Somalia Terrorist Group – Al Shabaab Makes Threats Against US Malls – Somalia’s in MN, MA and ME – Locals should be prepared

From CNN News:a video released this week by the Somali Terrorist group, Al Shabaab is calling for attacks on malls in the U.S.. Most of the refugees are located in Minneapolis-1 in 3 refugees to be exact (CBSLocal), Maine, Lewiston, is another destination Somalian refugees recently protested cutbacks to welfare in that state(FrontPageMagazine). While in Springfield, MA the Mayor, Dominic Sarno, has tried to stop the flow of Somalia refugees to that city, given the burden placed on Springfield’s ability to cope with the influx of homeless from across the state, as well as population of 1500 that required assistance. (International Business Times).

One might suggest keeping a close eye on malls located near these cities, given the domestic terrorist possibility – see Boston Bombing in 2013(New York Times). The threat from immigrants from countries known to harbor Islamic extremist, should not be taken lightly as suggested by the FBI in downplaying the danger (politically correct) (CNN>.

With a warning in specific areas where Somalia immigrants are situated, notifying residents and owners of malls, restaurants and other high visibility, soft target areas, would best serve the population and perhaps avoid a major catastrophe. As there is a language barrier (where early 1900’s immigrants were required to learn English, today’s immigrants are not – which should be changed as it leads to an inability to be self-sufficient in this country), it would be difficult for local law enforcement or the local mall police to understand what was a plot to bomb the mall or coffee shop and what was not. These types of fanatics are also not above brainwashing or forcing their children to strap bombs to themselves and blow up markets as the recent Nigerian bombing of a market by a 7 year old girl injured 48(Pulse.ng)

One might suggest ensuring vigilance alert the population in high density immigrant areas to be on watch while dining out or shopping – and the reason why. This may result in stopping a similar 2013 Boston bombing.

Springfield MA Mayor Pleads for Help in Relocating Refugees Away from Springfield - Good for Him. < br>
The Mayor of Springfield, Dominic Sarno, has come under fire for
trying to stop the importation of thousands of refugees from Iraq and Somalia into a City, already struggling with housing, and financial woes due to a tornado that had ripped the City of Homes in two 3 years ago. He is, of course, being criticized for most likely being anti-refugee International Business Times.

Sarno who has to contend with massive gang wars, a completely Democrat and dysfunctional City Government, and the left of Center State and Federal Governments, is now expected to take on more individuals who, 100 years ago, would have been expected to fend for themselves. Case in point, every Italian, French, German, Spanish, Austrian, (name a country), immigrant from the age of infancy on, that managed to work in the mills, finds housing, or not, but survive and bring prosperity to their families. There was plenty of room and social services were non-existent. This is what built our nation. It is not that this blogger is not empathetic to a refugee, but, being a first generation American whose father came from Spain at the age of 7 and worked in the fields, learned English in a year, and went onto live a prosperous life, it is difficult to imagine that today, the refugee is housed, fed, and basically hand-held by tax-payer funded idiots, who then disappear and leave the much dependent individuals without the capacity to fend for themselves.

Sarno has got this one right – Should the Powers that Be wish to locate hundreds of thousands of individuals across the nation – perhaps they should look towards roomy Governors mansions, or the homes and properties of those making the laws, in order for them to fully understand the consequences of their actions. What should be done, in this opinion, is allow for one year of orientation and assistance, in finding a job, housing, etc., and then letting the individual rise of fall based on their own volition. If it worked 100 years ago, it should work just fine today.

Understanding this sounds a bit cruel, what of those who are left to rely on a system that is constantly falling short? Once that system is no longer in place, what then? What does a totally dependent, frightened individual do?

Sounds much crueler. What is suspect with all this lovely good intent is that they are sending refugees to cities that can barely support their own, Springfield, Lewiston Maine, et al. where the local homeless are abundant, and the working poor visible. Sarno is correct is his please to send them elsewhere, as it is not fair to the City, the citizens of the City of Springfield, and especially to those whom the Federal agencies purport to wish to “help”.

Welcome to Springfield - Chicago Style - Murder on Wellington Street, (Pick a street) - in Springfield MA - Image from Mass Live Boston Jihad Bomber – Trial In Springfield, MA - The Criminal Complaint – Not Charged As Enemy Combatants – Other’s Arrested on Expired Visas – The Clash of Cultures Descends on MA

Yesterday, in a late afternoon radio segment, Howie Carr, talking head from WRKO, mentioned the Boston Marathon Bombers and questioned the possibility that they would receive a death sentence – he thought it was not possible. (listen to audio at wrko.com) For those out there convinced that the death sentence will be a priority in this particular case, think again. First, the remaining bomber in the terrorist attack on the Boston Marathon is not being tried as an enemy combatant –He is being tried in Federal Court, in Massachusetts. He has been charged as follows: :

Tsarnaev, a student at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, was charged with using and conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction. He was accused of joining with his brother in setting off the shrapnel-packed pressure-cooker bombs that killed Lu and two other people and wounded more than 200 on April 15.

There will be an indictment, he will have a public defender or possibly two, and the probable cause hearing is set for May 20 –
(ABC News) It has been determined by the media and the mayor of Boston that they acted alone, due to a deeply held religious belief that one must kill infidels. Perhaps their public defenders may try an insanity angle.

The question of whether or not they acted alone, is suspect in itself, given the fact that the remaining brother requires a public defender, however, was able to afford to drive BMW’s, (Pilot online) perhaps a gift from some friends to enable them to fit into the wealthy Cambridge neighborhood – or at Dartmouth where they acted alone, again, building other bombs.

Taking no chances and wanting to find more about MSNBC’s new favorite hero’s - Two students from Kahgastan (next to Chechnya) in New Bedford, were questioned as they “may have known” the two brothers That questioning turned into an arrest when their student visas were found to have expired. (Shades of 9/11/2001 Locals speak to the way the young brothers and their friends dressed, the cars he drove, as someone form an upper middle class family who was being funded to the hilt. (Yet living on the state dime as refugees.)

Which begs several questions. (Most of which the reader should already have)

Was this just a random act of violence? probably not, as they were apparently planning more bombings.Hampdonroads.com.

When you have individuals from a violent religious culture that find it perfectly acceptable to blow up and murder 350 children in a school in Russia – all in the name of Religion (2004 - ask Putin) – living in your neighborhood – one might want to call an authority – who’ll ignore the fact that they are on terrorist watch lists, give them citizenship, and the rest will be history.

About the Trial – Rumor has it that the trial will be held in Springfield, MA, a stone’s throw from Amherst, and a city with a murder rate that attempts to rival Chicago. (Thus giving even more credence to Howie Carr's Prediction) From MassLive: website for the Springfield Republican (Oxymoron)

I think he would get as fair a trial as possible under the circumstances,” Dershowitz told Newsmax. “When you commit horribly heinous offenses you’re only entitled to the fairest trial that your alleged offenses justify."

Springfield hosts at U.S. District Court at the federal building on State Street.

The White House announced today that Tsarnaev will not be tried as an enemy combatant in a military tribunal

White House spokesman Jay Carney said Tsarnaev will be prosecuted in the federal court system.

Tsarnaev is a naturalized U.S. citizen. Carney says that under U.S. law U.S. citizens cannot be tried in military commissions. Carney says that since Sept. 11, 2001, the federal court system has been used to convict and incarcerate hundreds of terrorists.

(However, drones may be acceptable….. (apologies to Rand Paul)

In an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan, Dershowitz said:

"Well, it'll either be held – it will start in the federal court in Massachusetts. The lawyer will move to separate out the crimes, certainly of killing the policemen.

There will be a federal magistrate and there will be no bail granted. The trial will probably take place in about six months. The defense attorney may move – may move to have the trial moved to Western Massachusetts, where there wasn't as much emotional impact.

Jury selection will be very difficult. Anybody who cheered would be excluded from the jury. Anybody who knew anybody who was injured would be excluded."

(Springfield Republican)
Apparently, to those who are unfamiliar with the landscape in Massachusetts, it’s a small state, takes about 90 minutes to get from Western Mass to Boston, and the general populace, (those living outside of Amherst) can sometimes trend conservative – All we can hope for at this point, is that they will take special care to place that young misguided Jihadist in one of the surrounding hoosegows and let nature take its course. Note: This blogger is pro-life, to the point where the death penalty is included. It is a personal and moral stance. In this case, unlike many hoping for a death penalty, one might turn to the laws of nature would suffice. The young impressionable jihadist could be placed in the general population in a Western Mass prison – where one might anticipate- nature would take its course.

Mitt Romney Expected To Win CT, DE, NY, PA, RI Republican Primaries April 23 – Newt Gingrich to Reassess His Campaign – Obama Clinches DNC Nomination

The 2012 Presidential Candidates: Mitt Romney (R) and Barack Obama

Mitt Romney is expected to add to his lead in the GOP primary race today by winning the five April 23rd GOP primary contests in five states: CT, DE, NY, PA and RI. (CNN) After Rick Santorum bowed out of the race, the two remaining challengers, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul, would have little opportunity in theses state contests. Gingrich, who currently has 137 Delegates according to the New York Times, will reassessing his campaign after today’s primaries(WXIA-Atlanta). With Gingrich out of the race, Ron Paul, with fewer than 100 delegates, will be the last “competitor” Romney will face in the remaining contests. With Santorum’s exit, Romney literally became the presumptive nominee, given the low delegate count of the remaining candidates, and the number of available delegates remaining added to a dose of reality.

Turn-out is anticipated to be low in all five primary states – including the Democrat Primary’s, where Barack Obama is the only candidate on the ballot - MSNBC summed up the Democrat Primary contest as: Ho Hum Obama on Brink of The Democratic Nomination.

To say the least, the 2012 contest excitement collapsed after Rick Santorum excited the race – and that excitement was on the GOP side, with the most enthusiasm coming from political junkies, pundits, reporters and the various candidate supporters.

The next phase: picking the V.P. (once the nomination is secure by virtue of accumulated delegates on the GOP side), followed by the beginnings of the General Election Campaign. The debates between the two candidates: Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, might not be a “grab the popcorn” moment, but then again, Romney, who’s debate skills have sharpened in recent years, has a take no prisoners approach to the debate, and the President, who’s oratorical skills are the legend of the media, may be found to ramble on a bit if cornered – between the two candidates, it may end up being more entertaining than previously imagined. In addition, Romney, who has been seriously vetted during the primary process, leaves little for the President to attack: should he attack Romney’s Health Care Mandate as Governor - Or Romney’s change of heart on issues? (Notably both candidates have flipped and flopped over the course of the past four years with lightening speed.) Romney, on the other hand has mounds of ammunition, those relating to the economy, foreign policy, and scandals within the green energy companies which were propped up by the Administration (see Solyndra).

What is somewhat unfortunate, in any general election, is that the State’s who hold primary contests after March, are left out of choices, other than protest votes, should they not approve of a candidate. The last competitive race in a general election was in 2008 between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. The race ended with the June Primaries, and was settled at the Democrat National Convention by virtue of Super Delegate votes handing the nomination to Barack Obama. Clinton had the popular vote going into the Convention, the rest is, as they say, history.

Occupy Wall Street Uninformed – Protestors and Organizers Paid by PAC (Political Action Committee) Occupy begun by PAC’s Hired Help.

The Craig's List Job Opportunity that Started Occupy Wall Street

Usually, “grassroots movements” are not begun by Political PACS (Political Action Committees) – a True Grassroots movement begins, like the Tea Party, in a disorganized manner, and may at some point either form a PAC or take donations. That said, the original TEA (Taxed Enough Already), Party’s debut was built by individuals based on radio talk show hosts (conservatives) crying out against rising taxes and huge spending bills – specifically TARP. The Occupy Group, however, began as a paid organization, not a grassroots movement as it is seen in the press. Political Action Committees such as the Progressive (i.e. Socialist) Working Families Party took out ads prior to the first protests, on Craig’s list: (see image from Early September above click to enlarge). This particular PAC, although centered in New York State, has had a history of working for and supporting Democrats, and receiving funds from individuals associated with the Democrat Party. The Party heavily supported the Obama Campaign in 2008, and in turn was supported by PAC’s such as: Nadler for Congress, Crowley for Congress, Nita Lowey for Congress, Communications Workers of America, Carolyn's PAC, Mason Tenders District Council of NY, Building Roads & Infrastructure PAC, Steve Israel for Congress, Tim Bishop for Congress, CAP PAC, Defending America's Future PAC, Jerry's PAC, Impact, Sheet Metal Workers Union, American Federation of Teachers, Transport Workers Union Local 100, Maloney for Congress, Cmte to Re-Elect Nydia M Velazquez, Serrano for Congress, Cmte to Elect Gary Ackerman, Advanced Acoustic Concepts, Rangel for Congress 2000, Friends of Carolyn McCarthy, Friends of Weiner, Brian Higgins for Congress, Friends of Dan Maffei, *Based on data released by the FEC on July 13, 2009 (Open Secrets). The organization also received funds from individuals Open Secrets.org, and basically can be seen as supporting one political party and one political agenda.

Therefore to those who are protesting and “Occupying” from Wall Street to Springfield, MA (who’s turnout was described by a local NBC affiliate as Few Show Up to Occupy Springfield and rightly so.) they need to re-examine in this might be the best "Grassroots" organization to "join".

If the program, begun bay a pack with major donors being Unions, other Progressive PACS and Democrat elected officials on both a State and National Level, has an agenda, it would be to ensure that an election go their way. Given their involvement in the Obama Campaign, and his content praise for the Occupy Wall Street Protestors, it is not hard to make the leap from paid protestors to paid campaigners.

What is sad about the meddling from political groups to form a “grassroots” organization that one would hope, most of the attendees are there because they believe that the economy is in trouble, and want to help in a manner that is one of America’s best feature - the right to assemble. The problem is they may not be aware that they are being used for political purposes. Understanding that there are one or two factors where the Tea Party and the Occupy Party can meet, perhaps they might feel more at home, those who are not strictly committed Communists and Socialists, by joining with a Tea Party: the goals of making the government accountable for spending scads of cash is shared by both organization. Otherwise, they are nothing but paid rabble rouser's – one might add, a job is a job – but they are being presented as “mainstream” when clearly they are not. Time to find the information on this PAC and follow the money and job postings: 25 minutes – one would think those News outlets with huge resources would be able to do something similar and report truthfully on the founding of this organization, and the fact that it did not just spring out of nowhere.

It is one thing if individuals who have joined the melee in the New York Parks are true Progressive Democrats and this is what they believe, but it is entirely another if some of those are independents under the impression that it is a “grassroots” “save the world” organization – those individuals are being done a disservice by news organization who should be standing by with camera’s and several hundred gallons of Kool-Aid.

One issue of concern that the group has that may be valid: the call for the inclusions of Student Loans in bankruptcy filings. When one has a student loan one cannot discharge that loan through personal bankruptcy – that stays on the books, and the Federal Government can absolutely collect, through wage garnishment, and the courts. There are options for forbearances, however, those tend to increase the length and interest on loans – so those who have purchased the goods and services of a college or university, and yet find themselves without a job, in this opinion, should be able to include student loans in the mix, if they are in danger of losing a home, or there are other circumstances that make it impossible for the individual to pay the debt to the satisfaction of the debtor (the IRS).

In Closing, as the whole focus in on the evil corporation and its role in politics, a few more links to interesting tidbits may be helpful: Barack Obama’s corporate donors listed here at opensecrets.org

On the flip side of the aisle, one can check who gave to which Republicans so far in 2012 at opensecrets.org/pres12/index. Here on will find the eight GOP candidates with the Obama Campaign. Click on Herman Cain, then the tab indicates industries: and one finds similar categories, yet, in amounts that are quite less than (so far) other Republicans and Democrats.

There is a reason for the Tea Party, corporate cronyism's (see Sarah Palin), overspending by the government, and high taxes to pay for high government waste (in the Billions, and not Defense, or Social Programs, but duplicate programs and clerical errors!)
Occupy Wall Street appears to be a campaign front, whether those involved are aware or simply frustrated over the state of having to face an economy that is less than stellar.

Massachusetts Hampden 2nd District 2010 Election Update - Richard Neal (D-MA) Agrees to 1 of 5 Requested Debates With Opponent Tom Wesley (R)

Richard Neal (D) with Obama, Neal is up for Relection this November - photo Life Magazine

WGBY TV, Springfield MA is said to be hosting one debate between incumbent Democrat Congressman Richard Neal and his Republican challenger, Tom Wesley, on October 15th, at 7:30 PM. Neal, who is up for re-election this November, has run unopposed for the majority of his “career”, which began in 1988. Neal last faced opposition 12 years ago. Prior to being the Hampden 2nd Congressional Representative, Neal was the Mayor of Springfield, MA; in Congress he sits on the House Ways and Means Committee, which essentially is in charge of raising money for the Federal government, in other words, the arm of the Congress that is in charge of taxes. The former chair of the Committee was New York Democrat Charles Rangel, who left the Committee when charged with ethics violations. The current acting Chair is Sander Levin (D-MI). Richard Neal is said to be actively seeking the Chair of this Committee, should the Democrats retain control of Congress, in 2010.

Tom Wesley 2010 Republican Challenger to Richard Neal(D-MA),photo CNN

A recent press release from the Wesley Campaign noted that Congressman Neal had been asked to take part in five “town-hall” style debates. Mr. Wesley, a former veteran (profiled here on CNN) has an extensive background in international business, having worked for both Fortune 500 companies as well as owning his own businesses. Mr. Wesley had this to say on the Town Hall Style Debate:

“I can’t think of a better forum than a town hall debate. Not only will the voters hear from the candidates, but they will have the opportunity to engage in a conversation with each as well.”

To date, Congressman Neal has agreed to the one debate on WGBY Public Television. The last town-hall style meeting to which Rep. Neal agreed was a co-meeting with third district’s Representative, James McGovern on the proposed Health Care Legislation. According to the article in the Telegram Gazette, both Neal and McGovern, who supported the Obama’s Health Care Plan, we’re met with “boos” from the audience. During August of 2009, this was the only Town Hall held by Neal and there were no meetings offered in other areas of the district.

The experience of meeting with angry constituents may be why Congressmen Neal is shy about Town Hall Style debates. Although unlikely, it would be a boon to his constituents if he were to agree to at least two of these types of debates, one in the Western and one in the Eastern Part of the district. As Mr. Wesley points out, it gives the constituents a chance to interact with their Representative and with the opposition candidate. Choosing a representative in Congress should, unlike some American’s now believe, involve more than picking a name from a phonebook. As the time is short between the primary and the election (approximately six weeks in Massachusetts), debates, televised and or town-hall style, allow the citizen to make an informed decision on which candidate they feel best represents the district.

The Hampden 2nd District of Massachusetts includes the cities of Springfield, Northampton and Chicopee in Western Massachusetts and runs to the Southern Suburbs of Worcester in Central Massachusetts.

Massachusetts Realist - Thank you Ed O’Reilly for your Heroic run Against John Kerry

Ed O’Reilly, an attorney from Gloucester, Massachusetts lost his primary bid against entrenched incumbent John Kerry in Tuesday’s primary. The Associated Press reported that Kerry had managed to hold onto his seat at 8:12 pm, with less than 1 percent of the precincts reporting in. The primary was not without controversy; many Bay State voters were not notified of a change in polling stations; making it impossible for them to cast a vote. Apparently, the Massachusetts Legislature is being blamed because of an unrelated political battle that set business back a few weeks. How many of those disenfranchised voters would have cast their ballot for O’Reilly is most likely moot, due to the apparent overwhelming support for the junior senator (despite polls to the contrary). O’Reilly was underfunded but undeterred during a campaign that did give the 24 year sitting Senator who has not authored a piece of legislation since 1999, a run for his money. Therefore - hats off to Ed O’Reilly for putting his life on hold and trying to do the right thing for his party in the population starved, over taxed Bay State.

Kerry, who was the first to bring Barack Obama to the spotlight during his 2004 campaign and also the first to endorse Obama’s candidacy for President, will now face Republican Jeff Beatty, a new-order Republican with a substantial grassroots organization and the blessings of the NRSC. The Beatty campaign will kick of a state wide media blitz today. Although the odds and the climate favored O’Reilly over Kerry, (and many Massachusetts Democrats expressed surprise that Kerry managed to hold onto his seat), perhaps those who ponder “how could this have happened, will not follow in November with “I did not have time to make it to the polls”. If one wants change, one has to get to the polling place and effect change – unless of course, you live in areas of Massachusetts where your polling place is suddenly “moved” with no notification.

John Kerry Senate Seat - Unsafe

The Massachusetts State Primary will be held on Tuesday, September 16 – voters that do go to the polls (low voter turnout expected) will choose between incumbent John F. Kerry and Ed O’Reilly, who has run, what many feel, is a successful grassroots campaign. A debate between the two candidates, that was originally broadcast on WBZ TV Boston, was shown on TV 38 (available statewide) as of yesterday – too little too late to impact a race? That depends a great deal on the independent and democrat electorate.

It is generally determined that John Kerry’s seat is “safe” in the general election based upon polls taken at the beginning of August. One poll left out of that analysis is the Suffolk University Poll that suggested over 50% of the state electorate feels that Mr. Kerry should not be rehired. Although it has been mentioned that yard signs are hardly an indicator of which way the election will go –Ed O’Reilly signs are in yards and along roadways in Massachusetts – in large numbers. Further, Mr. O’Reilly has been endorsed by several of the Bay States newspapers, including the Goucester Daily Times (Note: that is hardley the Boston Globe).

What remains to be seen is if those Clinton Supporters are still holding a grudge against Kerry for endorsing Obama early and ignoring the Bay state Democrats who overwhelmingly supported Clinton. What are the odds that O’Reilly will be running against Republican candidate Jeff Beatty in November? 60/40 would be the best estimate. Here's why the challenger is favored - should voter turn-out be low the incumbent may not survive the primary. If this is a popularity contest, as so many of the US elections have become, then Kerry, is in big trouble. Also, consider that the media has given O’Reilly access to both print and local television (granted sometimes limited to the Web) giving voters a chance to meet Mr. O'Reilly – therfore, democrats know who Ed O’Reilly is, and who he is running against. Local Western Mass. NBC Station, interview with both candidates: here.
Prediction: O’Reilly will emerge as the challenger to Republican, Jeff Beatty in November’s race for the Massachusetts senate seat formerly held by John Kerry.

Addendum 9-16-08: Re: Voter Turnout - As of 7:35 a total of 7 women had voted in my precinct. On February 6th by that same time: 302 people had voted. One had to admire the PUMA stickers, the women with their daughters and the smile when I menioned a low turnout were priceless. (Western Mass). From Eastern Mass, the report is similar.

Jeff Beatty, Massachusetts Candidate for US Senate - Operation Cookie Drop

Last Saturday, Jeff Beatty, Republican candidate for Senate, Massachusetts (John Kerry, D. is the incumbent), participated in the “Cookie Drop”, an event held in Shirley, MA. (Nashoba Publishing Article The Cookie Drop, in its third year, is a volunteer effort to bring comfort to our military personnel. The volunteers package both personal health items and snacks, including homemade cookies, and mail these packages to our military overseas. Jeff Beatty along with two other politicians (who are unnamed in the article from Nashoba Publishing), did anything that was needed to help. However, Jeff Beatty recorded a video to send onto the troops, taking footage of the volunteers, sending personal messages to those who defend our country and letting them know how very much their efforts are appreciated. It is Beatty’s willingness to go the extra mile for his constituents that is winning over Bay State voters. (Operation Cookie Drop)
