Idaho and Virginia to Sue Federal Government To Stop Forced Health Care

The State of Idaho'sgovernor has required the State's Attorney General to file suit if President Obama's Health Care Reform Bill forces the citizens of that State to purchase health insurance. The Commonwealth of Virgina followed suit this afternoon. There are thirty-seven other states that are looking at the same option.

Although Democrats consider the suits frivolous, these governors should be applauded for standing with their people. The majority of Americans are opposed to the current legislation.

This is exactly correct. This bill, if enacted, is totally unconstitutional. I would submit the democrats will finally buckle under and vote for it in the house. Like the bolsheviks of old, all but a very few follow the party line. But hey, the latest poll I saw was that 52% of democrats view socialism in a favorable manner. Republicans who viewed it favorably were at 17%.

Talk about a divide!

Hi Ralph, agreed, the way that the administration is going about this is totally ridiculous - it appears they have the votes - (by some standards) and if not, then they'll pass it by a rules change, whereby they won't actually vote on it - so go figure on that one -

On Socialism, I doubt that 50% of those Democrats and the Republican's who "view it favorably" even understand it -

Tina, I agree with you on those that view socialism favorably are probably clueless about it. I don't know what is worse though, an informed population that likes marxism or it's variants or a completely clueless population that still votes for those who embrace that philosophy. With the former you know who the enemy is, with the latter it is impossible to figure it out.

Don't forget I exaggerate occasionally.

Ralph, I hate to tell you - clueless it is - maybe a small minority (college professors, politician's, 60's drop outs) understand it, then again, they have romanticized the concept of Marxism - it's a utopian ideal of society that is not firmly rooted in reality - the truth of the matter is that every socialist or communist society have the very wealthy then there's "the rest of them" - one is either part of the elite - or a peasant (so to speak) - not so hot - no room for growth - and it is passed down from family to family - (kind of like the Kennedy seat) I don't think you exaggerate all that much - you have an opinion - so do I.
