Class Act – Mass. Senator Elect Scott Brown to Visit his Constituants in a State Wide Tour

Newly elected Republican Senator, Scott Brown, will be making several stops over the coming days to thank his supporters as well as reach out to all Massachusetts citizens. True to Brown form (based on his Massachusetts Senate three-term history – archives available here), he makes sure that his constituents come first.

Brown: “We won this election thanks to the grassroots support of the people, and I want to personally show how much I appreciate that support and tell them that I will always strive to be an independent voice in Washington,” said Brown. “I’m looking forward to seeing some familiar faces from the campaign trail, but I hope to see lots of new faces as well because I don’t just want to be the Senator of those who supported me. I want to be the Senator for all of the people of Massachusetts.”

One cannot recall any other duly elected Senator (or Member of Congress) from the Commonwealth personally stopping to say a word of thanks after an election. Some may argue that Brown has yet to be seated, so he has the time – but now that the State of the Union has aired, one can bet he’ll be heading to Washington. He could have found something else to do, surely, readying himself to make the trip to Washington, but instead he chose to visit his constituents, he will be, after all, caring for the “peoples’ seat”.

Good Morning Tina ... when I read this morning's post, I just had to make you aware that Scott Brown's campaign personnel sent me the most warm and gracious email thanking my wife and I for our support. Scott Brown is the genuine article!!!

Hi Jimmy, you know it's funny; all it takes is courtesy and some common sense as to who works for whom. Scott Brown gets it, Mike Huckabee gets it - amazing - got this mailer from my Congressman this past week, touting his offices and what he's doing for his constituents - haven't seen one of those in two years! - (last time he was up for re-election). This time, he's got a solid challenger or two, and that is the story across the State - they are not "Scott Brown" (he's a rarity), but, they are capable challengers, able to do the job at hand, and willing to work for the people not the glory. That's the difference. Being a legislator should not be a career. You should visit the Mass. Legislatures website, we've got Reps and State Senators who, the majority, list their "occupation" as - get this "legislator" Public service should not be a career, rather a calling, with an eye towards serving a few terms and then handing it over - term limits, I'm all for them.

Hi Jimmy, went to the Scott Brown event today in Chicopee, here's the thing - 1st he drove his truck, second there was a capacity crowd - the Globe quoted 800 (and interviewed me and my co-worker - of course, the quotes were not completely accurate story here but that said, the man took the time to thank and shake the hand of every single person in that room - Frankly, he's the real deal. I'm hoping that there is someone, just as real, in Michigan who will be willing to put themselves out there for the State and for the nation.
