As the Massachusetts primary season is heating up, Candidate for Congress, Sean Bielat, will be a guest on the Sean Hannity Show, this coming Monday, August 23rd. (Source: email received from the Bielat campaign). This Conservative showcase, will give Mr. Beilat a national platform in which to a) prove that the Bay State has credible Republican candidates running for office (in droves mind you – all but one of the 10 districts has a Republican Primary) and b) take an opportunity to show how he might differ from his competitor, Earl Sholley, on the issues to those in the 4th district who were not able to listen to the 7am debate held on Rush Radio( Podcast of Debate available here. )this past week. Lastly, it will give Mr. Beilat an opportunity to increase his “war chest” which, rumor has it, is on par with Barney Frank’s. (Note rumor, but with the insistence that the next FEC filing will be “huge”. (source name withheld, as noted as rumor)

So tune in next Monday, or set your dvrs, and take the time to get to know a young Marine who may just be Frank’s nemesis (or in the event that Frank, even with evidence to the Contrary, bows out of the race at the last breath (Ethics Panel Indictment Avoidence Ayndrom), handing it, hat in hand to Rachel Brown – given tweet and sources from Laura Ingraham of Frank’s retirement in April and the way in which Frank approached Rachel Brown, with all due respect, in the Democrat Debate (available on You Tube).

Mr. Bielat might find himself up against a different opponent. With politics in the 4th District of Massachusetts, perhaps a bit more “crazy” than other districts in Massachusetts – anything, at this point may happen. One thing is certain, the next Congressional Representative for the Massachusetts 4th will be one of these four individuals:

This blog has confirmed a debate between the two Republican Candidates for the Massachusetts 4th District Congressional Seat, will take place on August 11th at 7:00 am hosted on The Jeff Katz Show, Boston radio WXKS.

The Debate is the only one confirmed schedule prior to the primary which takes place on September 14th, 2010. The winner of the primary will go on to face Congressional Representative, Barney Frank in November. Sholley, who ran a late-start campaign against Frank in 2008, had the opportunity to debate Frank at the time. Video of the debate can be found on YouTube here.

Mr. Beilat’s appearance at the debate is tentative, his wife is expecting their first child, should she be in delivery on the morning of the 11th, Mr. Beilat will, of course, not be available. It would be a service to both the voters of the 4th District as well as every citizen of the United States (given Mr. Frank is the incumbent), that should this occur, the debate be reschedule prior to the primary, either in this venue or any other available.

The debate, depending upon Mr. Beilat's attendance, will be available through streaming as well as podcast. As this debate is of such import (given Massachusetts newly found conservatism), it is suggested that readers tune in on August 11th at 7:00 am to the Jeff Katz program.

MA Rep. Barney Frank Looses Cool – Over $1 Senior Discount! –The 4th is Being Polled! Frank Faces Republican Challenge in 2010

From the New York Post: Barney Frank apparently caused quite a scene, demanding he receive a $1.00 senior citizen discount for the Fire Island Ferry. Problem is that these discounts are only available for residents with I.D.’s – Barney appears to be a fiscal conservative when his own money is at stake, either that or he is starting to emulate one of his opponents when it comes to being fiscally conservative.

For those looking for polls on Barney Frank - Several reliable south coast residents have contacted this blog and confirmed that a “firm” is polling the 4th district race, as to when results will be released is anyone’s guess, however, the poll bypasses the primary and is directly pitting Frank against Republican Earl Sholley.

Republican tactics are ready, shoot, aim.


There are many pressing issues that we can debate in the campaign for the Fourth District congressional seat, chief among them jobs, economic growth, and the foreclosure crisis. So I was disappointed to see one of the Republican candidates engage in tactics that do not belong in a campaign on the issues.


Mr. Sean Bielat, a candidate for the Republican nomination who has never run for office, attacked Senator Scott Brown for voting for the critical financial reform bill that protects consumers, taxpayers, and Massachusetts businesses. In addition, he accused three Republican town committees in the Fourth District of bias when he refused their invitation to debate his primary opponent, Earl Sholley. Mr. Sholley has the same right as any candidate to be treated properly, since he has fulfilled all the requirements to be on the ballot.


In addition to attacking Senator Brown and Mr. Sholley, Mr. Bielat has lied about my record on Israel. In a recent statement he falsely asserts that I said that I was “ashamed of Israel.” In fact, I have never made any such comment and I have been very proud of my work in support of Israel and its right to be free, independent and secure. I did express my very strong negative feelings – shame in fact – about the actions of some individual Israeli settlers who have engaged in violent persecution of Arab residents in the West Bank. I made it very clear that I was talking about these individuals and explicitly stated that I was not talking about the policy of the Israeli government. And the implicit notion that no one should ever criticize any action taken by any residents of the State of Israel undermines intelligent defense of Israel’s rights to defend itself and maintain its independence.


One web site that posted the same false claims promptly removed them once the editors learned the facts. I would hope that Mr. Bielat would also retract this verifiably false charge and return to a discussion of meaningful issues where he and Mr. Sholley and I have differences."

In Massachusetts, especially the 4th District, never take anything for granted. This may be one of the most interesting district races in the nation this November.

No Surprises and Fannie Mae now Seeks Bailout of 8.4 Billion – Barney Frank – Retirement Options are on the Table

Fannie Maeis seeking an additional 8.4 billion in funding from the federal government on top of the 13 plus billion loss in the first quarter. Fannie Mae, sister to Freddie Mac, are examples of government run and funded programs that have spiraled out of control over the decades. The mortgage giants can be directly linked to the start of the financial crisis that began the spiral of recession in the last year of the Bush Presidency. The chief architect and cheerleader for the institutions is the Congressman from Massachusetts 4th district, Barney Frank (D-Ma), who has repeated gone to the defense for Mae and Mac.

As recently as the 5th of May, Frank had asked the White House to protect his favorite lenders from “Republican attacks”. The trail of corruption and Frank’s insistence that the two lenders are on solid ground can be traced back to 2003, when frank told a Frank insisted before Congress that the two entities were “sound” quote from NYTimes Article:

''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.''

Perhaps it is time to take government control away from certain types of institutions (namely anything relative to the financial strength of our nation). Just how many government run programs are not rife with corruptions, bankrupt and supported endlessly by politician’s who receive large donations from whichever industry happens to be at the public trough? The Federal Government should be divested from corporations it currently “oversees” (sic. “Owns outright”) and allow those to either fail or succeed based on their merits. One has to question how much debt can the United State continue to amass?

As to Barney Frank, his sister-in-arms, Nancy Pelosi, and the ringleader of the Senate Clowns, Harry Reid; it may not be long before they are replaced by conservatives (see November 2011). In Frank’s district, two republicans are running against Barney Frank: Earl Sholley, a stalwart fiscal conservative, www.sholleyforcongresss.us and a new face to Massachusetts Politics, Sean Bielat www.seanbielat.org will face off in a September primary. Whichever one of these men, who make it through the primary, should be a force in the 4th district, and deserving of support on a national basis in order to rid our nation of that imbecile, Frank. That is, of course, if Frank does not pull a Gordon Brown and simply bows out of the race at the last minute, by announcing his retirement (and those rumors have been rampant.)

Over in California, Dana Walsh is giving Pelosi a run for her money, literally. Walsh,a conservative who will not support taxing your great-grandchildren to pay for Nancy's earmarks, can be found at www.danawalshforcongress.com

In Nevada, there are so many running against Harry Reid and besting him by double digits, the conclusion is somewhat foregone. One of three or four Republicans are leading Reid according to polls at Real Clear Politics.

Barney Frank Opponent Sean Bielat, First of GOP Hopefuls to File Signatures with Statehouse

Yesterday, Sean Bielat turned in sufficient signatures to place his name on the ballot in the State of Massachusetts in order to run against incumbent Barney Frank in the 4th District.. According to Bielat’s “Facebook” page, he dropped off 2756 “certified
signatures” at the Massachusetts Secretary of State’s office. Bielat was the first of several candidates to announce his trip to Beacon Hill. Signatures are not officially due until May 25th, according to the Secretary of State’s office. In addition the process allows for opposition candidates to challenge signatures, so it is imperative that that candidates collect above and beyond the 2000 certified signatures required for those running for U.S. Congressional Seats. Candidates can expect that a minimum of 500 signatures will be challenged, and those will be reviewed by the Registrars of Voters by May 28th. Once a candidate runs the gauntlet of the certification process, they are then officially on the ballot.

Beilat, formerly of Canandaigua, NY, was married in New Hampshire in October of 2009 He is expecting his first child. An Active Marine Reservist, Bielat worked with I Robot’s Military division, and lists his current occupation as “consultant”. He has been described as a Libertarian Republican by the website Libertarian Republican.net

The other Republican Candidate, Earl Sholley, is expected to bring his signatures to the Statehouse next week with little fanfare. Sholley will face Bielat in the September primary. The winner of that primary will go on to challenge long-time incumbent Barney Frank of Fannie and Freddie fame. Although the district did vote for a Republican, Scott Brown, in the January 19, special election, either Sholley or Beilat will have to win over Democrats in order to defeat Frank. The district, due to gerrymandering, has several larger urban populations that are predominantly Democrat. A great deal will depend upon how alienated Barney Frank has become from the rank and file moderate Democrats. Those are the individuals the winner of the September Primary must attract in order to defeat Frank and it is not out of the question.
