Wisconsin Latest to Fuel Abortion Debate – Gov. Scott Walker Signs Bill Requiring Ultra Sounds – and MD’s to supply Proof of Privileges at Hospitals - Media calls "Extreme" Measures

The above photo from Jillstanek.com, shows the abortion provider, Herman Gosnell's, procedure table

From USNews at NBCnew.com: Wisconsin Governor, Scott Walker has signed a new bill into law, one which requires women seeking an abortion to have an ultra-sound first, as well as insure abortion providers in the State of Wisconsin have privileges to admit at Hospitals within a 30 mile radius of their clinic. The abortion lobby (or the left in general) is screaming “Restrictions!” – Or to put it bluntly a women’s right to be unaware of any problems arising from a pregnancy, even if said pregnancy is one the women wishes to terminate. Also, women should not be concerned that their provider of services – which can be life threatening, are provided by an individual who is not allowed to step foot in a hospital.

So much for looking out for women from the left – to play devil’s advocate here – and understanding that abortion providers are a billion dollar tax payer funded industry, in most cases (except for the Herman Gosnell type clinics, who are privately run, and may receive limited federal funding).(Life News)

That said, should any of those clinics be actually brought up to health standard, some on the left are suggesting that would be a disservice to women as they might close! The bills are being herald as “restrictive” by most of the media. One has to ask the question – when it comes to women’s health, where are the restrictions? – It appears only to be enhancements that have been put into place – unless, of course, a woman has an ultrasound, sees a baby or hears a baby’s heart beat, and decides not to have the abortion (that restriction there is the loss of income to said abortion provider). Additionally, if any were to choose a provider of health care, abortion or otherwise, one would hope that provider had admitting privileges to an actual hospital – in the event something went horribly wrong – which can be the case in the average abortion. There are risks in any surgery, most go off with a hitch, but if something did occur, would it to be in the women’s best interests to have a hospital handy?

Although one might be pro-life, by choice, it does not take away from the fact that these “restrictions” go a long way towards helping, rather than hurting women. Therefore, regardless of which side of the issue one decides to stand, or how one wishes to parse words, these two above referenced provisions make sense form a women’s health standpoint. The ultrasound can be used to detect everything from a normal heartbeat, to abnormalities in the fetus or the uterus, to cancer – of course, if the provider doesn’t not permission to send a patient to a local hospital, then one might question that particular providers ability to perform not only a simple test, but a minor to major surgery. That is what abortion is, a surgery, and to cheer on women having these “procedures” done is “clinics “which can be liked to badly kept car-washes, speaks volumes about how little those individuals actually care about women’s health.

One would have thought these types of procedures, would be on a par with any other out-patient, or same day surgical procedure –with all the care and concern that goes with – apparently not if one is in the camp of the abortion lobby (NARAL or Planned Parenthood both come to mind).

As more states go to the "extreme’s" that Wisconsin just did, say limiting abortions to a certain amount of weeks, in order to prevent a women from aborting a baby that can live quite easily outside the womb, and having the doctor (if they are really doctors) stick an ice pick in the baby’s head to complete the “Procedure” (See Gosnell Trial, where that is considered the standard in the industry (Defense). One would think that the deeper psychological harm might not come from the women hearing to seeing a child prior to deciding whether or not to end that child’s life, rather from knowing that child was being brutally murdered upon delivery. (Of course, that might not be exactly told to the woman, having the procedures). What should take place, in addition to safeguards in place for all women, is education of women as to the actual procedures which take place during and after an abortion at all weeks that should be part and parcel of a jr. high school or high school’s health curriculum – but they rather hand out condoms – how overwhelming unhelpful on so many levels! – Yet applauded as forward thinking, those that pretend to represent women in all stages of their lives and to have their “back” so to speak, should something pop up – in reality are looking out for themselves and the woman, are nothing more than the “masses”, faceless names who have insurance that will cover “procedures” and some will die, most will live, and some will suffer the rest of their lives, regardless of how palatable the abortion industry makes these procedures appear.

The Abortion Debate Rages in Texas – Big Money versus the Health of Women and Religious Conviction – the Battle over Late Term Abortions.

The pro-abortion activists in Austin - photo contains children holding poster with pro-abortion theme, including a coathanger - image from victorygirlblog.com

The Texas Capital has been under siege by pro and anti life activists the reason simply because the State of Texas wishes to restrict late-term abortion and insure that the abortion providers run services that are up to snuff. According to the Dallas Moring News the House has approved the measure, which will most likely steamroll straight to Govenor Rick Perry’s desk for signature. Meanwhile, in the streets of Austin, the situation is getting a tad tense. Those Christian’s and other religious that prefer that life remain, rather than allow for abortions, are peacefully protesting. One or more websites are offering videos and audio of a clash between pro-life and pro-abortion forces which feature those who prefer life, singing Amazing Grace, a universal Christian Hymn, while those who prefer abortion, (while surrounded by their children), are chanting “Hail Satan”. (The Blaze).

For what it’s worth, one might consider that those chanting “Hail Satan” have no clue as to what they are doing other than attempting to upset a bunch of Christians. However, one might wonder why that tactic must be taken at all? Since there has been an uptick in the persecution of Christians globally, those who are anti-religious must find this all a great joke. They also must not give a rat's behind for the health of women and children, and they are most likely ignorant of the facts surrounding the decision to restrict abortions in several states. The reasoning is simple – those legislators are attempting to help, not hurt women, by keeping standards in clinics. The Gosnell Trial which took place in Philadelphia recently featured graphic images of babies born alive, and then casually murdered.(Philly.com) Gosnell, some would argue, was an anomaly in the filthy clinic where a woman died, however, that is not the case. The defense of Gosnell was simply that abortion was legal and he did nothing more or nothing less in clinks everyday. Abortion is a violent act, as violent as birth and that is what compelled the jury to convict. It was not just a conviction of the practices of Gosnell, but a conviction of the practice.

The above photographs were introduced as evidence against Dr. Gosnell - this is the type of practice (late term abortion),that is being fought for and against in Austin - image from exposethemedia.com. (The media gave almost zero coverage to the Gosnell trial as it was considered a "local story".)

Texas has its own Gosnell, in one Dr. Douglas Karpen, who was attempting to be the second coming of Gosnell. (Daily Mail). Therefore, how many dirty, abortion mills, or for that matter, clean abortion mills, that have employees, smother, ice pick and otherwise murder, babies unfortunate enough to survive the abortion?

It is certainly naive to consider this may be the case, even more so, with those activists with their children in Houston, chanting Hail Satan and pro-abortion slogans (whatever those may be), have to be paid. It is inconceivable that a woman would want to subject herself and her child, to the filth and psychological and physical damage that is associated with these clinics performing late term abortions.

Why does the abortion lobby push so hard? Simply put, Planned Parenthood does not just exist on the Government dole, although it does receive funding. Planned Parenthood is paid through insurance companies, and insurance companies cover abortions. Those claims are paid quickly and the beat goes on. Both the abortion provider profits, as does the insurance provider. Simply put the cost of an abortion is much lower than the cost of a live birth, especially if there are complications. To employers, and those who self-insure, the savings in health care costs, retraining and hours is startling. Consider the cost to an employer, as a woman chosen to go to term with the child, the time off, and the replacement of the employee, who, will no longer be able to perform up to an efficient level, especially if there are hours necessary to fulfill the position. The additional claims incurred, from both mother and child, are also a factor. We might be talking cattle her, however, it is how a woman who is pregnant is considered – the cash value of the abortion – far outweighs the losses of a live birth. Now, with the father able to take time off to care for the child, an extra incentive has been added to prefer the abortion.

Hail Satan indeed. If one is looking at this from a religious standpoint, one might consider that in this case, money is the root of all evil. The billions of dollars made (and saved) by the abortion providers as well as the corporations, far outweigh any real health and or emotional risks of the women. Who by the way are stupid and sheepish enough to get out there and lobby for more abortion! Perhaps they’d be smarter to lobby for equal pay – since we’re still earning less to the dollar than the proverbial male counterpart.

Those women, men and children involved in the protest are really not at issue, other than being either full of righteous conviction on the one side, and or full of rhetoric and a healthy coat hanger fetish on the other side. – They are both, nothing more than a diversion.

In realty, the battle lines are being drawn between big money and a government that has the best interest of women and the health of women and children in mind. Should the state’s ban late-term abortion, the legal “slippery slope” is pushed to the front of the minds of those profiting from abortions. The deep fear is that abortion will, someone, and magically overnight, be outlawed. However, one with any sense understand that the abortion issue is guided by the Supreme Court and in forty years abortion has not been seriously challenged, and is not being challenged at that level now. Therefore, one surmises given the history of the industry, that late term abortions are just as profitable, or costs savings, than the early trimester abortions.

Rather than think things through as individuals, those with a cause, pro-or anti- are, as usual, going about things with emotion rather than logically attacking a source. Whatever happened to voting one’s way to a cause, or writing heated editorials, to the local paper expressing one’s point of view? Or investigating which clinics, are owned by which corporations that are profiting from abortion, and which large insurance companies are doing the same. One might want to target those industries. On the left, one merely needs to go home and be quiet, unless of course, one is being paid to show up and shout “Hail Satan” or scream at someone for signing Amazing Grace. Those on the left have the courts in their corner, as well as Big Corporations, which, in a twist of fate, as one will, is a bit of irony. Yes indeed, if one is inclined to read that book – one might find that there is forgiveness and mercy and love above all, and a certainty that money is the root of all evil. In the verse of the pivotal Christian Prayer, the version which speaks volumes:

Our father who art in heaven

Hallowed by thy name

Thy kingdom come

Thy will be done

On earth as it is in heaven (paradise)

Give us this day our daily bread

And forgive us our debts

As we forgive our debtors

And lead us not into temptation

But save us from the evil one.

Amen.

The Philadelphia Gosnell Trial – Where the Water Get’s Muddy – Media Focus Taking Center Stage – Puts Story in Forefront – What of Women’s Health and Safety – Nationwide?

There is a trial taking place in Philadelphia – one Kermit Gosnell, an abortion clinic doctor, is being accused of performing late term abortions, so late that the children, born alive, were technically “beheaded”. It is a story that is, for all intents and purposes, horrifying – no matter which side of the “abortion “issue one stands on – the details emerging from the case, are disturbing to the point of nausea. How anyone could perform a procedures described as follows: “The clinic's practice of "snipping" the spines of babies born live during abortion procedures. “ and respond when asked if they knew it was “murder”. - "No, I didn't," said Williams, 44, who told the Philadelphia jury hearing Gosnell's murder trial on Tuesday that the doctor's "standard procedure" was to "ensure fetal demise." is beyond comprehension.

The fact that Media outside of the Philadelphia Area is under attack for ignoring the trial – is not incomprehensible. If a story does not receive national coverage, then it is most likely due to the “deluge” of news released on a daily basis. However, pressures from “pro-life” activists, who have seen coverage on Fox News, are pushing a narrative that the story was intentionally shoved under a rug.

Now, the media is responding more to the accusation, and less to the trail content. If one “Goggles” Philadelphia Abortion Trial, one finds a million excuses – and apologies included from news media across the spectrum. It is not that the on-line versions of what might be considered “liberal” publications did not run the AP stories on the trial in March, as evidenced by a search of the Springfield Republican’s, Masslive.com, those that are considered more “conservative” had the same coverage, The Boston Herald’s site, Boston Herald.com had the same AP coverage, and nothing else in their archives indicated a focus on the Philadelphia trial. – Apparently, not everyone watches Fox News, including some Moderate Conservatives who happen to be pro-life. Go figure.

Not one to defend the MSM (Mainstream Media), in this case, perhaps a good percentage of the media outside of Philadelphia simply missed the story, or the magnitude of the “horrors” (the typical headline associated with the clinic) of what had taken place. However, by covering the lack of attention paid by the media to the case, they are, now covering the story - with excuses as to why they did not cover it in the first place. This blogger did not respond to this particular story, as it was not in the “spotlight” or something that was in one of the areas of interest – and this blogger is pro-life – anti-death in any form, which allows more than a little leverage to the national and out of state media, who are now responding.

In reading the details, the fact that some view the coverage of this story as a national assault on the pro-choice movement, is insane – the story should offend anyone – anti or pro – given the fact that since Roe vs. Wade, the promise of safe, legal abortions has been set in cement in this nation. The real question should be – why was this clinic, and possibly hundred of similar clinics around the country – not inspected regularly? Looked at once in a blue moon? – No one would want to go to a family medical practice, if it had a record of filth that this “women’s clinic” apparently had. As to the doctor, it goes to the individual who would make a decision to perform late-term abortions – that feels a child born alive, is to be treated no better or worse than an unwanted litter of kittens. As any animal lover might, the thought of what happens to millions of unwanted animals is heartbreaking. Yet, in the case of an unwanted child, the thought of what this particular “provider” did (and had his staff help willingly), is beyond heartbreaking. The fact that abortion, as a procedure is apprehensible aside, the willingness to murder, should be the focus here, along with the cover up, the accomplices, and the fact that this practice could be taking place elsewhere should be on the forefront of everyone’s mind – pro-or anti choice. It is the morality of the issue, certainly, but more important, the physical and psychological damage done to women – in the name of “choice” that should be in the forefront. How, one must ask themselves, would those women, who, understanding they were anesthetized during the procedure, reading about this story today, cope with the fact that they were implicit in the horrific murder of their child? Understanding that most women seeking an abortion are under the impression, that what they carry is truly nothing more than a “blob” not yet determined to be an actual “human”. That is the mantra that is taught, and bought, hook, line and sinker. Somewhere in the back of one’s mind, there is that nagging suspicion, that having an abortion is killing, and those that feel that way, may find themselves after the procedure suffering years of guilt, anxiety, and depression.

There are laws in certain states that mandate a woman receive counseling as well as have an ultrasound in order to fully weigh the pro’s and con’s of the decision. This should be a standard – if a women feels, after seeing a child on an ultrasound, that it is not in her best interest to have the procedure – so be it. With laws like this in place, it would help to eradicate what can only be termed as infanticide.

The media, alternatively beating it’s breasts in apology for not cover the story, and defending themselves from the accusations, are, at the least, covering the story in some kind, however, the focus should be on what steps can be taken, nationally, to protect women who feel they must resort to this particular procedure, no matter their background. It should be a women’s health issue as well as a murder trial, and there should be a whole lot of screaming from women’s rights activists on this subject – certainly with all the hoopla spouted from these same groups regarding access to safe, legal abortions.
