korea, Obama Fumbles Job Speech, Rick Perry - Trojan Horse?

Will Palin Announce in Time to Join the Debate? image newsrealblog

As the President’s job speech and the timing thereof, appear to have caused a bit of consternation amongst all politicos, the appearance of lack of control over a simple speech, further indicates an administration in a campaign that is imploding. First, the President had schedule his “Jobs creation” speech at the same time as the September 7th Republican Convention. After some kickback from within the Republican ranks, as well as pundits such as James Carville, Democrat Strategist, who termed the timing out-of-bounds, noting that the preference of viewers, including himself, would be the Republican Debate, Team Obama decided that a better time would be might be during the NFL Opening game, until there was more dissent, and the final time choice became the pre-game warm-up.

Meanwhile, Sarah Palin is headed to New Hampshire and Iowa to speak at Tea Party Events over Labor Day Weekend. On Monday September 5th, Palin will be in Manchester New Hampshire, following an appearance in Iowa on the 3rd, where she will be a keynote speaker at a Tea Party Rally in Indianola. Speculation has grown as to when the former Alaska Governor and 2008 GOP VP Nominee might announce her intent to run for the Presidency – or not as the case may be – the latest date being the end of September. However, it appears to some news outlets that former GOP Front-runner Mitt Romney, will be in both places at the same time, obviously overshadowed by Palin and or a Palin announcment.

Further, speculation that the announcement must come fairly soon is evidenced (according to some pundits) by Palin’s appearance at the South Korean World Knowledge Forum 2011 which features multiple speakers including Heads of State and Global Business Leaders. One would think that this type of forum might be a place where a prestigious U.S. Presidential Candidate would fare quite well, setting the foreign policy, global business bar fairly high for other candidates. The conference is also scheduled during a GOP debate, which begs the question: will Palin announce her intent to run, or will she be a cheerleader for the eventual nominee? Smart money is on the announcement, the timing of which no one but Palin and her family are privy.

Although asked and answered a million times about an Iowa Tea Party announcement, not one question has been brought to bear about a New Hampshire Tea Party announcement. Therefore, it behooves one to speculate on that particular aspect of a possible announcement in New Hampshire post Labor Day Weekend. The reasoning: timing and taking the sails out of the pundit’s winds, such as Karl Rove who had chosen Iowa. In addition the New Hampshire landscape will be chock full of politicians, including the aforementioned Mitt Romney. Of special interest, her New Hampshire speech is schedule right before the Presidential Debate on the 7th, giving Palin time to possibly join the party at the Reagan Presidential Library. The Debate is hosted by Politico and NBC News. Why would Palin be able to attend at this late date? She may have received an invitation from

Former first lady Nancy Reagan (who) sent an invitation to the presidential hopefuls who meet the eligibility standards, which require that a candidacy be formally announced and that a candidate captures at least 4 percent in one of eight national polls.
(Politico)

This insertion into the Debate Schedule which also is Rick Perry’s debut, would turn this debate from a “barn-burner” (quoted: James Carville) into possibly one of the highest rated debates in history. Other candidates included are Romney, Cain, Bachmann and Paul (all of whom have done well in one or more of the eight polls In addition, it would be a coup for Palin to knock out one debate ball park before heading off to Korea’s World Knowledge Forum as a bona fide Candidate for the U.S. Presidency. Again that’s speculation and her announcement may come simply via You Tube (or a quick press conference) from her home in Wasilla, Alasak sometime before the end of October. That said the former (although speculation) would place Palin in a key position to upend the pundits, dominate a debate and hit the world stage running.

What of the current front-runner, Governor Rick Perry? An interesting op-ed piece at Politico by Paul Goldman and Mark Rozell puts forth the theory that Perry’s candidacy actually may help Michelle Bachmann. The scenario is laid out in such a manner that should Bachmann best Perry in the Iowa Caucus, she may go onto take the nomination, not unlike Obama, Carter and Clinton. However, there is another point of view vis a vis the relationship between Perry and Palin that bears some scrutiny. Perry, who is billed as a Tea Party Candidate, and has bona fides in that respect, is also known in Texas as a career politicians and aggressive campaigner. Moreover when Perry appeared to be on the verge of losing the governorship to Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Palin stepped in and rallied the base – which put Perry in the position for this run. Perry is viewed on the national (media) stage (by independents and Democrats) as someone who is far right of the mainstream, mixing religion with state politics (true or not, the Prayer rally for rain may have given that impression), his views on seceding from the Union, his views on Social Security as a Ponzi scheme (although he may have hit the nail on the head), all lead to a candidate as frontrunner who is just not acceptable to the all important independent voter.

Additionally, front runners lose that status as new challengers emerge, especially one that would, by virtue of Rick Perry being Rick Perry, appear to be the middle ground candidate, one who has the peoples interest in mind, one who has governed effectively, one who has succeeded in ridding her state of corrupt politicians, from both parties – one Sarah Palin. Perry, in his extreme right state of appearance, gives Palin the appearance of moderation. In addition, Perry has taken the wind out of Romney’s sails, so to speak, and should Palin announce, there would be the potential for Perry to drop in the polls. Should this occur, Romney would also decline, in theory, following suit, giving Palin, with the highest name recognition of any candidate, the lead. (The same can be said vis a vis Bachmann and Perry.)

What is certain, the incumbent will be a one-term president, the poll numbers continue to decline, and Democrats are praying that Hillary Clinton resigns tomorrow and mounts a challenge. From Vermont’s Sander’s to the Los Angeles Times looking for clues in a recent White House Press briefing, all eyes are on the former first lady, to take a stab at saving the brand and the White House. That said, it is doubtful that, with her close association with Obama (be it forced or a case of “keeping ones enemies closer”), it would allow the GOP opponent to cast Clinton in an Obama light, which regardless of her popularity, would render her unelectable – perhaps.

Ron Paul Supporter Digs Deep on Ad Seeking Sexual “Misconduct” Dirt on Rick Perry, San Francisco Chronicle Takes the Bait!

Handful of Protesters in NH for Perry Event - Media Blows out of Proportion - image Pegasus News dot com

A Ron Paul Supporter (Ron Paul, being a Libertarian running as a Republican for President, having a following that is rather dedicated) had taken out an ad in a Texas paper asking for information from prostitutes and others of the same ilk, to come forward with information regarding any dalliances with the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry. The supporter is seen by the media (at large) as a “Republican” simply because he supports Ron Paul, who is labeled as a Republican (while truly not fitting the mold, with the exception of some economic theories), therefore, if this one so-called Republican, is seeking dirt on the Governor, then – “it must be true!” The Gate also refers to Karl Rove’s dislike of the 10 year Texas Governor, as additional “proof” that there’s problems with Rick Perry’s Character.
What is most amazing in all of this, is why certain print plus web publishers are surprised when the quarterly audits are out, and they show a loss of circulation and impressions – again. (Something like the monthly “surprise” in an increase in unemployment by the administration – there is a trend here.)

Call this blog crazy, however, given the fact that Rove is not happy with Perry is obvious – he’s part of the Texas Republican establishment, and supported Kay Bailey Hutchinson’s bid for the Governor’s office. Rove also is not enamored of Sarah Palin, who stuck her nose into Texas politics and supported Perry – who bested Kay Bailey – no one – surprisingly was shot. (Disclaimer: This is a joke based on the current state of the media ready to jump on anything as “proof”.)

How “dangerous” is Rick Perry as a candidate? (Dangerous to the DNC) – Apparently very: given the increasing number of ridiculous and negative articles, including this gem from the New York Times “For better or worse, Perry echoes Bush in many ways. Could that cost him swing voters?”
Therefore, on the one hand in San Francisco Gate Land – Perry is a possible sex fiend, began a Ron Paul Supporter is digging for dirt, and Karl Rove dislikes him, on the other hand, in New York Times Land, Perry’s a lot like Bush!

Give us all a break – and watch “The Undefeated!” – Stephen K Bannon’s gift to the nation on how the media can twist, turn and destroy a candidate, (or try to in the case of Palin), with malicious intent, not caring a whit if what they print is true, if what they broadcast is fact, as long as it is helping a “Progressive”. They apparently also do not care much about their stockholders or employees, who are disappointed financially and for the most part unemployed due to the “rising cost of printing the papers” and the decline in circulation.

Herein lays the deal. Although this blog has not committed to a candidate, as the preferred “horse” has not yet entered the race”, it is the absolute audacity of the press and their willingness to speculate the news, right or wrong, that is most annoying. Although Palin has not yet announced, at the rate the Press (both print and broadcast (blogs well, there are blogs, as is this one – for the most part opinion about facts sometimes with references sometimes without), Governor Rick Perry will make Sarah Palin appear to be the most electable Republican in the bunch – which may have been the plan all along – or not (Anyone jumping on that conspiracy theory?)

It is the fact that someone is standing up, a political newcomer to the press that does not leave their safety zone of Progressive think to actually ask questions, and report realistically, it is the fact that Perry actually stands up for his beliefs, which, apparently he is finding out does not play well with the Press. It appears that he may be undaunted. With one exception:

In a recent visit to New Hampshire Governor Perry, who, according to “The State”, was greeted by “protesters” even though he has so far, drawn the biggest crowds to the traditional Republican Primary events in that State. Those protesters, holding signs and dissatisfied with the Texan’s Reponses are one former State Democrat office holder and a few community organizers (see photos) (Note: New Hampshire is now a Red State, increasing its conservative base from fleeing Massachusetts conservatives (causing a loss of a Congressional Seat in the Bluest State.), and a “community organized group” - the state failed to mention the size of the group. However, WMUR, out of Manchester New Hampshire set a different tone on the “incident” – which is worth the read. (Due to the nature of the reporting - it is reporting!

Therefore, if Perry, in an authentic Texas manner (note to New York Times, Texas is a large state, and has many politician’s, both Democrats and Republicans, and not all Republican’s are like Bush! (playing the Bush Card in desperation), can stand up to the media (a la Palin) that will endear him to the rest of the nation (including Republican’s (who are not so moderate they might as well be Democrats, Democrats, who have not lost their minds and gone over to the “progressive” end of the party and most importantly independents who are looking for a straight shooter (from the hip, either by word or deed). The more the let looses it (and that is becoming glaringly apparent) the higher Perry’s polls will go.
The thought now that one of the Republican’s in the field cannot beat Obama in November should be a given, the nation has had it, and therefore, the job is to pick the right Republican, not necessarily the one the beltway would like to have as the nominee or the New York Times and co is comfortable with (watch for good press, it’s not a good sign), or Karl Rove Likes a lot, or the list goes on. The most authentic, non-groomed, under coached individual who has experience in government at the state level, is the most likely to be able to at least attempt to get us out of this mess – so to those voters who are on the fence this early, start digging and do your homework.

To every single one of the Republican Candidates – Visit Massachusetts!! Do not abandon us for the sake of the GOP – if you have Tea Party leanings, there are Tea Party’s across the state (See Scott Brown vs. Coakley) – it is not a “Winner Take All State”, and if anyone of you would like to stick it to another Republican candidate, this would be the place to campaign – it’s an hour and a half from New Hampshire to the Middle of Massachusetts and the Western Part of the state – Note to Guvnor Perry – Western Massachusetts residents have often wished to secede from the Commonwealth. You might find a stop in Worcester or for that matter the Springfield area, would contain supporters, in the form of Republicans, Tea Party, Green Party, Unenrolleds (which are the majority of vote share in the State) and yes, Democrats.

Why The GOP Presidential Field Is Insufficient and There Simply is No Candidate that Will Work for the American People.

Perry and Bachmann - Fear from the Left - Translates into "Ridiculous Press" - image Newsmax

With Texas Governor, Rick Perry’s entrance into the political arena of Presidential politics, the resounding theme from the media in general is one of anticipation, as in, what else you got? The problem is, that regardless of who runs for office on the GOP ticket, be they a moderate Republican, a staunch fiscal conservative or a candidate that supports both fiscal and social conservative issues, a candidate that supports both fiscal and social issues, and is also Christian, and lastly, a candidate that would combine all of the above, none of them, to the eye of the media, would be sufficient to run this nation.
The problem with the GOP or the Tea Party for that matter, is that no matter who is “leading” or a “leader” (a strong personality that has the ability to make sound statements that resonate with those that share the same ideology), is, simply, they are not Progressive Democrats or outright Socialists. Anyone expressing values, be they fiscal or moral, is anathema to those who would see the nation return to a Constitutional form of Government. Therefore, the media will never be honest, or positive about any one of the GOP candidates. In this specific cycle, the reason is clear, crystal clear.

During the two years leading up to the 2008 election (and previously) George Bush was abused by the press, regardless of whether the man was right or wrong, there as a no holds barred attack, and this attack went on day after day, in print and in airwaves, with the premise that “all Republicans” were George Bush. The result, in 2006 Congress, with Nancy Pelosi, (D-CA8), a Progressive Democrat, at the helm, Bush had little he would be able to do, and the nation was run, constitutional, with the power vested, not in the President, but in the Congress and Senate. With the election of 2008, it was a similar game plan, denounce every candidate as fringe, and promote only the most Progressive Candidate – and it worked. We now have Barack Obama at the helm – a man who’s obviously tried his best, however, there have been too many factors which have led to a downward spiral in his popularity, the economy and his handling of the same, being on the top of the list. He’s lost his mojo with the public, but he’s still the champion of the media, and anyone who might apply for his job, is the enemy.

The problem with the aforementioned is: no one is listening anymore, to the right or the left of the media discourse, the appearance of bias is so great, that Joe Citizen is no longer relying on the “news” to form an opinion. This is approximately what happened to Jimmy Carter, when one is an abject failure, and the media continues to be the cheerleader, eventually the people will get tired and hire someone else, no matter what may be said of the individual (clown, cowboy, dangerous, lacking intelligence.)

Ignoring history is one of the key elements of the mistake made on a daily basis – and the rank partisanship of the media is so apparent, that it is no wonder that there is no one Republican that is in the current field that appeals to “Republican voters”.
The reality is that the GOP contest is one that is not only interesting, it is becoming more so with the entry into the race of Governor Rick Perry of Texas, as well as the potential for Palin to enter in September. With Independents, Democrats disenfranchised with the Progressive road to Economic demise, and a general sense that Mickey Mouse could do a better job; the Republican Field looks mighty interesting.

Those reading the news regularly, (or more to the point, heading to the web, reading the news, doing their own fact checking, are distraught over the inability of the administration to see the forest through the trees when it comes to kick starting the economy – there is historical evidence in place that proves there are policies that work, and those that fail – yet, they continue to follow paths that are known to fail, and continue to come up with new ideas, that sound very much like the rhetoric of the 1960’s. With street gangs, and “flash mobs” robbing stores, and causing riots, from Philadelphia to Chicago, and into the Heartland, with inflation on food and essentials rising and the paychecks going now where fast, and with a leader at the helm, that appears to be either clueless or incapable of making a sound decision, they are looking carefully at the GOP field, and making choices – one can predict with a certainty, that the GOP primary process in 2012 will draw a great deal of attention, from all voters, including the Independents, the Democrats and the Republicans who make up the much maligned Tea Party, or not. This will follow into the general election.

What’s wrong with the GOP Candidates now? According to the media, everything:
From the Daily Beast (the online version of Newsweek which is print only) comes the article: “Dominionism Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry’s Dangerous Religious Bond. This piece insists that both candidates are connected to a cult that seeks Christian domination. The surreal idea that both candidates are connected by this type of common bond, smacks of the desperation of the media, and almost parrots MSNBC’s Rachel “conspiracy theory” Maddow.

In a nation that is disenfranchised with the economy, the fact that two candidates (or all candidates) are religious is not a deterrent, rather shows stability – to the average voter. From the left point of view, Christian’s are dangerous, because?

If that aspect doesn’t’ work, let’s look at dubious fundraising, no matter how deep one has to dig to get something dubious on a candidate: Rick Perry, Politico has uncovered may count on donors who have rather deep pockets, and he may have a donor who is also a lobbyist or may receive money from a PAC! Good Grief, that man is both a Christian and is raising funds to run for President!

On the flip side, the only mention of Barack Obama’s ability to challenge a candidate came from Yahoo news: Obama’s Bus Catches Buzz:a comparison of campaign buses, Obama’s (which looks like a hearse, and Palin’s (complete with American Themes). The opening statement (paraphrased) Obama’s bus is better than Palin’s bus. Palin has yet to announce her candidacy but the media is not taking any chances.

Palin’s Bus Tour, which one can read into that road trip, the road to the White House 2012, comes under the scrutiny of Politico Sarah Palin tour comes to abrupt halt, as if Palin is undecided as to what to do next – except head back to Alaska so her younger daughter who had accompanied the family on the bus tour of American Historical sites, (and yes political arena’s), could begin the school year. Abrupt end?

Herein lays the problem, in the face of one of the worst financial crisis, as well as growing social unrest and the potential for UK Type Mob riots (refer to Philadelphia, Chicago, etc. or just Google Philadelphia Youth Gangs, the Milwaukee State Fair attacks, etc.), individuals are looking for strong leaders, with fiscal conservatism as the primary key, and an ability to have some moral authority (i.e. a faith in the Constitution as well as a religion), and is not afraid to stand up and be – themselves. It is refreshing that what the field now contains (so far) one woman who has more chutzpah than twenty men, and is fearless in the face of scorn and criticism from the left or the right. (Bachmann), one gun toting, Texan of humble birth, who is, in reality, what the American Dream is about, telling the public, you too should have opportunities, your children should have opportunity, and (paraphrasing again) “I’m going to pray for that, and then deal with the fiscal crisis – There are jobs in Texas, private sector jobs! Perry, one can well imagine, won’t cozy up to the media either, or be well treated (that’s a given) by the media, but, both candidates are being looked at closely as potential replacements for the current “non-leader.

Should Palin enter the race – or when Palin enters the race, there will be three that have been maligned, tested and are standing firm in the face of the onslaught from blogs, to crazed Progressives, who cannot get past the “tax the rich”, dogma of Obama (who should take a hard look now, at London and see what that led to (he apparently has not been briefed on our own grab and stead from the “rich” flash mobs, who break into stores, attack innocent shoppers, and basically take what they want, because someone may be “richer” than they are.

Therefore, in reality, what is wrong with the current crop of GOP candidates, is that they are – right.

Not right-wing, but just plain right, about the state of the nations economics, the U.S. standing in the eyes of the world, and the fact that America is an exceptional nation, with boundless opportunity under a free market system with fair taxes.
This does not sit well with the 20% of the nation’s Progressives.

Tough

Therefore, as these individuals who have taken their time, their treasure, and their families on the road to the GOP nomination, be they Tea Party or GOP Regular (think Mitt), with the outcome being that one will challenge an already neutered incumbent, watch for the media to attack with a vengeance, regardless of fact, or fact checking that is correct. Pay strict attention to those men and women who are in competition for a job that clearly, no one should want, unless that person is so dedicated to this nation, and believes that the United States is worth fighting for, that they are willing to take abuse 24/7 for those of us who are not as courageous. It is that one of these people will be the next President.
Recommended: The Undefeated: which will be available in September on DVD – although focused on Palin’s political rise through Alaskan Politics to the National stage, one must understand that this film not only exonerates Palin, but more to the point, shows the press and it’s tenacious resolve to destroy anyone whom they see as the enemy – It was made for Palin, yes, but it applies to every candidate, from the Tea Party member who is running for Congressional office, or the Senate, to the Presidency – watch your media carefully, both from the right and from the left, and form one’s own opinion. It is “hard work” as one Democrat this blog holds dear once announced, when told how to research a candidate and their issues, to see where they stood, and how well their ideas match their own, and then decide whom to choose – that it was hard work. Yes, it is hard work, but it is well worth the time and the trouble.

One more thing: Run Sarah Run!

Palin’s Alaskan Politics leads to AAA Credit Rating for State – Shock - NOW Defends Bachmann over Newsweek Despicable Cover

Newsweek Cover - the epitome of bad taste - image Newsweek

Not for nothing, but Sarah Palin, the fiscally conservative, aisle crossing, whistle blowing regardless of Political Party, former Govenor of the State of Alaska, has another point in her favor, according to the Atlantic Blog – Palin’s policies, in place now in Alaska, contributed to the states AAA rating, which is slightly better than the one the current administration managed to achieve for the nation.

Palin in a post to Facebook (using Social Media to the Best Possible Advantage) ”lashed” out at Obama for his handling of the nations’ debt. She can do that with some authority given her prior experience – the fact that she called the President “clueless” is interesting, as that has been bandied about by Donald Trump as well (Palin met with Trump in NY on her bus tour) – as well as, alarmingly ad apparently correct. The President, for perhaps all his good intentions, has no idea of when to throw in the towel, and stop blaming everyone from the Tea Party to S&P and his family dogs (made that up- but, let’s face it, they may be next), for policies he has continued, policies he has put into place in order to bring us past the Jimmy Carter precipice. Worth repeating: Run, Palin, Run!!

Michelle Bachmann, the only other member of the GOP with any gumption (jury out on Rick Perry), and GOP Presidential Candidate currently leading Mitten’s Romney in the Iowa Straw Poll, was recently depicted on the cover of Time Magazine, al la Sarah Palin, or as one would put it more reasonably, in a sexist display of abject hate for the Conservative Female politician – this from a weekly paper that has been sold for $1.00, which, from this perspective that may have been a bad investment.

The cover, with headlines “The Queen of Rage”, is a less than complementary, obviously over photo shopped headshot of the GOP 2012 Iowa Frontrunner. It is blatant in its sexism and it is blatant in plain bad taste. Set aside this blogs conservative leanings, the covers of Newsweek, have had a history of painting women who dare to aspire to higher office than say, typing pool, are all of the same ilk. If it were my buck, I’d demand my money back.

What is most amazing in this particular bad taste story, is the Los Angeles Times Report

But even the National Organization for Women chimed in:

"It's sexist," NOW president Terry O'Neill told conservative news site the Daily Caller. "Casting her in that expression and then adding 'The Queen of Rage,' I think [it is]. Gloria Steinem has a very simple test: If this were done to a man or would it ever be done to a man – has it ever been done to a man? Surely this has never been done to a man."

Knock me over with a feather.

Of course the LA Times appeared to have been in agreement with the Times and could not understand why Conservatives would be offended – seriously. The Palin documentary, “The Undefeated”, exposes the media and the professional lefts’ attacks on Conservatives (granted Palin), therefore, although the documentary sets the record straight on Palin, what it also does is show the disparity in reporting, the twisting and ability to outright lie, when it comes to favoring one political party over the other – and generally either teaches or reinforces an extreme distrust of any “mainstream” media. Newsweek just adds another nail in the proverbial coffin.

This is not to say that other women have not take a beating by those whose agenda’s don’t allow for a female to have power, and also apply for higher political office: Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton were both skewered by the media, however, the collective mind of the aforementioned has risen to new heights when it comes to Conservative women running for higher office. This blog, putting feminism aside, and placing events into historical perspective, believes that it is time for the nation to elect a woman to higher office, as historically strong female leaders have led their nations into prosperity (even when they had to disguise themselves as men to do so.) However, as the historian’s in the past (and perhaps today) tend to be male-centered, one finds that even the most outstanding monarch, tribal leader, President, if they were female, were spoken of in terms one could only describe as sexist and derogatory, overlooking the resounding themes of accomplishments. One would think as a people in this particular nation founded on liberty that one would be able to take the individual as a hole, instead of by gender or race or religion, and determine a vote and or an article based on policy differences, while giving credit where credit is due.

“The Undefeated” – Plainville CT – Review and Commentary

After having read reviews from several sources on Stephen K. Bannon’s, documentary, “The Undefeated”, and being able to watch the film today at the AMC Lowes theatres in Plainville, CT at the 1:00 PM show, there was only one phrase that comes to mind – Game changer.

The fact that the film itself is not cinematically perfect, with a great deal of hokey imagery, the content of interviews, and historical film footage is gripping. The final stages of the films narrative, with Andrew Brietbart, Tammy Bruce and Mark Levin, is compelling, so much so, that when the theater erupted in applause at the end, it was not surprising. What was surprising? At 1 pm in the afternoon, at a theater in Plainville (which is New Britain/Hartford, CT, which, upon arrival, my seventeen year old noted that there was a handful of “older people”, would end up almost full.

By any stretch of the imagination, this blogger is no film critic, and obviously, a conservative feminist who would, naturally, be in favor of the subject, however, it was the film’s content specifically, the news footage that one came out of Alaska, pre-McCain which made this individual a “believer”. As a Reagan Democrat, Sarah Palin is no Ronald Reagan, despite the fact that perhaps, more than any other politician of our time, she deserves the comparison – she is – simply – Sarah Palin and one can envision, thirty years hence, other politicians trying to out-Palin one another.

Déjà vu Pervades US Economics and the Coming 2012 Presidential Election – Both Carter and Bush shadow Obama – Reelection: Mission Impossible

Carter/Obama and the Rule that History Repeats itself image: ututilis.com

Although it may not seem fair to the President, as both the Congress and the White House take a summer recess and Obama hits the campaign trail during, what has to be, one of the bleakest weeks in the economic lives of Middle Class American’s, the President is being, aptly, compared historically and accurately to one James E. Carter, one term economic fiasco and former President of the U.S.

After Jimmy Carter’s attempts at trying to right the nation (he inherited a recession), by spending his way out of it, including, but not limited to, job stimulus programs, the bailout of Chrysler, and an anti-military, anti-big oil and anti-wall street approach to economics, with the end result being a misery index that provided an opportunity for the nation to stand up and vote him out of office – Carter’s dismal record was such that even with a third party candidate in the mix, Ronald Reagan won handily.

Mitt Romney compared to Reagan - from the Daily Beast

Yesterday, while the stock market plunged, and world markets went wildly in the same direction, due to the fact that the US has hit its Obama requested debt ceiling, and has literally “nowhere to go”, those who own a 401K are now terrified of checking the balances – 401K’s have replaced traditional pension plans for most employees, including those who may be making a minimum wage – they not for the “rich” but for the average Joe. Anyone who may have taken what is considered a “hit”, stand fast and hold on to your socks until January of 2013, unless of course, it looks like the Republican challenger to Obama is going to handily best him in the Presidential Contest of 2012, around say September or October. If it appears there is no snowball’s chance in Hades Obama (see Carter) would be reelected, the markets will roar back. The alternative is unthinkable.

Pawlenty Compared to Reagen image Poltico

Here’s a take on the subject from an historical perspective: “Not Since Jimmy Carter” “Dow’s losing streak unmatched since 1978” Marketwatch – in reference to the Stock Market’s reaction to Obama’s Economic Policies a la former President Carter.

Just as American’s who lived through the Carter Years, and managed to survive (without eating cat food as a staple meal – reference to rising price of food, fuel and rentals, and those who were on fixed or limited incomes, who could not afford to pay bills and also eat – it was that bad), and now look at parallels too eerily similar to not make one start to look at any alternative candidate for the Presidency – the brand of the Democrats has turned just as toxic with a certain element of Déjà vu.

Deja Vu II Guilt by Association

The Posts note that those incumbent Democrats are now running away from any association with the President, especially on the campaign trail has begun: Headline: “Weprin distances himself from Obama” New York Post
In the Carter years, there was more loyalty, so to speak, and going “down with the Good Ship Carter” appeared to be the norm, however, with the ever Republican, Conservative, Right Wing, Tea Party, (i.e. anyone who is remotely “not progressive”, attitude of the Press, the constant bad news associated with one much maligned George W. Bush, Obama predecessor saw Republican’s distancing themselves in both 2005 (heading up to the 2006 mid-terms) and again in 2008: Headline: “Bush's calendar empty as McCain & Republicans avoid him” from:current.com

From an historical perspective this is a time period that most voters should be able to recall – it is another nail in the coffin of the sequel “Obama II – Let’s Finish off the Economy”, when the proverbial rats start jumping off the good ship Progressive, as it sails into 2012.

Bachmann Compared to Reagan - from the Daily Beast - getting warmer

What is perhaps, the saddest part and parcel of this entire mess, had history been viewed from a realistic perspective, by the President and by his ad visors, he could have changed course, before ever investing in a stimulus! Had someone, somewhere, taught the President in a History class at either of the Universities that he attended, on the politics and policies of the Carter Administration, and the end results, a tragedy could have been averted and he would have been, perhaps, the Hope the nation longed for. In other words, had the professors (who are progressives) had not held up Carter as the ideal, rather than in truth, the disaster, those who attended college, preparing for life, from the 1970’s onward (even while the nation was “burning” the “professional left” (i.e. university professors and Progressives in general) were holding Carter in high esteem, and, daresay, shocked to the core, when Carter’s policies, both foreign and domestic were booted to the curb. Yes, unanimously, by a vast majority of the states (including Massachusetts), Ronald Ray-Guns (see: Joan Baez) was elected to the Office of the Presidency. At that time, Reagan was not considered the conventional candidate, although a popular Governor of California, the man was an “actor” and fodder for the press, which apparently, from Walter Cronkite to the New York Times, was patently ignored by the voters. Unconventional, not the norm for the Republican National Committee, rather, someone who was considered a bit of a rogue candidate, a “Cowboy” an “Actor”, a “Clown” who in truth was a smart man, who had principals, and has a proven resume when it came to governing. Sound like anyone familiar that may not have announced?

The Comparison: Sarah Palin to Ronald Reagan (and Maggie Thatcher - not pictured) image: Newsrealblog

To those who fear the future and see no end in sight, recall, that 2012 “can’t come soon enough” (Sarah Palin), and that a ship that has almost gone under (see Carter/Obama), can be towed to safety and made ship-shape again, in a few years, if the right person is at the helm. (Note: Choose your GOP candidates carefully as one of them (historically speaking) will be the next President of the United States. The fact is that Obama (historically looking at Carters’ time tables) has no time to make the correction that should have been made pre-Stimulus.

Note: Making comparisons to Ronald Reagan has become some sort of Litmus Test for Conservatives and honestly can be a tad on the ridiculous side, especially when candidates try to out-Reagan each other at Debates. That said, some are obvious. No more or no less so than the Comparison of Policy, Faith in America, the Free Market System, versus, Progressive Values in the Carter/Obama comparison.

Comic George Lopez Threatens to Leave Country if Palin Elected President! Palin Spot on – on Economy “It’s the Spending Stupid” – Obama Support Erodes

George Lopez - Will he leave Obama if Palin Becomes President? Image Daily Mail UK

From: Politico: Comedian, George Lopez is threatening to leave the country should Sarah Palin become President. Lopez, a Californian native, plans on moving to Canada, according to Politico. The comedian suggested that Palin’s lack of experience and the American ability to vote for someone who winks and smiles would be the reason he’d flee the U.S. It almost makes one wonder if Mr. Lopez isn’t somewhat confused, and instead is referring to the current occupant of the White House – who’s on the job training included a short stint in the Illinois State Senate, followed by a shorter stint in the U.S. Senate with previous experience as a “community organizer”. Palin, comparatively speaking, when one is honest, had more in-depth experience in governing than our President in 2008 and some might argue, she still does. Mr. Lopez is the first “Hollywood Celebrity” to threaten to leave the country – al la Susan Sarandon in 2004 – Bush was reelected, Sarandon stayed. One note however, Canada is very strict on its immigration policy; therefore, Mr. Lopez might want to consider say France!

The ongoing, ad nasuem, “sky is falling” rhetoric regarding the “debt crisis” from the White House and media, is beginning to drive the average American to the apathetic stage. From the “Boy Cries Wolf” analogy – one crisis after another starts to become rather ho-hum, from a stalemate in Washington (as if that’s news) to the Presidents’ ridiculous call for American’s to call Congress and ask for a tax increase (OK, that’s not what he said exactly, but it’s what it amounts to), Palin’s take: from the ABC News blog, speaking in an interview, she called the President’s latest “crisis”, “Obama drama”. Note to George Lopez, not only in Palin smart, she’s got a comedic side as well. In addition, she borrowed from the “Economy Stupid” Clintonesque campaign staple, ramping it up to “It’s the Spending Stupid” – which is spot on and hits home for millions of American’s who are just getting by if they have a job, or in some states, on their third year of unemployment, and in many cases, have fallen off the rolls, hearing about Obama’s plan for a $30,000 plus a plate birthday bash on the taxpayers dime? The spend and tax method of governing is obviously not working, and the people “get it”.

A new Washington Post-ABC News Poll (No bias there (wink) – suggests that more American’s are unhappy with Obama on the economy – and that he is losing support among his base. The report also points to the fact that Obama is not alone in this public angst, as respondents (most likely the base they are referring to) continue to blame George Bush, and Republicans in Congress are taking heat for the gridlock over the debt debate (most likely from the same source).

It’s to the point where Vermont’s most cherished Socialist, Senator Bernie Sanders, is suggesting that someone within the Democrat party actually challenge Obama in 2012 (The Hill Blog) Apparently, Senator Sanders believes a challenge would help put the spotlight on Obama during the Republican debates – seriously. He also felt it might be difficult to find someone who wanted to run against an incumbent, however, truth be told; it might be interesting should any Democrat want to jump in the fray – but whom? Perhaps Donald Trump will switch parties again, and run against Obama!! - The Donald, who has hinted that if the Republican Party does not nominate the right person, will run as an independent, and may consider throwing a real wrench in the mix and run as a Democrat! Who wouldn’t want to see that poll right now?
