Good News and the American Hero - Hard to Find - Worth the Search

Tired of reading and watching daily news articles with headlines touting murder-suicide, bombings, gang shootings, fatal car crashes, sex offenders, failed schools, failed parents, failed government and failed economy, one should be able to find good news somewhere. This is not a simple task. Armed with a list of links to television news stations in fifty states, the following “good news” stories were found. Happy Monday.

Boise Idaho Teenager pulls toddler from burring Vehicle KIVI – Boise Brooke Garcia, a Caldwell High School senior, saved a child from a burning vehicle on the Interstate.

Davenport Iowa A Quad City Woman Competes In Bake-Off Finals From KWQC. Norita Solt has advanced to the Pillsbury Bake Off finals. The recipe that propelled her to the finals: “Sunny Morning Star Biscuit SoufflĂ©”.

From KFYR, North Dakota A three year old, Tara, makes a donation to “Locks of Love”. Tara said: “I’m going to give my hair to sick buddies with no hair”.

From News6 in Tulsa:Heroic Teen Saves 5 year old neighbor from dog attack.

Stories that are heartwarming, highlight the good in our youth (our nations hope) and even those stories that may be campy, are the tidbits that bring hope to a nation that is weary of the never-ending crime and political bickering that is dosed out in heaping portions every minute of every day. Of course, hard news sells, and one should know if a terrorist is on the loose in the neighborhood, yet if each outlet would only balance the bad with the good, the forecast would be a good deal brighter.
