Now as to the accuracy of this transcript one might have some reservations, however, the point of the release is evident - it is a statement on the Press today. Why would the LA Times refuse to release the tape? If the tape is not damaging the transcript and tape would be all over it's website and YouTube, however, the Times continues to withhold the tape; which leads to speculation that they've got something to hide. This speculation is not unwarranted given the history of certain press outlets, including the Times to slant (being kind here) articles in the direction of Obama. Although it is generally agreed among journalists and editors and lawyers that the tape belongs to the Times and it is their prerogative to release or not to release, it is also the prerogative of their subscribers to cancel the paper, including a boycott of their website and all related products.

There is no doubt they would not have as much of an issue with "journalistic integrity" if the tape was of a John McCain meeting with the KKK.
Hello Chuck and Straight Talk - Chuck, there is no question the media is biased - the question is - if there is nothing amiss with the tape, why not release it? That would quell any rumors (see the original intent of this article) re: Obama and associations with radical minded individuals - the likelihood of McCain holding a meeting with KKK is zero - would not happen - John McCain's most controversial move was to choose Palin as his running mate, and that's only because it rattled the left - now. Straight Talk on McCain - give me a break - blog profile suggests you are an independent - yet not one negative post re: Obama out of multiple posts began on a blog created in September of this year? - Of course, the articles you write, like mine, are opinion based, yet, strangely similar to those found on the Kos or Huffington Post? As to Khalidi, the fact that he is a professor (now at Columbia, previously at Chicago, teaching alongside Ayers and Obama), does not negate the fact that he supported the PLO, avidly. Perhaps you found the PLO to be a benign group? Now, foundations - those that chair foundations, like McCain, are not always aware of what groups that are designated non-profit are feeding from the trough - that is the most ridiculous assertion re: McCain yet.
