People Are Angry – US Media Misses the Mark - Canadian Media Hits the Nail on the Head

If the majority of US news outlets and the journalists for whom they opine had their sway, the election would be a foregone conclusion, no need to cast a vote, Obama would be the President. However, due to the current climate that has sprung from a financial fiasco (Freddie and Fannie) (which should normally help the Democrats), along with voter Fraud charges in at least 12 states by Obama’s former employer, client and paid “get-out-the-vote” group, ACORN, the media is beginning to feel some of the scorn which, up until now, has been reserved for politicians alone (with the exception of the New York Times). They fail to understand or cannot comprehend why the public would turn on them so; after all; it is their duty to inform and educate the public – again - unfortunate for them, the public has more than one outlet available to them in order to make an informed decision on the political landscape. Should the likes of CBS and NBC and ABC l not investigate a candidate who has no background, or accurately find out who is responsible for the financial crisis and Fannie Mae, then the people will do it themselves. How bad is it for CBS? Fox News’ Bill O’Reillypulled in more viewers last week than the CBS Evening News (Couric’s hatchet job on Palin.). The fact of the matter - the media has and continues to protect a chosen candidate while doing anything in its declining power to knock out the opposition, former media darling John McCain. The problem, people are aware and, like those shown in the videos below, including a video of Farrakan calling Obama the Messiah - they are pretty angry.

Both Fox and CNN showed clips of a McCain rally in Wisconsin yesterday, McCain was at once encouraged by those in the audience to please start naming names and standing up for the folks. One man refused to sit down and spoke until he was finished. Obama’s ties to socialists and his involvement and membership in a socialist party had this gentleman unnerved. Of course, the Obama Truth Squad (otherwise known as CBS, NBC and company), have done no investigation into this man’s background, taking for granted, whatever is printed on the Obama Truth Squad Website. Once upon a time, the media believed that average people were truly stupid, unsophisticated, and easily led – times have changed. Now the people know how stupid the media is and just how easily led, and if that is not the case, many believe them to be accomplices. This anger towards the media and their evident bias, boiled over with “attacks” on a group in Jacksonville – the media was shocked, hurt, amazed! (Verbal abuse never hurt anyone)? Mary Mitchell (Chicago Sun Times columnist) in a fit of hysteria misrepresented a Washington Post article and used that twisted logic to demand Palin to apologize to Obama. Although, the media is downplaying Obama’s socialist ties, they are easily found; just head to Vermont, where Obama held a fundraiser for Sanders, the only Socialist Senator in the Country. A video on YouTube of the event is available here however, the owner will not allow this video to be embedded – why? Obama continues to deny his associations (and what else many wonder), the press continues to deflect and defend and the people are furious.

Acorn (CBS calls ACORN a non-profit in reports) and the Fannie Mae mess are one story with many facets, all tying Socialist leaning Democrats to Obama’s favorite organization. When begged to name names (video below), McCain finally does so, and additionally mentions that there is plenty of information to back up the fact that Barney Frank and Chris Dodd (and others, including Obama) had their hands dirty. This may be news to the media; however, it’s not news to anyone with a computer and the ability to find “Google”. The fact that voter fraud is rampant in a minimum of twelve states (see video below of Cleveland Ohio woman who was harassed endlessly by ACORN until she registered multiple times); prodded McCain to call for investigations. One would think that in Ohio, specifically, early ballots cast would be recalled and rechecked under extreme scrutiny, and that standard should apply to all states where ACORN has an office. (If the shoe fits, one must be wearing it - so to speak.) It has nothing to do with poverty or race, as Sen. Reid implies, it has everything to do with treating everyone equally under the law (something that is allowed to be broken by certain Community Organizations with ties to a certain Illinois Senator running for President.)

It is not too little too late - the Republican Base and Independent voters not polled by CNN, CBS, ABC, NBS and MSNBC (the later both owned by GE, who stock took a dive this week - any questions?), agree that it is time to get serious. If the aforementioned networks as well as other overly sympathetic media outlets (and they know who they are), do not clean up their act and go back to being journalist and reporters; they may all end up like Air America. It isn’t as if this shenanigans is not being noticed by press elsewhere. What is most galling is that the Canadian Free Press is doing a better job of vetting Obama, that the US press. In the Article entitled “Huffington Post and Tag Team Cover-up of Obama’s ACORN Days”, the Canadian Free Press does what the American Press has failed to do – Report! One has to be embarrassed at this turn of events.

An Excerpt Here:

“And as I write this post, news is circulating that police in Las Vegas, Nevada, raided the local ACORN office. Authorities allege that ACORN canvassers “falsified forms with bogus names, fake addresses or famous personalities.” The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports “that most members of the Dallas Cowboys appeared to be registering in Nevada to vote in November’s general election.” And in Ohio, ACORN admits voter fraud is just part of doing business.

Meanwhile, the HuffPost denies that Project Vote is now and has for years been the voter mobilization arm of ACORN. But now that ACORN is getting bad press by the bushel, HuffPost writer Seth Colter Walls argues that when Barack Obama ran Project Vote in 1992 it wasn’t technically a part of ACORN. (Background: Walls’s original post criticizing Seton Motley of the Media Research Center is here; Motley’s post in response is here; and my post in response to Walls’s original post is here.) “.

The above is an example of what American Journalist should be doing, but because they have been blinded by politically ideology, or in collusion with a Progressive Socialist agenda, they are incapable. The America People will speak and it will not be kind, to both the media as well as the party of Frank, Reid, Pelosi, Dodd, Kerry and Obama. Therefore, should criminal charges be filed any time soon, should they not include those who may now enjoy a much abused “freedom”? My friends, this can only get uglier.

I agree. Let's fight media bias together. There's been a lot of talk in the corporate media about a Obama/Ayers "association". Some claim that it's been a long time coming.

But I'm still waiting for John McCain to denounce his unwholesome relationship with G. Gordon Liddy. Where is the moral outrage, and who hears cries of conspiracy from the Right regarding mainstream media's suppression of this story?

Read the nasty details in THIS LINK to an article from May.

Here are some highlights:

“How close are McCain and Liddy? At least as close as Obama and Ayers appear to be. In 1998, Liddy's home was the site of a McCain fundraiser. Over the years, he has made at least four contributions totaling $5,000 to the senator's campaigns -- including $1,000 this year.

Last November, McCain went on his radio show. Liddy greeted him as "an old friend," and McCain sounded like one. "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of your family," he gushed. "It's always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon, and congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great.
Which principles would those be? The ones that told Liddy it was fine to break into the office of the Democratic National Committee to plant bugs and photograph documents? The ones that made him propose to kidnap anti-war activists so they couldn't disrupt the 1972 Republican National Convention? The ones that inspired him to plan the murder (never carried out) of an unfriendly newspaper columnist?

Liddy was in the thick of the biggest political scandal in American history -- and one of the greatest threats to the rule of law. He has said he has no regrets about what he did, insisting that he went to jail as "a prisoner of war."

All this may sound like ancient history. But it's from the same era as the bombings Ayers helped carry out as a member of the Weather Underground. And Liddy's penchant for extreme solutions has not abated.

In 1994, after the disastrous federal raid on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, he gave some advice to his listeners: "Now if the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms comes to disarm you and they are bearing arms, resist them with arms. Go for a head shot; they're going to be wearing bulletproof vests. ... Kill the sons of bitches."

He later backed off, saying he meant merely that people should defend themselves if federal agents came with guns blazing. But his amended guidance was not exactly conciliatory: Liddy also said he should have recommended shots to the groin instead of the head. If that wasn't enough to inflame any nut cases, he mentioned labeling targets "Bill" and "Hillary" when he practiced shooting.”

Dear Merge and Divide,

I’m glad to see your taking a foray into politics, it is crucial that every side is heard; which was the point of this article. I think you missed it entirely, so I will offer you a brief synopsis:
1), the American media is literally campaigning for Obama
2), the Canadian Press will report on negatives re: Obama that the American press will not touch
3), the backlash to the American Press is not only angry citizens demanding a return to objective journalism, but in advertising dollars going elsewhere, which has already led a decline in subscriptions and advertisers for major us daily papers, as well as a decline in viewership for CBS evening news. This is due to the absolute transparency of the media in its desire to push a political agenda. If the trend continues, and it looks as if it may, then there will be more newsroom layoffs, and more reporters out of a job. The problem stems from the fact that 50% of the country votes on way, and 50% the other, we are divided – and the media is part of the problem and the backlash is apparent - it is not the internet (as reports suggest that newspaper websites are doing as well as their paper counterparts, therefore, the writing is on the proverbial wall.
That was the point of the article.
To address your issues with McCain/Liddy: Liddy took a bullet for Nixon, the crime, if you recall, was wiretapping a DNC office. Now, as a conservative, although a criminal offense, it is a far cry from blowing up government buildings and murdering people. Regardless of what Liddy may or may not have said in relationship to the Branch Dividians (that fiasco belongs to Reno), it is one thing to speak, it is another to act – Ayers committed the acts, he did not say “We should blow up the Pentagon and a judge’s house!” He actually went out and did just that. However, that said, Ayers association with Obama is not the problem that conservatives have with the man, another point you have missed (you need to do more independent research), the problem is that Obama denied spending time with Ayers, (which is patently false) he also denied hearing a word of hate come from Rev. Wright after spending 20 years in the same church, and he never was familiar with ACORN; yet he was their lawyer; there is nothing about his meddling in an election in Kenya for his cousin, even though one can find references on a CBS website out of Chicago going all the way back to 2006! The press dismisses Ayers and paints him as an American Hero who has repented, they dismiss Write, become Obama no longer attends the church, they dismiss ACORN – (CBS: A non-profit organization was raided by federal agents – they know that the American people can connect the dots, yet they persist). That is the problem, and that is what this article relates to.

While I appreciate the summary of your rather long-winded and hevily-biased article, I found your defense of Liddy hypocritical and baseless.

Have a good day.

Tina Hemond said...

Dear Merge and Divide,
Your original comment was appreciated, however, as it had nothing to do with the topic - Ayers is not, repeat not, mentioned in that piece. I thought a summary was in order – You cannot seriously compare Liddy to Ayers, it’s unthinkably naive – your defense of Ayers and attack on Liddy were baseless – You need more sources – your choice of reference was a Chicago Tribune Article (biased) and your blog – A word on that – judging from a quick perusal – your blog contains more than a bit of bias! (As well as some nifty beach and gambling stories). Here’s the deal – (Atlantic City? A Jewel? Seriously, you need to go to Vegas) – my opinion piece was regarding media bias towards McCain and conservatives in general (while defending criminals in order to sway the court of public opinion) – had your comment been directed at the media as a whole being unbiased and totally not in the thank for Obama - then there would have been a very polite, “I agree to disagree.” However, you went off into left field (literally) so I thought you needed a summary – (and a sense of humor). Please feel free to continue to comment, but I suggest you read the articles first (no matter how long-winded and heavily biased I might appear to you), then stick to the context of the article – this will work anywhere you plan on posting - you’ll make sense! (Perhaps)

Actually I think your responses were fairly polite under the circumstances, and I appreciate that. We'll just agree to disagree, as I honestly think McCain's ongoing relationship with Liddy is more problematic than Obama's cooperation with Ayers over education reform. Still, all of McCain's sketchy associations (and there are very many of them that are not being covered by the press, which puts the lie to your claim of widespread media bias against "conservatives") aren't the deal-breaker for his candidacy. It's his erratic temperament, his hyper-aggressive foreign policy posturing, and his fealty to both the oil industry and military industry complex that have me voting against him.

Totally off the topic: I can't figure out how you thought I was extolling the virtues of Atlantic City. I don't think you read it that closely. Also, I abhor gambling. (And that's another reason why I believe McCain would be a dangerous president).

I'd like to say something to you Merge Divide, along with your fellow Democrats … as well as … those independents who have not yet made up their minds (and I know that you are out there) especially those of you who are leaning toward Obama. I want to ask you a question. Actually … I want you to ask yourselves a simple question. Apart from wanting “change” … apart from wanting a fresh face in the White House, apart from wanting somebody you think speaks well … you need to take a deep, deep, deep look inside yourselves and ask this: "What exactly has Obama ever done in his life? What has he done as a state senator, what has he done as a United States senator … that proves leadership? Why is it that Joe Biden has been rejected time and again in the Democrat primaries (receiving less than 1% in the Iowa caucuses)? What suddenly makes either of these men leaders? What suddenly makes them qualified? Simply because Obama got the nomination and he chose Biden?" When you examine Obama's career, you basically see two things, and only two things. You see a man who has spent his life both as a college and law student … and as an adult … you see a man who has worked hand-in-hand with known domestic terrorists.

Ayers is merely the tip of the iceberg Mr. Divide. And oh by the way … for the record … Liddy was a burglar, not a terrorist … While Ayers only regret is that he didn’t do more.

Now, I know you know this, and I know you want to sweep it under the rug because I know you just don't want to believe it, even though you know it. But do you not think that this is truly extraordinary? William Ayers and others from the Weather Underground are responsible for being a part of a terrorist wave in this country that murdered police officers. To downplay this or dismiss it as "guilt by association" is to be shortsighted and make a mistake. I don't believe most Democrats or independents find this kind of thing acceptable behavior.

Barack Obama has shown a continued pattern, throughout his adult life of choosing … as well as participating with … the wrong crowd.

What kind of man sits in the pews of a church where his preacher spews hate about his own country … hate for Jews, hate for whites, hate for blacks who don't agree with him … and then says he had no idea his preacher was saying any of these things? Again, I ask you to look deep inside yourselves, ask yourselves if you see such a man representing your country as president of the United States.

You see … the Obama campaign has done a wonderful job (they really have) of silencing and intimidating anybody who dares to speak these things. His radicalness … that is the associations he has with fellow radicals. They have directed the media to attack those who have raised these hugely important facts. They call us McCarthyites. And I’m talking about the likes of you Mr. Divide. Because I’m quite certain that you know this is nonsense.

We choose our friends … We choose our associates … We choose our churches … We choose our pastors. This is a matter of Obama's free will and voluntary association. Obama's campaign and the media have done a terrific job of trying to take a radical and persuade you that he is a mainstream, centrist Democrat. He is no such thing. He's part of the old guard, the socialist left, the appeasement left. There's nothing new, there's nothing fresh about anything to do with Obama. Radicalism comes dressed in many ways … and this time it's dressed up as Barack Obama, and he's doing his best to hide who he really is from you as all extreme leftist radicals do.

Obama does not represent moderate or conservative Democrats. He makes fun of them! He laughs at them. He condescends to you. It was the moderate and conservative Democrats, he was talking about when he talked about the bitter clingers at the San Francisco fundraiser. He does not represent Reagan Democrats … I would dare say he doesn't actually even represent FDR-type liberals. This is a man that goes to Europe and he dumps on his own country. He gives speech after speech tearing down all that has been built in this nation by our parents … our grandparents and our great grandparents. He constantly criticizes the things that have made this country great. He arrogantly insists that despite his lack of success anywhere in the private sector … or even as a state senator or US senator … that he possesses all the wisdom necessary to manage the entire economy, to determine how much each of us should make, how much each of us should give up to people who he decides deserve more.

There's nothing new about this, there's nothing hopeful about it, and it is not change that we want or need. Oh sure … Obama wants “change”. He wants to change the American system for another system … a system that is foreign to you and me but which has been talked about and written about for 150 years. It's promoted in colleges and universities among far-left professors. It has been pounded into Obama's head by the likes of Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright his entire adult life. If somebody tells you, for example, they want the federal government to take over the health care system lock, stock, and barrel, what do you call that? If somebody tells you they want the federal government to run the human resources departments of every private entity in this country, deciding who should get paid what and what benefits they should receive … then what do you call that Mr. Divide?

If somebody says, "We need to raise taxes on pensioners by increasing the capital gains tax when they sell their equities," what do we call this? When someone says that we need to increase taxes on anyone who earns $42,000 or more, what do we call that? When somebody says that we need to increase taxes on every small business in the country that makes $250,000 a year, what do we call that? Well, I'll tell you what Obama calls it. He calls it middle class tax relief.

It is nothing of the sort … Obama intends no tax relief for anybody. This is the agenda of a person who has never had a real job in this country, much less ever run a business, much less ever made a payroll. He has never held a real job in this country.

By that I mean one that requires you to get up every morning, go to work, make a profit for yourself or for your employer. He has been paid by foundations and the taxpayer most of his life … to promote a socialist agenda that will destroy everything that you have worked for and your parents and their parents worked for. He's out to destroy it. Let me put it this way … How smart are all of the people who think this guy is brilliant because of the way he speaks … could you snap out of that for a second? I understand the idea that you want to be proud of the president, you want people around the world to be proud, and you think a bumbling, stumbling, stuttering president embarrasses you? Get past that. You're looking at a bumbling, stumbling, embarrassing guy, if Obama gets anywhere near the Oval Office.

How smart do you have to be to raise taxes and spend other people's money? That's what we're talking about here. Obama is a man who has authored a bill (one of the few, by the way) that would require you, the hard-working people of this country, to pony up $85 billion per year to give to other countries to fight global poverty through the United Nations! In other words, he would take the New Deal and the Great Society and export them to the Third World where you will be responsible for paying for it. Does this sound like a moderate or a centrist Democrat to you? Does it sound like a centrist independent moderate to you?

I’m curious if you’ve ever served in the military Mr. Divide? If you have then I would ask of you to name anything Obama has done prior to running for president to show his support for the military.
Did he speak to veterans groups? Did he do interviews with veteran and military-related media? Did he visit military hospitals and shake hands with the wounded?" If you are not familiar Merge Man, than let me tell you … the answers are all “No!” In Berlin, he specifically canceled such things. What's he done for you? What's he done for our military? He hasn't done anything. What he has done is impugn them. What he has done is impugn their mission. What he has done is attempt to block their success on the battlefield and around the world. This man, Barack Obama, was invested … along with Harry Reid and Dick Durbin … in the defeat of the United States and the United States Military.

He believes, along with his brother from Illinois, Senator Durbin, that American interrogators and soldiers are no different than Pol Pot's thugs, the people that ran the Soviet gulags, and Nazi commandants. Durbin said it while they were attempting to secure defeat in the Iraq war. Barack Obama believes the same things. He didn't start wearing the American flag lapel pin until a few months ago, and he didn't start putting his hand over his heart during the National Anthem until a few months ago. Did he support the surge in Iraq? No. Did he vote to fund the troops, to send them the armor and the bullets and reinforcement they needed while they were on the battlefield? No. He spoke out against it, all of it! Once again, Obama's frame of reference is the far left.

He spent his years in Chicago working with radical, pro-Palestinian elements, although today he says he's pro-Israel. But again, where's the evidence for this? There is none. Our allies have much to fear in an Obama presidency. Our enemies have nothing to fear. Yet the Media continually tell us that polls they take of citizens of the world, desperately want Barack Obama. Nobody who understands what's at stake … nobody who has taken the time to delve into who Obama is … wants him anywhere near the presidency of the United States, except our enemies.

Let me be blunt about this. Not only is the appeasement left in Europe thrilled about the prospect of an Obama presidency, but so, too, are our enemies. Our enemies tremble at the thought of a McCain-Palin victory. Our enemies will celebrate an Obama-Biden win. Our enemies parrot Democrat Party talking points.

Surely this concerns you greatly Mr. Divide?

Obama says that we wouldn't have the financial crisis if we had saved all this money by not going to Iraq. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the supreme leader, president of Iran, says the same thing. The Iranians will immediately send Obama an invitation to meet with them because they heard what he said about no preconditions, and Obama will go, as a citizen of the world, to show that his presence on the scene can make a big difference. Just as Neville Chamberlain went back in the 1930s to meet with Hitler, Obama will also declare some kind of diplomatic victory just as Chamberlain did in the thirties. And Iran will take it all to mean that they can act with impunity and Obama won't do a thing about it … and guess what Mr. Divide … they're right … because he won't.

What do you think the little democrat countries around Russia think about this election? What do you think they're hoping? Who do you think they hope will win? Obama's first words after Russia invaded Georgia, was to urge both sides to stand down! Let me tell you … Vladimir Putin is wetting his pants in excitement over the prospects of an Obama presidency … so too are the ChiComs … so too is Hugo Chavez … so too is Raul Castro … so too is Kim Jong Il (or whoever it is running that terrorist nation).

It is very evident that the single greatest threat to our national security is a Barack Obama in the Oval Office, endorsed by Hamas, with friends who are terrorists. You want to tell me that McCain relationship with Liddy is the same? You want to tell me that Obama has got something against terrorists around the world when his best friend is one, when he is endorsed by terrorists, and when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad repeats his talking points?

Nice try all of you Merge Divide’s of the world.

Oh … I almost forgot … when I asked you above to think about what Barack Obama has done … I forgot that he taught us about the tire gauge … and how the tire gauge can save us from having to drill for new oil!

I'm sorry … with all this Obama/terrorists association … It must have slipped my mind.

james,

Your post (besides being excruciatingly long-winded, uninspired, unoriginal and presumptuous) is filled with half-truths and outright lies.

You are wrong about Obama's record, his qualifications, the Obama/Ayers connection, his policies and his positions. And you display your vast depths of ignorance by referring to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as the "the supreme leader, president of Iran". Why should I take someone serious when they don't even know the basic facts about foreign policy?

You're basically simply repeating the talking points you received in your Rush Limbaugh mass e-mailings.

If you want to get specific and have a dialog with me, then fine. But I'm not going to waste my time trading vast meandering monologues with you.

James and Merge (you’re on a nickname basis now),
Merge, I’m always polite, no need to lower the standards of debate, regardless of opposing viewpoints. Continuing to agree to disagree – you see McCain and erratic and his foreign policy as hyper-aggressive, I see Obama as inexperienced, lacking the ability to make sound judgments (Kenya) and his associations with dubious organizations and individuals, the key to my support for McCain. (On your articles re: Atlantic City, I was being ironic, thus the sense of humor remark). I welcome opposing viewpoints and the debate that ensues.
James is spot on – Merge, you really need to understand that there are more sources of information available today that one can shake a stick at – what has happened here, (my perspective), is this: James has taken the time to research, he understands history and is well versed as to consequence (history is yesterday, my friend) (humor!) – You tell James he is long-winded, etc., (believe you have given me the same treatment), yet, when you tell him he is wrong about all of his positions, you do not give any reference as to why he is wrong – you do not adequately defend your position – it is either that you choose to dismiss and not take the time, or that the position is indefensible. Obama’s qualifications as a community organizer, state senator and one term US Senator, are what they are, in your eyes, sufficient, in mine, not so much, there is a problem with his association, peoples perceptions of who one pals around with are obviously a problem – with you, it is some minor tie to Liddy that has you off the wall about McCain, with conservatives, it is Obama’s associations with Ayers, Wright, ACORN, Resko, etc. McCain, unlike Obama, has not attempted to disassociate himself with anyone; the website has not changed consistently with the force of public opinion (unlike Obama’s). It is what it is – you throw out isms left and right (ok, from the left at the right) – Rush Limbaugh! (Where’s Dick Cheney in this, you haven’t mentioned him yet?), right-wing talking points, when, young Merge, you do the same (NPR, and left-wing talking points). On the Supreme Leader, President of Iran – that’s his title, look it up (there are several flowery ways to address that man) – The Tehran Times is linked on my site. (Perspective Links) Listen, take a look at those links, read opposing points of view – people who read the New York Times and listen to CNN or MSNBC alone, (and NPR) are no different that those who only watch FOX and/or get their news from Town Hall, you need to diversify and I would ask that you defend Obama – for example, let us know about his college career, how high a GPA he had, what his thesis may be about, debunk his connection to Bill Ayers with articles and references, defend his policies and his positions with links (I know you can – and will allow you to be just as long-winded) debunk the half-truths and outright lies with evidence, and should that not be possible, politely, agree to disagree with someone, without denigrating their credentials. James, is far from uninspired, he’s hardly presumptuous, he just happens to be right, and supports his argument with facts. I appreciate every single time he posts, because he is engaged in the argument. Again, I welcome you to do the same, be engaging, but back it up on Obama with facts, you’ve given us the McCain/Liddy connection, now, you can treat us to all those facts about Obama (please include ACORN, debunk his campaign’s $800,000 payment to the same organization to get out the vote, which was falsely reported by the camp aging - which would be in error, benefit of doubt).

Good Morning ... the only non truths here, Mr. Divide, is either your unwillingness or complete inability to recognize the veracity of realities ... I'm afraid the rhetoric has become your blinders ... I asked you to think ... really think about it ... because I know you know the truth. When you're searching your heart, try to not focus on only the left ventricle. In regards to your Rush Limbaugh comments, I say thank you. That man is the ultimate truth detector, despite his showboating and on the edge commentary. Understand Mr. Divide that the comments I share are merely those of every red blooded American that understands what this country is all about ... our history ... our family ... our compassion ... and our love. If Socialism or Totalitarianism were the answer, then why do you think that so many, over all these years, have fled their own countries to settle in America? Opportunity ... financially and otherwise ... and oh yes Mr. Divide ... freedom. The very freedom that gives us all the right to say or believe whatever we choose. And that is precisely the freedom I pray that my children's children's children will enjoy, and prosper, for decades, and centuries, to come. And just as those prayers are for all of your family's future as well Mr. Divide, I ask you to once again look deep, deep, deep, into your heart to find the answer that I know, you know, to be truthful.

This is what I meant by presumptuous (when I was referring to James). If you've ever taken the time to visit my blog, you have seen that I've invested an inordinate amount of time, energy and thought into the issues. Because I have been polite enough to refrain from cut-and-pasting large portions of my blog on to your comment thread, you are free to make whatever assumptions you want without the pain of verifying them.

I extend to James the same invitation.

If you don't want to take the time to read about it while it's already available, why would you ask me to repeat it all on this forum?

Tina Hemond said...

Good Morning Merge, Here's the deal, If you want to cut and paste and include links to defend Obama, please do, I don't mind - you stated taht James made comments re: Obama that were flat-out lies. I asked you to defend him - what better forum to defend Obama than a conservative blog? If you are concerened about length - just post the links to the proof that James lied about Obama's record (use the Senate's website, it clearly shows how each Senator votes), his qualifications, (link and list), and his Ayers connection (again link and list the proof that there is no connection) (Although I'd be more interested in his $800,000 campaign payment to ACORN) and his positions and policies (which I feel are just a matter of you would agree being liberal, James and I might disagree due to being Conservative). I am inviting you to voice your concerns and your evidence to support Obama. You have an opportunity here, to change a mind, why not take it?

Merge Divide said...

Tina,

I never claimed that there was no connection between Obama and Ayers, but rather that it was tenuous and already explained more than adequately by the Obama campaign.

I am satisfied with the explanation he gave yesterday at the debate, and the same goes with whatever association there is with ACORN. If these were my concerns, I'd argue with you about them. But I simply don't care about those things. They will have no bearing on how Obama governs.

James asked me why I would vote for Obama... the following link explains my rationale...
