Just how Dangerous is Ted Cruz to the Status Quo? Read, Hear & See all about it – Cruz Mania (or Cruz Obsession) Hold media in thrall. Just how important is Ted Cruz – See Previous Question.
Ted Cruz, the Republican Senator from the State of Texas is perhaps the most talked about, derided individual in this nation, outside of the President, who receives press every day – and not just a little press, or a mention here and there – it is literally hundreds of articles – posts, and pundits blathering on about what they know best.
The Left hates him, even the Republicans hate him! Look John McCain hates him! There’s the proof. He is one of those “Tea Party Crazy’s, “He’s only in it for the Money”, and best idiocy yet on the Cruz Bruising – Take for example, one pundit for the Seattle Post Intelligencer who fancies himself a playwright of sorts, writing a one-act-one-man play – He Is Ted Cruz! The article entitled “what Ted Cruz didn’t say” - one can feel the panic, hatred, and partisanship in each and every sentence. This is an op-ed (perhaps) but one that is no different that the fight between the newspapers.
Apparently the Houston Chronicle wrote an article that, many newspapers and new sites felt mean that the Chronicle rescinded their endorsement of Cruz. The Los Angeles Times Ted Cruz Loses Endorsement Houston Chronicle, and across the nation, it was written for the smallest of followings in media to see! – Apparently, these that wish to make news out of no news due to political idiocy and hated – forgot to mention that the Houston Chronicle, upon hearing of the supposed un-endorsement – went ballistic and demanded the retract and fix their silly little articles.
There are far too mention, but one get’s the gist. They have accused him of being stupid (He has a better educational pedigree than most men in Washington Seats of Power, including the White House. He has been accused of “doing it for the money”, as his campaign coffers were suddenly brimming after his 21 hour plus stand in the Senate and his continual refusal to bend to the will of the old guard republicans.
Therein lays the problem, the polling can’t be good – with unheard of unhappiness registers from the American People toward the economy, the direction the country is headed in, Congress (and by Congress that includes Democrats and Republicans, as well as the debt, and especially Obama care and entitlements in general. Ted Cruz speaks to the other 60 to 80% who don’t approve of any of it.
That’s a pretty big chuck of change, and he does it all with sincerity – darn him.
With the left ready to roll out their preferred candidate –half-term Senator Elizabeth Warren, as the New Improved Hillary Clinton for President in 2016 –those on the left are working diligently talking to anyone who will listen (26% of the populace) and demeaning Cruz as much as possible, he is seen as the biggest threat. On the flip side, are the rank and file, deeply entrenched so-called moderate Republican’s who everyone loves now, but when one of them is running for the highest office, they are excoriated by the press. – They must surely have memories that serve at least 8 years back, so one would think that these McCain’s, Grahams, Collins and the like could not possibly be that stupid as to buck the most popular guy in what is left of their party.
The only thing these few groups (Republican who fear/loath Cruz, the Democrats (all of them) and the Press (Democrat all of them) have in common is they are taking positions that may herald or mimic, Custards Last Stand. By that, the two-party system stranglehold on this nation has run its course and they are now in danger of having to share the stage with another party. Even if that Party comes from within the ranks of another. It is, by the by, the way it is historically accomplished.
What happens next? Time will tell, but projecting a bit, One does not really know which of the bold new Libertarian’s will don the mantle of Presidential candidate – one would think it would be at least one who had a perfect showing at the Value Voters Conference or Summit, and also was able to connect to those in the base with an energy almost hinging on star quality. It is the left, Democrats, and the Old Guard Republicans (Including the RNC who is out begging to put individuals on payment plans in pleading phone calls, in a script so similar to the DNC, one might think they are sharing the same call center) who are watching the end of the Good Old Boy era and they don’t like giving any control back to “We the People”. They also know, in their hearts of hearts that they have no one on deck that would be capable of mounting a campaign absent the likes of a Cruz, Lee, or Paul.
As the 2013 year ends, and 2014 rounds the bend, one might see more than a few challenges mounted against sitting incumbent Republicans in both the House and the Senate, and possibly a few Democrats, and that is what concerns them most – they know this is going to happen and they know that darn, Cat I the Hat, will come back to bite them – They can always go on the talk circuit. My bet is though that they will suddenly be fawning all over the “new Republican’s”.
Ted Cruz, who’s news mentions continue to pile up more than any single politician in American – negative or no – is doing the nation a service – and all the negatives that came be dreamed up – will turn positive once the general rolls around. Reading tea leaves is not always the best way to form an opinion; however, one has to ask, what other reason would there be? If he were, say, of little consequence as implied, or too green, or what have you, would they really spend all of this time and talent on making sure he is derided? (Along with anyone that remotely smacks of “Tea Party”. One thinks – no.

Sarah Palin – What If She Decided To Join/Work with a Third Party? – The Writing Has Been On the Wall Since 2010.

Sarah Palin pictured with Ted Cruz (R-TX), both Constitutionalists - image pat dollard dot com
There’s been a lot of speculation the past few days over former Governor of Alaska, and 2008 GOP VP Candidate, Sarah Palin’s remarks regarding leaving the GOP for greener pastures. The remark about starting a “Freedom Party” came as a Q&A, and, as a good many situations arise out of Washington, or either major political party, that irk Palin, it appears that the focus is on her stance on the Republican’s who voted for the Senate Immigration package bill. (Seattle Post)
The political analysts over at the Christian Science Monitor ask the rhetorical question: “Why is Sarah Palin saying she might leave the GOP?”, and go on to answer that with a “not likely”.
Why would the Christina Science Monitor or any news outlet believe that Palin was not serious? Although no one, especially anyone in media, new or old, knows what’s on Governor Palin’s mind, if one were to take a look at footage of her speaking at rallies prior to the 2010 elections; one might have a different point of view as to whether or not she may be considering ditching a major party.
Upon introducing herself to the U.S. Political stage (outside of the State of Alaska and the Governors Associations), Palin has been a virtual unknown entity in the lower 48. How many people even know the name of the Governor of an adjoining state, let alone the name of their own State’s Govenor (given the absolutely pitiful rise of the low information voter.) Therefore, Palin, an unknown, with zero interest from the media (other than to make her look as incompetent as possible), remains that way today.
With the exception of those who have been lucky enough to hear that woman speak about what our nation should look like in a political sense – straight from the Constitution – without the powerful two-party machines, rather, with citizens who actually have more interest in their nation, than in getting more from the trough. Those that may have been at one of the events, from one end of the coast to the other, would have heard a sane and sensible message, one that was inspiring, and more bi-partisan, or anti-party, than anticipated. A message of hope for the future, of building a better society, and overall, one that was welcoming to anyone, any race, creed, color, or political affiliation.
Therein lays the danger in Sarah Palin – were she to take the GOP infiltrated Tea Party, and motivate those millions of activists hoping against hope for a return to Congressional and Senatorial sanity, to form, precinct by precinct, state by state, a solid alternative to not only the GOP but the DNC, it would have a general appeal that one might suggest would pull from both parties, and especially from those who consider themselves unenrolled, unaffiliated or independent.
Perhaps she was, at the time of the query, just voicing her frustration over the ridiculous situation in Washington. The immigration bill is only a tiny part of what is wrong –there’s the waste, and the downright stupid decision that are made on a daily basis, that not only cost the taxpayers’ money, but are generally embarrassing for those whose State or Congressional district sent said Legislator to D.C. in the first place. (Of course, they would have to know what that individual did that was so lame, but, unless it’s a Republican stuck on stupid, the media wont’ report it, there, if one is questioning why we have low information voters? – They are turned off – so the tune off the news – in droves- and are so disgusted, they don’t even vote, or are peacefully and blissfully unaware of what’s going on in DC or their State Capitol, that is making life so unbearable.)
Palin may be as frustrated as the rest of the nation who is even semi-aware of the nonsense created by both major parties. Or, she may be serious. If she is serious, she would be much maligned (which by now, the woman should be used to the vitriol), and she would be a patriot under any guise, as she would be attempting to taka the countries governance on the Federal level back to its founders intent.
Should Palin decide to take it one the road and organize, one might find that she’d soon have company, and that she may draw equally from both parties – thus castrating the two major parties, and leaving them each with one-third of the nation – imagine, not over night, but in a decade or less, the ability to send a third party candidate to the White House, not one beholden to one party or the other, but one that would be representative of the People. Whether or not Palin actually decides to put herself and her family through a national campaign of such a scope is another thing – however what a great thing it would be.

President Obama Win’s Reelection – Republican’s Retain Control of Congress, Democrats Increase Gains in House – Romney – An Opportunity Lost - Let the 2016 Speculation Begin

In what should have been an upset according to some pollsters and simple math, turned into a, yet to be determined percentage of the vote in President Obama’s win of a second term. According to the New York Times, the current electoral vote count stands at President Obama with 303 electoral votes, and former Massachusetts Governor, Mitt Romney with 206 electoral votes, 29 are currently undecided. The popular vote, according to the Times, is still ”tight” in a scenario where some pundits over the past few days believed that Romney might win the popular vote and lose the electoral college, or vice versa. What this shows those in the middle – or the moderates – is the deep divide that exists in this nation based on political ideology. One can anticipate that this division will continue throughout the next four years, and the struggle between those fiscal conservatives and those that believe bigger government is the answer, will continue.
Mitt Romney, in his concession speech, continued his theme of unity,
“I have just called President Obama to congratulate him on his victory. His supporters and his campaign also deserve congratulations. I wish all of them well, but particularly the president, the first lady and their daughters.
This is a time of great challenges for America, and I pray that the president will be successful in guiding our nation.
…..
The nation, as you know, is at a critical point. At a time like this, we can’t risk partisan bickering and political posturing. Our leaders have to reach across the aisle to do the people’s work. And we citizens also have to rise to the occasion.
We look to our teachers and professors, we count on you not just to teach, but to inspire our children with a passion for learning and discovery. We look to our pastors and priests and rabbis and counselors of all kinds to testify of the enduring principles upon which our society is built: honesty, charity, integrity and family. We look to our parents, for in the final analysis everything depends on the success of our homes. We look to job creators of all kinds. We’re counting on you to invest, to hire, to step forward. And we look to Democrats and Republicans in government at all levels to put the people before the politics.
(Full Text of Mitt Romney’s Concession Speech here Via the Boston Globe)
The concession speech given by Mitt Romney was typical of his governance of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the opportunity for the nation to have a truly bi-partisan leader has been lost, unfortunately, there are few moderates left in the great political divide that is our nation, the balance being far to the left or far to the right, with little room for discussion and party unity placed before the people whom they are supposed to represent.
In the end, however, it is what it is, another election come and gone, with disappointments and jubilation and to that end, it is hoped that President Obama, with the campaign behind him and in his final term, become the moderate he had presented. It is also hoped that the economy will improve, despite the conventional conservative wisdom that there will continue to be fewer jobs, taxes will increase exponentially on the middle class and the weight and regulations of the Affordable Health Care act will affect the middle class and specifically seniors in both taxes as well as decreased care.
The economy, and the focus on the economy, is not about greed nor rich nor poor, it is, unfortunately, the sad truth that, at one time every American had a chance at personal gain, and that chance has become narrowed, as those who do go onto college find themselves burdened with debt and little in the way of qualified jobs to sustain that debt. The fact that there are only a finite number of taxpayers to the huge demands of the ever growing federal government is of concern as that affects the poorest in this nation. When the tax base is narrowed, and those dependent upon government, the employees of that government (including teachers, firefighters, etc.) and the poor (those receiving benefits) may end up finding themselves with fewer opportunities. The debt of the nation, which is everyone’s reponsiblity through the tax system, will fall short without an overhaul or equitable tax reform. There simply are not enough “billionaires and millionaires” to support the system. It is hoped, that with the election behind him, the President with four years left, will abandon his base, and lead from the center. It may be that those on the right that feel that the President is too far to the left ideologically are dead wrong. It is the hope that they are, as the socialist ideology is one which cannot be sustained in a nation of this size, regardless of the “dreams” of those Progressives who in ivory towers still hold the Soviet Union up upon some sort of pedestal.
Therefore, this is President Obama’s opportunity to truly unite the nation, to become the moderate he has marketed to a majority of American’s. To date, many of us how lean to the right, might have reason to be unconvinced, yet one hopes to be proven wrong, and one prays that the President, and those in the Senate and the House, will temper there “crazy” side and look towards he American people with both compassion for the poor and a need to work towards a common goal of recovery.
That said, it really does go against the grain of human nature as well as the political machines that run the nation, which brings up the need for reform on the political side, and a real need for a third party – a party of the middle, not to the right nor the left, but one that bases its ideology on the side of fiscal sanity. As to the social issues that drive both sides of the aisle, they have all been duped – and why? There will be no movement on Abortion, Gay Marriage, women’s ‘equality”, simply because those are the “political footballs” of both parties, nothing will, nor should it change, as many of those are also religious issues. Therefore those who feel strongly that abortion is morally wrong, that gay marriage is morally wrong, may want to realize these are religious preference issues, not issues belonging to a government that is, in truth, too vested in the political process to change.
As to 2016 – and yes, it starts now, one to watch is the newly elected Senator from Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren, or as her Progressive supporters believe, the next President of the United States. As to the Republican side, it is too early to tell, but one should watch Mark Rubio, the Florida Senator. What is unknown is the “third” party candidate, for there should be a third party within the next two years, which rejects the status quo.
Finally, as to those that are emotionally vested in an election, it is fine to be disappointed in a loss, however, it is really only politics, and it is not the end of the world as we know it (unless of course, one is deeply vested in the Mayan Calendar, this all of the aforementioned is a moot point). Find your inner sense of humor, and look at the opportunities ahead, for they are there simply because these United States of America remains a free nation, the only free nation that exists. If however your concern is such that you are compelled to get up and move – head to Arkansas: which has become a solid Republican state (NY Times), the first time since the Reconstruction of 1865!(Historyworld).
