It's My Party and I'll Cry if I Want to.

There is little light on the horizon when a two-party system holds the Republic upon an apparent and never-ending road to bungling madness. Partisan politics are playing a hand in the sharing of information that is deemed classified and crucial to the nation’s security. Mary McCarthy, a Clinton administration hold-over within the CIA, gave the store away as fast as she could all in the name of the "I Hate George Bush Club". This has become a sickness. In fact, I write with little doubt that some sort of insanity defense would be entered on Ms. McCarthy's behalf if the correct charges of treason were brought against her and the correct sentence was on the table. (A sweep of the agency may be in order: remove those "like-minded" individuals before another lucky journalist wins a Pulitzer by jeopardizing the nation's safety. First Amendment my.....)

What is the problem with poor Mary? She is blinded by ideology that is stale and has become so rooted in the "I hate Bush" mantra, that it is no longer a political policy - it is a cult.

A while ago, I was speaking with a dear friend, an intelligent woman, one who has both oars in the water so to speak, and the subject came to politics. She uttered one phrase: "I hate Bush". I asked her simply "Why?” thinking I would receive a good answer and a reason to debate. I was horrified, and somewhat saddened when the response was "I don't like his face".

Fortunately, my dear friend does not vote. She sees no point. She reads the papers; all is doom and gloom

I believe there is a reason why, in spite of dire predictions from a press and a consistent drumbeat of barely concealed contempt for this administration, the same has lost credibility with the American's voters, not with the people, but with those actually going to the polls.

What is needed?

A Reform Party.

A Party of the People so to speak

A Party based on the principles of our Republican Government

A Party of reasoned individuals

A Party with answers; new solutions, different agendas - not finger pointing.

A Party who's august leaders do not travel to foreign lands insulting the current administration and all American's.

In other words, a party designed to be a true opposition party.

Why? Do we not have a two-party system?

Not for long. As long as business as usual runs the DNC, the body politic will become more marginalized with each election.

Eventually disappearing.

What issues are new and critical?

The environment? - we have laws in place, and lawyers as well.

Civil Rights? - ibid

Labor Laws? - There established to protect the worker - Unions in most instances are no longer relevant and are only in existence to feed one political party.

The DNC has nothing.

Perhaps.

Hillary Clinton in a recent interview with the Daily News made some stunning statements, along with the point that she does not wish to become "categorized".

There were several key points made regarding immigration but most impressive:

She's in favor of a fence -- protecting our borders.

Now that's a topic that will make or break the upcoming elections. National Security.

Senator Clinton should do her party and the nation a favor by unseating the irrational Dr. Dean and taking the Helm of the DNC, in a sweeping Reform of the party; I believe the results would be stunning.

Moderation is the key to success.

Those neither to the right or the left sway an election one way or the other.

It is always those in the middle, or those that are "Independent Minded" who are the ultimate deciders. When a presidential election is determined by 3 or 4 percentage points and independent voters contribute that and more to the total electorate, it is time for a certain party to grasp some rational straws and start sucking up sanity before it is too late.

The party that:

Enforces current immigration laws and secures our borders, actively works for energy reform, pursues terrorists and places our national security above all else and initiates and implements sweeping reforms within the intelligence community as it relates to the press: In other words, prosecutes those giving vital information to aid and comfort out enemies (i.e. Mary McCarthy), with treason. Where a party that embraces all peoples and understands that conservatism is is not grounded in one party, one culture, one gender, one race in our great Republic? That party will ultimately be the one party of the American People. The opposition party will, of course, exist, but a 10, 15, 20 or even 30 percent representative body does not a democracy make. Fortunately, as pointed out here and there, we reside in the Republic of these United States; therefore the collapse of one political party will not make or break the bank.

Current Two-Party definitions: The Republican Party was established in 1854 by a coalition of former Whigs, Northern Democrats, and Free-Soilers who opposed the expansion of slavery and held a Hamiltonian (See Federalist Papers, framing of the Constitution, The Constitution) vision for modernizing the United States. *Notice this party was formed from the remnants of other political parties and schools of thoughts. On the other hand, the Democratic Party under its present name was established by Andrew Jackson during the 1820s, but it traces (allegedly) its origins to Thomas Jefferson (who believed that the masses were dangerous and ignorant, and should be well managed by the "elite") and the Democratic-Republican Party in 1792. Currently, the Democratic Party is the minority party in the United States Senate and the House of Representatives. Democrats control 20 state legislatures and 22 governorships. *Definitions provided by Wikepedia.com, commentary added for perspective.

Does this Reform party exist? Perhaps it does. Perhaps it is the Party of Lincoln, the party that embraces all American's and offers compassion and tax cuts! Or will a new Phoenix Rise out of the ashes out of Andrew (Impeachment) Jackson's Party?
