Jeff Beatty, Republican Candidate for Senate MA, is siding with 70% of the populous nationwide in a call to drill for oil (offshore and anywhere else we might have a barrel). He is running against incumbent John Kerry (D) who is in favor of allowing anyone but a US oil company to drill offshore. (Cuba and China are apparently OK) Kerry is fearful that a US Oil Company may make a profit by drilling within the United States. (Note: Democrat Primary takes place on September 16, at which time, Beatty will absolutely know if he will be facing John Kerry or possibly Ed O’Reilly.)
The Democrats in Congress are sitting on their hands watching the economy tank, because somewhere back in their collective brain, they believe that a bad economy is good for their party. Pelosi, Reid and company know full well, that should they lift the Congressional ban on oil there would be an immediate impact – the speculators would lower expectations, and the price would drop like a rock – which would be good for consumers.
Republicans know this, and the last thing the Democrats want is another issue that the Republicans are right about (see: Surge in Iraq)
Jeff Beatty is just plain smart to take a strong stand on drilling our own oil and promoting U.S. Self-Sufficiency. It would behoove every Republican running for office, or not, to follow Jeff’s example. Those Democrats running (incumbent or otherwise) in states that are affected by winter woes, are excellent targets.
While Kerry is out there posing for photographs with four young tipsy and Underage (ack.net) hotties on Nantucket, the price per barrel of oil keeps climbing. John Kerry’s bad judgment regarding issues important to Massachusetts residents, along with his bad judgment in general, may be why 51% of the states voters thought he should find employment elsewhere, of course, that was in earlier this summer.

Wow a new low on your blog. You link to an article that tells the story then don't even show the facts.
Two of the girls in the photos, who asked not to be identified, were both 2006 graduates of Nantucket High School. They said they were “hanging out with friends” on the boat tied up in the Nantucket Boat Basin when Sen. Kerry and several others walked by around 9 p.m. last Saturday.
The girls said they called to Kerry from the boat, the name and owner of which they didn’t remember, asking to take a photo with him. He agreed, and several of them climbed onto the dock to pose for pictures with the junior senator and 2004 presidential candidate, who’s seeking reelection to his fifth term in the Senate this November.
“He was professional,” said one of the girls who agreed to an interview at The Inquirer and Mirror Wednesday on the condition she remain anonymous. “There wasn’t anything inappropriate about it at all. He didn’t make any lewd comments. He was just being nice, taking some pictures with his fans. It lasted maybe five minutes, then he went on his way and we went back to the boat.”
Both girls – who said they weren’t drinking Saturday night – said Kerry never got onto the boat, never had drinks with them, and they didn’t see him again that night.
Other pictures posted on the site, in which some of the girls were holding cans of beer and some appear intoxicated, were from “hours later,” the two girls said.
“I feel bad for him,” said another girl who appeared in the photos. “Online he’s being made out to be this horrible person who parties with underage girls, and he didn’t do it.”
I guess you have to be dishonest since you know Beatty doesn't have a chance. Not. a. prayer.
Hello there Beachmom!
Glad to see you back again! First, I did some research – note – I only used 3 of the 75 references to this particular story on the website – giving you a few more just in case you missed any of them. Apparently, you take offense when someone comments on articles found on the web with more than one particular reference (therein lies the proof) – As to the article you post in your reply (without referencing the website) – both girls came forward and wished to remain anonymous – this was after the photographs went up on all facebook pages, were picked up by TMZ, were then picked up by the Mass GOP, who gave them to FOX, and of course, the rest of the group, after Kerry’s handlers came out aghast at the fact that the photo’s ended up on TMZ – and Nantucket being such a small town (odd way of washing their dogs – don’t you think?) why is it that only two came forward and not the whole gaggle to decry the wrong done to the poor Senator. That said, I would think that Ed O’Reilly would be getting far more traction out of these photographs than Jeff Beatty. Recall our past correspondence; I suggested we wait until after the primary before we go to “us vs. them”.
Although it is obvious, as a conservative, I would lean towards Jeff Beatty, neither you nor I can predict who will be the next junior Senator from Massachusetts – as of now; there are three vying for that position.
The entire point of the article: Beatty agrees with most of the US, drill for oil, Kerry disagrees (reasons stated), considering that not-drilling is a bad choice, high-lighting another bad choice for reference seemed to be a natural course of action. In other words, it was meant as a lampoon. (If one gives someone material, then one should not complain.) You’re last two posts have sounded a bit stressed - seriously, you may need a vacation.
