Trump Rally for Vets – C-SPAN – What the Viewers had to Say

Although Fox News held a Republican Debate in Des Moines last night which was, as the network noted “Trump-less” (Fox News). The Trump campaign was in full swing down the street. The rally was over on C-Span.org (C-span.org link to Trump Video). The question of just now many people watched C-Span, is not available as the network is not rated (Ad Week), yet based on the callers into c-span after the rally, one would anticipate more people found C-Span last night and they might just have had a ratings spike.

The Video below, from C-Span, is the call lines and callers comments after the debate. Worth watching to get the idea of exactly how much support this candidate has from the general public. What remains to be seen is how many of these voters will cross party lines, or vote at all for the first time, when the ballots begin to be cast next week.

Although the tone from the general media is more disdain for Trump than anything else, they continue to follow any move he makes, from the tarmac to events. As of this morning, #1 top topic in news on Google News -

Trump Visits Burlington, Vermont

Presidential candidate, Donald Trump, made a visit to Burlington Vermont to hold a rally yesterday. One might think, in practical terms, that going to past-“blue” Vermont would be a huge waste of time; however, in watching the live stream, it was apparent that was simply not the case. The video on You Tube (here) is telling. The venue was small, holding 1400 people with 100 of those members of the press, and of course, being in a college town, there were more than the usual protestors mingled with the crowd. It was interesting to watch the manner in which he was at fist amused, but as the mini-bursts continued, his mood changed to one of apparent disgust, so he called them “rude”. It was the usual Trump rally, however, with more noise from supporters than from those students and professors who so rudely go into venues to protest.

Overall, what is always telling in his appearances is his connection to those supporters in the crowd, and his affection for them. In watching a half dozen of these event via streaming, and attending one in Worcester, MA with a crowd of 14,000, if one listens to his tone, watches his demeanor, one begins to understand he’s sincere, has a wicked sense of humor, and is having the time of his life, but, at the same time, feels compelled to be there out of a sense of duty.

Of course, this is a personal perspective, yet, six months ago, it was easy to dismiss the man, given who he was in the public eye, an entertainer, pure and simple.

What he has done to date is show the American people who are interested in listening to him, that there is hope and that as he can and will say exactly what they are thinking. He is a rare individual indeed, one willing to lose opportunities to enrich himself, in order to run for the Presidency – which is, sadly, not always the case.

Therefore, with a six weeks or so before the primaries begin, it is with a great deal of interest that one watches a candidate invest time in places where no one else has bothered to go, winning hearts, changing minds, and throwing the bums out who so rudely interrupt.

GOP Field - Separating the Wheat from the Chaff – Media Skewers Trump, Along with 99% of the Republican Candidates

Dem’s Oddly Silent over McCain Brouhaha – What if more than half of Trump’s Statement was left off the page?

Two from this group did not jump on the Media-GOP bash Trump bandwagon - the Smart Guy in the bunch - image Kansas City Star.

Donald Trump, bombastic and rascally 2016 GOP Candidate has been criticized by fellow Republican contenders for the 2016 nomination and the gleeful press, continues to ask the same questions: Do you agree with Donald Trump – to a man and woman – they all swiftly denounced Trump as he allegedly said:” John McCain is no war hero” . The only one who refused to take the bait – one smart candidate, Ted Cruz, Senator from Texas, who has said he values John McCain’s service but would not “jump in the gutter” to malign a fellow contender in the race by charactering what he or she said. (Bloomberg)

Apparently, The Washington Post’s Sharly Attkisson’s “Fact Check”, shows that with every snip of a clip, the context can change dramatically. From the article on Donald Trump and John McCain:
1. The Post did not provide context at the outset disclosing that McCain and Trump have been feuding, with McCain characterizing some Trump supporters as “crazies” and Trump stating that McCain graduated last in his class in Annapolis. The charged rhetoric continued at the conservative Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa this weekend.

2. When a panelist characterized McCain as a “war hero,” the Post is accurate in reporting that Trump initially said McCain is “not a war hero.” But then, Trump immediately modified his statement saying– four times– that McCain is a war hero: “He is a war hero.”

“He’s a war hero because he was captured.” “He’s a war hero, because he was captured.” “I believe, perhaps, he’s a war hero. But right now, he’s said some very bad things about a lot of people.”

2. Did Trump say McCain is not a war hero because he was captured? No, not in the exchanges represented in the Post.
(Washington Post Fact Check

The question remains, who in the GOP hierarchy were thrilled to send the Post, CBS, NBC, Bloomberg, whoever, part of a quote, and why are our journalist not able to fact check on their own? – Apparently they cannot find C-Span, or any number of sites, where the video is found and one can get the gist straight from the horse’s mouth.

Of course what Trump said may have been better put by say, a fifth grader, but it’s his style, and once again, instead of watching the man nosedive in the polls (methinks it may have been the intent) the opposite will happen, supporters will now understand that he is right about that media!!!

Therefore as the primaries are coming up around the bend, and the debates are schedule and Trump, despite the BS, should be on that stage if he holds onto a top position through August, it makes one think – those who would jump on the press bandwagon without checking for themselves if a certain fact was true (have a staff member watch what a video, the event was videotaped), were quick to criticize. Except one, and what does that tell us? The rash rush to judgment may not be the quality one wants in a Presidential Candidate.

That leaves, 2 in the field of Republican’s and the Democrats who said zip.

Trump Questions Cruz's Eligibility to Run for President - Is Cruz Eligible?

From The Digital Journal:

Real estate mogul and former Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump appeared to be gearing up for 2016, suggesting Senator Ted Cruz's Canadian birth would make him ineligible for the White House.

Getting ahead of the 2016 presidential election season, Donald Trump has again expressed his concerns about the birth origin of presidential contenders, airing his positions on Senator Ted Cruz's Canadian origins on ABC's "This Week."

Asked if Senator Cruz was a viable candidate for the White House, Trump readily shared his opinion. “If he was born in Canada, perhaps not,” Trump said. “I don’t know the circumstances. I heard somebody told me he was born in Canada. That’s really his thing."

Apparently , Trump is busy sowing the seeds of doubt, as any serious consideration of a Presidential run was lost in the 2012 election for those in both political spectrums who were “also rans” should understand that nothing short of a miracle would transform them into Presidential Candidacy material a second time.

Cruz, who was, indeed, born in Canada, was there with his American Mother: from The Washington Post:

Cruz was born Rafael Cruz in Canada, where his Cuban father and Irish-American mother had moved for the 1960s oil boom. They had met at an oil exploration business in Texas.

As a teenager, his father fought for Fidel Castro against Fulgencio Batista. “They didn’t know Castro was a Communist, what they knew was that Batista was a cruel and oppressive dictator,” Cruz said earlier this year.

After being imprisoned and tortured by the Batista regime, the elder Rafael Cruz came to America on a student visa with nothing but $100 sewn into his underwear. He made his way through the University of Texas by washing dishes.

Eleanor Darragh, Cruz’s mother, was a working-class Delaware native who studied math at Rice University. Cruz once told a tea party group that his mother refused to learn how to type, so that when men asked her to type things up for her she could say, “I would love to help you out, but I don’t know how to type. I guess you’re going to have to use me as a computer programmer instead.”

Cruz was raised in Houston (all he remembers about Canada: “It was cold.”) In high school he was part of a group sponsored by the Free Enterprise Institute that learned the Constitution by heart and traveled the state giving speeches on conservative ideas.

Read balance of article here at the Washington Post

There have been questions raised about the eligibility of those who would consider a run for President as recently as 2008, with Trump being the most vocal about President Obama’s origins. (Not that Cruz has even hinted that he would run, being in Iowa, is always considered a big clue, yet determines very little in the grander scheme of things.)

Suffice it to say, that the Senator, who has a long pedigree vis a vis the Constitution, would know whether or not he, indeed, met eligibility requirements.

Recall the questions regarding John McCain’s eligibility for the Presidency – he was born in Panama, to American parents – which, trumps – Trump(New York Times)

2012 GOP Presidential Candidate Roundup: Sarah Palin and the Ides of September, Romney’s Too Elite? Huntsman on Bachmann – She’s Pretty!

Romney Palin and Bachmann - image Sunshine State News

As the drama from the “Debt Ceiling Crisis” continues in the Senate (Prediction: Obama get’s his debt ceiling, Republican’s get some cuts, but not enough to make a difference, and the general public, taxpayers, will enjoy prolonged fiscal pain due to lack of Leadership.) it is to the point that most American’s are disgusted, and clearly appalled by how the Congress, Senate and White House are basically dysfunctional. Reference to playgrounds rather than politics is a popular theme; followed by “kick the bums” out. It’s fantastic that we’re having a “dialogue”, however, how about taking some action, specifically in areas where one can get rid of waste, double dipping by government agencies, fraud and abuse? One Senator, Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, has a report on the aforementioned that should be used as a model for first things that the Congress and Senate could do to start saving billions today. The report is available here at coburn.senate.gov/public//index it is suggested reading (PDF).

Therefore, since the “crisis” is somewhat of a foregone conclusion, as far as Washington is concerned, the week starts with a look at who could lead this nation out of the pit of apathy, and onto a road to recovery both fiscal and psychological
Over at the Washington Times, Henry D'Andrea, rolls out his reasons for believing that Sarah Palin is running for the Office of the Presidency in 2012. The reasons are sound, and if anyone were to be able to pull off an “unconventional” campaign that would be Sarah Palin.

Although the field continues to be at best ho-hum, to the point where Donald Trump is considering running if the “right person” is not nominated by the GOP. One thing that was missing in D’Andrea’s article, Sarah’s visit with Donald Trump. Although merely speculating here, Trump has commented on certain candidates, liking Bachman more than some others, however, he way rather “coy “for “The Donald” when asked about his visit with Palin. Both individuals play by a different set of rules than the usual “politico’s” – which is a) unnerving to the media and b) smarter by setting the pace, and letting the pundits speculate the outcomes. A September announcement by Palin would not only shake things up a bit, but add much to the debates that are scheduled throughout the fall and winter leading up to the first primary and caucus.
Note to D’Andrea: This blog believes Sarah Palin will run – out of a sense of duty to the nation.

Meanwhile, Mitt Romney can’t seem to please anyone, either it’s the way he dresses, or his perfect hair, and now, it’s his perfect education: From KSL, Utah comes the latest nonsense that Romney’s Ivy League Education would hurt rather than help him as a candidate, given the anti-Ivy League (i.e. Elite) stance of that darn Tea Party. One should note that Tea Party meetings generally have speakers on the economy, et al, and those speakers hold degrees from Ivy League Universities. Go figure. Romney is Romney, he’s the perfect person, and he’s smart, and willing to compromise, perhaps a bit too much for the taste of many conservatives. He prefers the word “fee” to the word “tax”. Frankly, the later is more of a turn-off than whether or not he was educated at Harvard or Yale, or if spent six years at a local community college – makes no difference. Is there anything else that the media can think of that makes Romney just “too perfect”? One has to feel sorry for the guy. Our candidates should be judged on their prior experience, not their religious preference, how they dress, their gender, if they are too perfect, or if they went managed to get through school on collage loans and work study, going through several schools to do so, until they could graduate. It simply does not matter – what matters? Do they have those leadership qualities that are so desperately needed by this nation, and are they fiscal hawks, not just conservatives, but hawks.

Finally, the most ridiculous and way to stick foot in mouth award goes to Jon Huntsman (who?) 2012 GOP Candidate: Apparently, according to Mr. Huntsman, his problem (and other lower tier candidates) cannot get enough press, because, get this: it all goes to Michelle Bachman “because she’s pretty!”

What an idiot! Michelle Bachmann receives media attention because she’s campaigning, and since she’s in Congress, she’s got a ready made platform – she’s also smart, savvy and oh yes, Tea Party. Anyone that is that petulant over not getting enough press, and uses the “pretty card” to attack the only announced female candidate to date, has to be fairly desperate. Of course, one has to wonder if Huntsman feels the same way about Mitt Romney? Is Romney too Pretty (there’s that debate again, pretty/perfect)? How about Herman Cain, who just won the Colorado Straw Poll (in Huntsman’s back yard)? Is Herman just too pretty?

Cain, Palin and Romney - image Republican Redefined Blog

It is the usual garbage that is associated with a woman running for higher office – although one has to admit, it’s a lot nicer (in a cry-baby, whining sort of way), than other things the press has leveled at Ms. Bachmann, and Sarah Palin should get an award for handling a press that is not only hostile, but sexist to the extreme! Look at the handful (one hand that is) of woman that have run or God forbid (media take) been nominated to a major party ticket or ran for the nomination, from the wonderful Geraldine Ferraro, to Hillary Clinton, to Sarah Palin, (a 30 odd year span one must note between the first and the second) – the treatment of these woman has ranged from the frivolous to the bizarre, but all of it has been – because they are women. If a policy were being discussed, and one did not like a certain policy, that’s fine, but those articles just can’t stop there, they have to include “what she wore” or some comment that just roils!

To sum it up this blog believes, Palin will run, (and will be President), Romney is still too perfect, it is time to take the focus off the his good looks, perfect what –have you, and focus on his governing in Massachusetts, Bachmann is a stellar campaigner, and like Palin, she is taking the heat, and staying out of the kitchen- that’s honorable. Huntsman, the media adores him – enough said.

Although it is far too early to really begin to speculate about which candidate might make it through even three primaries, and or announce, it is imperative that those who are looking for leadership, begin to watch and read about these candidates, and make some choices, whether it is Cain, Perry, (any day now), Palin (September), Bachmann, and or Mitt – as Obama’s numbers stand now, (a continual slide south), there is little chance that the man can be elected unless of course, a third party candidate comes forth to split the vote (Hint, find out who Donald Trump thinks is an acceptable GOP candidate and then get behind that person 100%). If a third party candidate runs (which is David Axelrod’s desire), a Massachusetts scenario will ensue, whereby, the incumbent manages somehow (Deval Patrick) to be reelected by 1 point. – Repeat 1 point! Choose early, choose several but choose – and as the field narrows, should your preferred candidate does not make it so to speak, make a second choice, or a third – the alternative, is unacceptable.

Comic George Lopez Threatens to Leave Country if Palin Elected President! Palin Spot on – on Economy “It’s the Spending Stupid” – Obama Support Erodes

George Lopez - Will he leave Obama if Palin Becomes President? Image Daily Mail UK

From: Politico: Comedian, George Lopez is threatening to leave the country should Sarah Palin become President. Lopez, a Californian native, plans on moving to Canada, according to Politico. The comedian suggested that Palin’s lack of experience and the American ability to vote for someone who winks and smiles would be the reason he’d flee the U.S. It almost makes one wonder if Mr. Lopez isn’t somewhat confused, and instead is referring to the current occupant of the White House – who’s on the job training included a short stint in the Illinois State Senate, followed by a shorter stint in the U.S. Senate with previous experience as a “community organizer”. Palin, comparatively speaking, when one is honest, had more in-depth experience in governing than our President in 2008 and some might argue, she still does. Mr. Lopez is the first “Hollywood Celebrity” to threaten to leave the country – al la Susan Sarandon in 2004 – Bush was reelected, Sarandon stayed. One note however, Canada is very strict on its immigration policy; therefore, Mr. Lopez might want to consider say France!

The ongoing, ad nasuem, “sky is falling” rhetoric regarding the “debt crisis” from the White House and media, is beginning to drive the average American to the apathetic stage. From the “Boy Cries Wolf” analogy – one crisis after another starts to become rather ho-hum, from a stalemate in Washington (as if that’s news) to the Presidents’ ridiculous call for American’s to call Congress and ask for a tax increase (OK, that’s not what he said exactly, but it’s what it amounts to), Palin’s take: from the ABC News blog, speaking in an interview, she called the President’s latest “crisis”, “Obama drama”. Note to George Lopez, not only in Palin smart, she’s got a comedic side as well. In addition, she borrowed from the “Economy Stupid” Clintonesque campaign staple, ramping it up to “It’s the Spending Stupid” – which is spot on and hits home for millions of American’s who are just getting by if they have a job, or in some states, on their third year of unemployment, and in many cases, have fallen off the rolls, hearing about Obama’s plan for a $30,000 plus a plate birthday bash on the taxpayers dime? The spend and tax method of governing is obviously not working, and the people “get it”.

A new Washington Post-ABC News Poll (No bias there (wink) – suggests that more American’s are unhappy with Obama on the economy – and that he is losing support among his base. The report also points to the fact that Obama is not alone in this public angst, as respondents (most likely the base they are referring to) continue to blame George Bush, and Republicans in Congress are taking heat for the gridlock over the debt debate (most likely from the same source).

It’s to the point where Vermont’s most cherished Socialist, Senator Bernie Sanders, is suggesting that someone within the Democrat party actually challenge Obama in 2012 (The Hill Blog) Apparently, Senator Sanders believes a challenge would help put the spotlight on Obama during the Republican debates – seriously. He also felt it might be difficult to find someone who wanted to run against an incumbent, however, truth be told; it might be interesting should any Democrat want to jump in the fray – but whom? Perhaps Donald Trump will switch parties again, and run against Obama!! - The Donald, who has hinted that if the Republican Party does not nominate the right person, will run as an independent, and may consider throwing a real wrench in the mix and run as a Democrat! Who wouldn’t want to see that poll right now?

Breaking - Huckabee Announces He’s Out for GOP Nomination – Closing Pre-Taped Video – Trump Congratulates - Not Sorry Huckabees Out!

Governor Mike Huckabee just announced his intention not to run for the Office of the Presidency, live on his Fox News’s show. Huckabee’s last guest, Rocker Ted Nugent, spoke about the import of securing our borders with our troops in order to prevent further attacks by terrorists – something Donald Trump has suggested. Govenor Huckabees statements here: at Foxnews.com. In the closing moments, Donald Trump appeared in a short pre-taped segment – he noted that (paraphrasing) “many people would be disappointed that Mike Huckabee had decided not to run”, but that he “wasn’t one of them”.

During the show, Huckabee also featured a segment on grading Mitt Romney’s performance in explaining “Romneycare” versus “Obamacare” – in which the former Massachusetts Governor received a “C” grade from Governor Huckabee’s panel.
With Mike Huckabee, who had been polling ahead of Romney in various state and national polls, now out of the race, and Trumps announcement due at the end of the “Celebrity Apprentice” series, it remains to be seen if Trump will stay with NBC. With his cameo appearance tonight immediately following Huckabee’s statement, it appears more likely that Trump is serious about a bid for the GOP nomination.

Al Queda Target: Railways – Schumer calls for No-Ride List; Economic Hit Would be Devastating - Beef Up the Borders with U.S. Troops

Freight Train moving through Santa Barbara, CA from Tran Blog by Marcel Marchon

The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 were devastating to the U.S. economy; the immediate impact to New York City alone was 16.9 Billion dollars (fiscalpolicy.org), and, considered short-lived on a national scope, the economy was impacted for a period of 2 years, with an immediate impact on Wall Street on a par with two other events beginning in 1920, with the bombing of Wall Street 9/16/1920, and the September attack on the Olympics in Munich in 1972 (Journal of 911 Studies, March 2008).

With the cache of information gathered in the U.S. raid on Osama Bin Laden’s compound, it was discovered that America’s railways are potential terrorist targets. With this revelation, even Charles Schumer (D-NY) is calling for a “No-Ride” list for passenger trains in the U.S. (Reuters), however, the documents do indicate that that the attacks would be on the rail lines themselves, rather than a terrorist boarding a train (KBOI) As any attack on a commuter train’s costs in lives and the economy may be, the disruption to rail service in general, would have an enormous impact on the overall economy. Over 43 percent of all U.S. goods are moved by rail (Boston Globe).

Beefing up security for all trains, commuter as well as freight lines is in order, however, the “no-ride” list and the Department of Homeland Security’s call for citizens to act as watchdogs, does not address the overall problem of border security, which remains porous, whether it be to the southern border, northern border, or more specifically the ports and coastlines both east and west. In this opinion, although some might sight tighter border control as somewhat draconian, when one considers the impact on lives and damage to the current unstable U.S. economy, the more nationalist view of border control, including the use of U.S. troops to patrol the border (a la Donald Trump’s suggestion (The Trump Card 2012), begins to make sense.

Politics aside, whether right, left or center, it is obvious that, even with the demise of Osama Bin Laden, there are members of the Al Queda organization radical faction to step in, replace, and even outdo Bin Laden’s legacy. The fact that there were continued discussions and plans within the hierarchy of that organization since September 11th only highlights the necessity of a more proactive border policy. The fact that the rails are a target makes this more urgent, in light of the current economy. Although the chances of this occurring under the current administration and Congress are slim to nothing, it would behoove our elected officials to consider this tactic, regardless of which special interest groups one might offend in the short-term, in the long-term, this type of policy would be a step in ensuring the safety of the public, but also go far towards controlling illegal immigration, as well as putting a dent into human trafficking which is an abominable trade, using all borders.

GOP 2012 Update – “Top Tier Candidates” skip Fox South Carolina Debate, follow 1999 Examples

Out of the Pack of "Top Tier" candidates: Huckabee, Palin and Trump (not pictured) yet to commit to run - image: freedomslighthouse.net

Fox News held the first GOP debate last evening in South Carolina – the debate featured Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul and Tim Pawlenty – absent the field of “GOP Potential Candidates: Huckabee, Romney, Palin, Bachman, Trump and Gingrich. The prevailing theory is that the Fox hosted debate was more of a loss for Fox News, rather than the GOP field, as those Top Tier “Candidates” have not yet announced. The question remains, when will these much ballyhooed candidates decide? The answer obviously is when they are ready pending current obligations and strategy.

From Politico: Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee told a group of freshman congressional representations this past week that he had not yet decided one way or the other and would make his decision this summer. The prevailing theory is that with Huckabee, Palin and Trump particularly, there are media contracts in place which would prevent them from announcing sooner, unless these contracts were dissolved.
What’s the rush? The debate process a mere decade ago began in the later end of 1999 - George Bush, who went on to win the GOP nomination, skipped the first two debates which begin in October 1999, and although he announced an exploratory committee in March of that year, did not firmly commit until the summer. Bush went on to win the nomination, after announcing later than McCain, and skipping two of the first debates – he had to work harder on the ground in the primary states, but was able to raise funds and observe the other candidates, plain strategy. The early debates and announcements began in 2007 with the emergence of Barack Obama as a candidate for the Presidency, prior to that, the announcement, exploratory and debate process got off to a later start.

Does it really matter when Huckabee, Palin or Trump decide to run and formally announce? Not in the grander scheme of things. A question asked at the Fox debate of the attending candidates was (Paraphrasing): There are certain (people, groups) who feel that Barack Obama is unbeatable, do you feel that he is vulnerable in any way? The answers, resoundingly from those present were – yes, and the main reason, the economy.

It will be the economy, the lack of transparency, the appearance of indecisiveness and the inability of the administration to get any story straight, regardless of the import, or lack thereof, that has both left and right thinking American’s thinking strongly about the alternatives. There are polls which show the President’s job approval rating at all time lows, polls that contradict whether or not he got a “bounce” from the Bin Laden incident, and polls that indicate the birth certificate issue is still alive. The fact that so many are now questioning whether or not the demise of the Al Queda leader, Bin Laden was “staged” is, in a word, stunning. Therefore, it does not really matter if one announces in March or in August, it really does not matter if they have the “billions” the President is hoping to have in his “war chest” for reelection – what will matter is that the individual who breaks from the “pack” by September or October of this year, is one who is decisive, has a clear understanding of the economy and who is less “Washington” - being able to convince the general public, not just the Republican’s and Republican leaning Independents, that they are capable and additionally willing (key word) to take on the task of running the nation as the top CEO. It will be someone who comes across as Decisive, and that is, if nothing else at this point, any one of the ten or so individuals announced and unannounced.

The fact that the news organizations,ABC, CBS, CNN and Fox included, are pushing so hard for the sake of ratings, has little to do with the final choices made by the candidates and those who support them – It may be Donald Trump who ends up leading the field (he appears, despite the naysayers to be a serious candidate), it may be Mike Huckabee, or Sarah Palin, or it may be a soft-spoken, decisive Governor from Minnesota, one Tim Pawlenty, or a perennial presidential candidate Ron Paul, who takes the lead. It will, in this opinion, however, be a candidate who is decidedly not connected to Washington – which has become synonymous with greed, indecision and a quest for power, not service. Therefore, when the field of contenders finally forms this summer (and that is when all will know for certain who is in and who is out), then the debates will draw ratings, the speculation and dirt will fly, and the 2012 election season will get underway. What is hoped is that should Trump, Palin, Romney and Huckabee all enter the race, that this debate season, equal time will be given to those who, although considered by the “pollsters” to be less likely to win a nomination, be heard.

Obama-Boat - Birth Certificate Book Rockets to Top Slot on Amazon – Via: RedState: Black Press Takes Out Ad: Does Not Matter If Obama Not Born In USA

Corsi: Where's the Birth Certificate? - image book cover Amazon.com

From:The Drudge Report: Dr. Jerome Corsi, of Swiftboat Fame, has gone into hiding a month prior to his bombshell book release: “Where's the Birth Certificate?: The Case that Barack Obama is not Eligible to be President” The book, which is on pre-order on Amazon.com, hit the #2 slot today in pre-orders alone. Available here at Amazon.com,, there is no “preview”, or teaser from the author, the book title alone is enough.

There has been an ongoing controversy over Barack Obama’s birth place, and whether he had been born in the United States or in Africa (Kenya), otherwise, it is alleged he would not be eligible for the presidency. Donald Trump, who has acknowledged the issue and those who are known by the press as “birthers” (a term Donald Trump finds insulting), has taken an enormous amount of heat from pundits to the right and left, including former Bush advisor, Karl Rove for even considering the subject. Although Trump has, on more than several occasions, asked to move away from the subject, he is brought back consistently by eager journalists who downplay the significance of the President’s missing “long-form” birth certificate. A long-form birth certificate is required in many states, including Massachusetts in order to apply for such things as a marriage license and/or passport (preferred by the State Department, not required.)

The books release, prior to the President’s 2012 campaign, should fan the flames of those who were, in the past, convinced that the President was born in Hawaii. However, does it really matter if the President was not born on U.S. soil?

It does not, according to an advertisement allegedly developed by the Northeast Publishers Association “The Eyes Ears and Voice of New York's 3.5 Million African Americans”. The ad, which is published at the blog Redstate.com was released on April 17th . The ad copy here in PDF format via Redstate notes: “ Rhetoric! The US Constitution does not require a candidate for the President of the United States to be born on American soil.” There is another headline: In the case of the Current US President, Barack Obama: under which is cited the definition of a “natural born citizen” under Amendment 22, Section 1, ratified in 1951, which notes that individuals born outside of the United States, to one parent who, during the time abroad gives birth as an American Citizen, having completed military or diplomatic service included in a five year absence allowance.

copy h/t Redstate

Furthermore, it is not known if any of the publishers has gone to press with what is described as an educational piece.

Hypothetically speaking, if any of the views and or facts expressed in the book and blog do reveal that the President was not born on U.S. Soil, even if it were under the guidelines of the U.S. Constitution, he may not have been aware. Those who are first generation American’s, regardless of ethnicity or race, find that often in the past, parents or grandparents had “Americanized” their names in order to gain the advantage of being simply “more American” or to “fit in”. Given the time period, that may well have been the case. Therefore, the man may not have been aware that he was not born in Hawaii. In addition, he was never placed under oath, and specifically asked and answered any question regarding his birthplace, so has not broken any laws regarding perjury. (a la Bill Clinton.)

If he was aware, at any time prior to or during his presidency, and neither the book, nor the advertisement is some sort of hoax, then he is guilty of lying to the American Public, in other words, he is a politician and he should resign, or at the very least, suspend his 2012 campaign. This would only serve to cement an already certain one-term Presidency. The problem lays not in the question of his being re-elected (given his less than stellar approval ratings), the problem lays in the fact that those who want to remove the President from office, are not considering the consequences thoroughly, as to who would then become the leader of the Free World. The task, according to the U.S. Constitution, would fall to one Joe Biden, the Vice President – Case rested.

If the man was, prior to this investigation, not aware, then it is more the shame to those who may have known, but pushed his Presidency and career forward, believing in some arrogant universe that they could hoodwink the United States citizens, the world, and even the man himself.

The S&P, Vote of No-Confidence to US Ability To Rein in Spending – Obama: No Problem! Solution: Get Off the Campaign Trail and Go to Work!

On the Campaign Trail while Rome Burns - image itmakesseneseblog

Bloomberg:in a nutshell, President Obama’s talking points on the recently downgraded rating by the S&P, is that there is nothing to see here…move along folks. He is downplaying an entity that is, in a word, able to influence markets not only in the U.S., but globally as well. The crux of the matter is that we have no obvious ability to get our financial house in order. The U.S., heading towards a Presidential Contest in 2012, has the President on the Campaign Trail. In order to satisfy his base, and get the cash necessary to continue, at least part of his 2008 media spending frenzy, the President must insult the Republicans. That’s the way it works, although one might wonder why he would bother to come out so early, given that the chance of anyone challenging him from within his own party is nil. It is also questionable, depending on the poll, if he even stands a chance to be reelected, given his track record a la Jimmy Carter, do donors really want to part with hard earned cash to finance a losing campaign? It’s early in the election cycle, if this were 2004, or 2000, even, that long ago, announcements were not made until mid-summer of the prior year. George W. Bush went on to announce in late August of 1999, not February or March or April of that year, and debates were held in October, not May. Therefore, if any one “team” needs to get on the stick so to speak, it would be Republican’s who need to raise funds for an election this early, not the President.

So, he dismisses those who would cut taxes, and talk’s red meat on a variety of stops, and then the President wonders why the S&P believes that nothing will change within our government to work towards reducing the deficit! They’ve noted that this “rating” may hold until 2013 (or when the post election dust settles).
How this effects Joe and Jane taxpayer – if you work for a private sector employer, you may have a 401K, that 401K is most likely vested in the stock market (at least in part) and with a lower confidence level on wall street, one might see losses in one’s 401K (or retirement) – which with Social Security not so secure, it is irresponsible for those who want to dish out red meat to their base, to do so until they can reach some sort of compromise at the very least and move our economy forwards.

(Just a note: most pension plans, public and private, have investments in Wall Street, and if the market does poorly, so do those who have pension plans they hope to utilize someday.)

Time to scale back the rhetoric.

The Chinese (or China’s government) weighed in with agreement on the S&P’s decision, noting that it was mostly symbolic and that they did not believe the S&P would actually go further, (WSJ), however, there’s more to the way the U.S. Dollar is seen in terms of those involved in “China’s Wall street”:

"The fundamentals of the U.S. economy do not support an AAA rating... the U.S.'s actual debt repayment ability has already collapsed," Dagong Chairman Guan Jianzhong told Dow Jones Newswires in an interview.
Dagong cut its rating on the U.S. in November last year to A+ from AA, with a negative outlook.
"We will consider a further downgrade the U.S. rating, as the economy hasn't shown any sign of improvement in its fundamentals," Guan said.
Guan said the U.S has already infringed on the interest of creditors with its policy of quantitative easing launched last year, which has caused the U.S. dollar to depreciate.”
(Source: WSJ article

Therefore, the Chinese have already decided the U.S. was not credit worthy, and our dollar is worth less on the global scale, as well as your pensions or modest savings, while Obama is on the Camping Trail, proverbial Rome burns. Get the man a fiddle.

If their time between golf games, vacations and campaign stops for the current occupant of the White House to actually work (with Republican fiscal conservatives) and hammer out some type of beget that would address the deficit, not raise taxes on those left to pay them, and find untold billions in waste, already found?

Absolutely, It takes a big man, and/or woman, (It’s been 3 am and the phones been ringing since 2009), to walk across the aisle and seriously listen to the other side in order to accomplish jack. Ever hopeful and optimistic that , although not a fan, that those we, the people, elected to do a job, stop the insipid bickering and make a few deals to get the nation back on track before more trucks carrying meat are hijacked!. (WTVY) It is the explosion of Carter Era, meat out of a trunk of a car, sales, that indicate the level of working poverty in the US. – Without an EBT Card (welfare) those that can no longer afford food (with the inflation on food and fuel, the U.S. Government insists is not a problem), will be able to buy “stolen meat”. The risks are obvious.

Therefore, all of them, need to get off their lofty high horses, and make some real improvement in whichever version of a budget that the White House care to dream up next – and as to those in the Congress who want the cuts, well, they should be listened to: Women will not die, The world will not end, if cuts to certain social programs are cut – especially when those organizations (i.e. Planned Parenthood), have sufficient donors, as well as the ability to accept insurance to cover costs. It’s all about politics and that has to stop – scarring defenseless leftist who cling bitterly to their abortion and whatever medication gets them through the night, as well as the elderly – (which is perhaps, the most egregious of practices by those in a certain party who feel that they own the elderly vote, (as well as the African-American, Catholic, Hispanic, and the all important, especially in close races, dead and missing vote) - They need only to refer to History!!! For one or anyone, that had lived through the 1970’s to 1979 (pre-Reagan), it is in jaw dropping amazement that one sees an administration as well as counterparts in Congress and the Senate, with the help of some of those in the Republican Party, to ignore the outcomes that resulted from the same nonsensical programs, and yet, they go ahead and just play dumb – as if the nation hasn’t seen this before.

So, to all of those sitting in the hallowed news booths of MSNBC, or pick a network, or print piece, that wonders out loud, and with much insult, how any one of the present GOP crop of non-political “presidential contenders” – could possibly be taken seriously by the American People, they obviously understand history all too well, which explains the vitriol towards two of the “outsiders” in particular, and anyone who dares to get close to stepping outside the “beltway” and go over to the dark side of speaking one’s mind and calling it the way most of the people see it.
A spate of recent remarks by pundits, Karl Rove, who is as relevant as yesterday’s news, dismissed both Donald Trump and previously Sarah Palin as unelectable; it keeps Rove in the Spotlight. Club for Growth feels the Donald (or anyone but Mitt Romney – see attacks on Huckabee in 2008 and whence they came from), is at it again. Those two entities are what the left press and White House are now using as “absolute proof” that neither Trump nor Palin, and wait, they haven’t gone after Huckabee in truth yet, will never best “Obama”. Maybe not in the beltway, but in (if using Gallop and Obama’s stellar approval ratings from last year (before stolen meat and S&P), 40 of the 50 states should go the way of whoever steps up to the plate, and offers the public more than they’ve been given in the past 3 years, and it is not about Federal Aid.

Can the President and Congress (Senate included), get their act together in a timely fashion in order to save all their jobs, and, which should be most important the nation and one’s 401K or pension? There is some time, but the clock is ticking. When those who have been fence sitting, (due to network contracts) finally decide to run or not to run, then all bets are off – should it appear that one of those who jumps off the fence resonates with American voters, despite gender, hair, or a penchant to preach on occasion, and should one of those show stellar poll numbers in 2012 from August forward, Wall Street and the World will react and that as well, is historical. When it looks as if someone is willing to do something to save the U.S. Economy, Wall Street reacts in the positive, when it appears someone who is clueless is about to take the reins , it reacts in the negative (just Google Wall Street Trends prior to the last 10 general elections, and a pattern emerges.). Can the public wait for recovery until such time? Of course, American’s are resilient and although the Dead May Vote, and the majority of Catholics, will cast their ballots for the Democrats, World Peace and yes, Planned Parenthood, it will not be enough to save the jobs, of those who failed to dare to be different, follow historical patters instead of pre-conceived ideology and difficult as it may be – reach across the aisle and do something positive.

2012 GOP Update: Palin Wins Praise - LA Times Compares to Obama – Trump Given Credence by Vanity Fair? The Outsiders in the GOP Field –It’s About Time

Nothing drives the establishment press and Beltway pundits (from all political affiliations) about the bend more than someone whom “they” feel is not “up to snuff” attempt to throw a proverbial hat into the ring of political ring as a candidate for higher office – be it a Senator or in this case a run at the Presidency. It is evident, and has been since one Sarah Palin hit the stage in 2008 at the GOP convention as the Vice Presidential Candidate that there was something “not quite right” about Sarah. For starters she didn’t have an “Ivy League” degree, nor was she a “Washington Insider”, she didn’t speak in the manner to which both East and West coast academics were accustomed, rather used language and colloquiums that were more in tune with those whose education and “class” might be suspect to those who consider themselves America’s Elite. The fact that she was a woman and conservative, that was too much to bear – from the right and from the left came barbs from the ludicrous to the just plain crass – and it continues today, with little known professors writing tomes about Palin that are more fiction than fact. Palin is no longer alone in the field of “possible candidates” whom the press and the Beltway are now heavily vested in demeaning for being – themselves. Donald Trump, the real estate mogul, reality television star and well, all around Trump, has also thrown is “I’m considering a run for the Presidency” out into the big pond of politics. Trump is also considered, like Palin, not up to snuff, he’s too…..pick something, from his hair to his shoot from the hip (very Palin by the way), style of answering questions asked straight on with no apologies is pushing Karl Rove and company into a tizzy.

Of all the candidates who might run (and one has to speculate that it is a combination of television contracts as well as the scope of the mess one would have to clean up, among mundane things like a rabid press and Beltway) the aforementioned make the most sense. They are who they are, and refuse to change to appease the press and or academics – which stands them in good stead with the “regular folk” – in other words, the very people who are fed up with the entire “holier than thou” or “smarter than thou” attitude one sees coming from those that truly believe they are just that “special”. The fact that one has a degree from Harvard, Yale, or has spent 30 years in the Senate or as an advisor to whomever, or is the “star” at a certain media house, or better yet the editor, publisher or producer, does not necessarily mean, that common sense is present, nor an ounce of understanding of our nation’s founders intentions. The intent was a citizen’s government, and no citizens were exempt from holding office (unless, of course, they were foreign nationals, and then there are some exceptions as to which offices they may hold). There was no mention of one having to go to Harvard or Berkeley, there was no mention that one must speak a certain English dialect, and one did not have to be part of an “elite” club that told the “masses” what to think.

Simply because the aforementioned candidates resonate with the “regular folk”, the elite are having a hard time wrapping their minds around what life might be like, post-Obama with either Palin or Trump holding the highest office in the land – thus out comes the barbs. One has to hand it them, they being perfect and the rest of us being just…not perfect enough, they make some fine points, while missing the big picture. On Trump especially, they’ve investigated everything from his hair to his serious intent to run, specifically pointing out that NBC media execs are hoping he won’t run, putting on hold their very popular program “Celebrity Apprentice”. That fact becomes “Donald isn’t serious”. What if he is? He sounds about as serious as a heart attack, and as his stock has risen, he has actually appeared to push other competitive minded politico’s (ok one) out into the open – Sarah Palin.

An article in Investors Business Daily headlines “Palin Fresh Breeze in Wisconsin” and goes on to speak to her amazing speech that was given at a Tax Day “Tea Party” rally in Madison Wisconsin this past week, in the editorial she did nothing wrong and everything right – specifically when she called on the union workers rather than on the union bosses who, as one should be well aware, specifically study the art of “labor” at colleges and universities, in order to rack up a higher than average salary in order to “organize labor”. (See course of study at University of Massachusetts). The article compared her to Ronald Reagan, a first, and although IBD is not the Wall Street Journal or the New York Times, the fact remains, the article was not written by some anonymous blogger, or a “blog for Palin”. She has struck a very hopeful nerve. The Los Angeles Times went one step further comparing Palin’s Passover Wishes to President’ Obama’s, with, one has to read the article (see link) straight reporting. No kidding.

Enter “The Donald” – who is so well branded, he’s international in scope – Vanity Fair (read that twice) released an article: Despite NBC’s Reported Skepticism Donald Trump May Actually Run for President” They quote NBC executives, (Who better to know the inner workings of Trumps plans than those who stand to lose the most should he walk off the set of the final show and go directly to a press conference and announce he’s running for President?) by saying it’s “Donald being Donald” (Vanity Fair). Then they start go into specifics: as to the reality of a Trump campaign by pointing to who he is interviewing for specific posts for a Presidential Campaign.
From Vanity Fair:

On the other hand, Politico is not so sure this is not just a case of Donald Being Donald. In an article today, Ben “Who?” Smith and Maggie Haberman argue that Trump is “taking very concrete steps toward forming—and announcing—a presidential campaign.” In the past weeks, the Trump Organization C.E.O. has interviewed consultants and potential campaign managers, placed dutiful phone calls to religious gentlemen of outsize importance in Iowa and Florida, and summarily reversed a long-held belief—all behaviors characteristic of someone whose endgame is bigger than Sweeps Week. Plus, now he even has a slogan: Donald Being Donald … For America.

The author even got a swipe in at Politico, as if the blog is well, less than print worthy. The fact that Trumps and his Organization is interviewing (and vetting one can bet the house), campaign mangers and consultants for a run, speaks volumes. One can’t miss the sarcasm of the alleged slogan - that said, it was a fair article.

Finally, despite the hue and cry over a late start by the entire field of GOP candidates as well as the polls that show President Obama with an edge over “pick one”, the simple matter is that until 2007, announcements came as late as August, with those announcing later, going on to win the nomination. The trend towards early annulments and campaigns appeared with the 2007 Democrat campaigns, with President Bush ending his second term, the Democrats and Republicans pushed past the norm, and backed the actual debates and announcements up six to nine months eelier than the historical norm. The media and the politico’s apparently had something to gain – ratings for one, and something to write about, for two. Therefore, if Trump decides in June and Palin does as well, and Mike Huckabee throws his hat in the ring in July, it would be the norm for American Politics. Debates were previously held in Octobers of the year prior to the primaries. Let those that care to speculate, speculate (because it is vastly entertaining), and then, when these candidates are ready to announce, and they will do so, one is fairly sure, to the people not the media or ask permission of Karl Rove and Co. (Rove by the way, has downplayed both Palin and Trump, and anyone who does not fit the Rove Standard – mini-chalkboard and all –not that Rove isn’t a smart man, it is that Rove is part of that Beltway Inner Circle – which might prevent him from taking seriously anyone that is not – as in the case of both Trump and Palin – he also thought that Scott Brown in his race against Democrat Martha Coakley in the Massachusetts special election to fill a vacant senate seat, way back in 2009, was not terribly competitive, he spoke to the fact that Brown “might come close” this was a week before voters went to the polls – Brown, if one recalls, rode his pickup truck across the blue state, and spoke like – a regular guy.).

The regular guy effect (or gal) – it is something about people who resonate with the voters, and they do say things that, yes on the face of it, might appear outlandish, if one is not used to say a Queens accent or a Midwest transplant Alaskan accent – otherwise, those that are willing to overlook the fact that someone might not have the best degree, silver spoon, or criteria set forth by the elite corps, will most likely vote for the person who will get the job done, and has a track record of getting things done, as does the former Governor of Alaska and as does Donald Trump.
The problem facing American’s Therapists to the Elite at the moment is which syndrome they may have to treat – Palin Derangement and/or Trump Derangement!

Polls: Rasmussen Reports recently released a blistering poll on Trump versus Obama, digging into the vault on Trumps “favorability ratings from May 2007”, and comparing data from early March (before Trump was a twinkle (or thorn) in the eye of the establishment (for lack of a better word). In the scenario of the poll, if one looks at it on face value, the fact that Trump, yet to announce and only in the eye of the press for over one month (while speculation on other candidates has been taking place for six months at least (see Mid-terms in October of 2010 and the official starting point), Trump is merely 15 points behind Obama, who, incidentally does not break 50% of the vote. The final number pre announcement by anyone is Obama 49, Trump 34 – shades of Scott Brown and the Coakley poll produced by the Boston Globe back in January a week prior to the election.

Here’s this opinion – both Palin and Trump add excitement to the race, and a quality of can do attitude that will resonate with the public (and it already does). Both are qualified by virtue of the fact that they have actually run something, other than for office. They are both genuine articles, who relate to the regular guy, they sound just like the regular guy, and there is nothing that a million negative articles, YouTube video’s, toxic blogs, or academics looking to sell 15,000 copies of a bad book can do about it.

When the debates do roll around, if these two qualified and interesting individuals are on the stage, with the rest of the “yet to announce”, it will boost rating through the roof.

The nation will be glued as it needs to know who to vote for in the event this nation does not improve drastically in the next 6 months. By that: increasing and damaging inflation of food and fuel, the fact that the S&P is about to downgrade the US credit rating (which has far reaching consequences, global consequences), wars on three fronts, and the usual or unusual amount of assaults on the homeland by Mother Nature. (The later in reference to the recent devastation in the southern U.S. where the White House has no plans to even do a flyover as of this writing. Whereas one can imaging Palin in with both feet on the ground helping to rebuild (literally), and Trump insuring the that all was well by hiring the right people for the job, and actually showing up.)

It is what America needs now, a President who shows up – A President who isn’t’ so concerned with his chances for reelection that he endangers the economy while on the “stump”, a President who actually relates to the people, and does not lecture them. It is time for the “Joe or Jane American to step up and take the reins, and this is not to say that either Trump or Palin is either average, they are rather exceptional individuals who have the gumption and wherewithal to withstand the assaults made by a group of pantywaists that cannot see past their own importance, and make the tough decisions necessary to run a nation.

2012 GOP Presidential Contenders – Trump, Palin, Romney, Pawlenty and Huckabee - Media Analysis and Update

Trump in Good Company - Ronald Reagan Depicted as a Clown - image: publicly funded PBS.org

A Boston Herald article by Rachelle Cohen, entitled “No Trump-ing Obama”, notes that there are so many candidates and potential candidates for the GOP nomination, none of them attracting more than 19% of the total, that Obama should be pleased indeed and easily reelected. The logic belies the fact that out of the myriad field of contenders, only one, to date has announced an exploratory committee, one Mitt Romney. Additionally, what is of more import perhaps is that regardless of how one feels about any one of the “candidates”, at the least, they are taking time out of their lives to run for public office (or think about it, more to the point). What it does leave the nation with are choices, and as far as the media whining about not having a front runner this “late” in the game, are perhaps not familiar with the history of 2000, where major contenders did not announce until August, and the field was full, both Democrat and Republican. Although Al Gore was a given, due to the fact that he was the Vice President under Clinton, he still had challengers, and the simple fact is, having challengers helps the public to winnow out the chaff from the wheat so to speak.

Just follow the polls, the general public is already talking through them, and the fact is, they are split as no one has officially declared (exploratory committee is not a campaign committee). The same was true in early 2007 when politicians began to line up to run or be expected to run:
In 2007 the field of Democrats included: Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards, Bill Richardson, Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Dennis Kucinich, and Mike Gravel. The Republican field included: Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter. It was not until well after the first primaries in 2008 that front runners emerged on both sides and the race was off and running.

Understanding that Obama and Company (the Campaign, not the President per se), and the media, have intentional short memories, it is good to remind the lot of them that having 5 candidates a year before the first primary takes places results in numbers similar to those 19% leads currently held by 2012 GOP “potential candidates”.

That said, one cannot stress enough the fact that, those that run, do so out of conviction and love of country, they must, regardless of how many times someone calls an individual a myriad of insulting and most often misleading “names”, it remains reasonable that unless one wanted the job of overseeing the finances and well-being of this Great Nation, losing 10 years off one’s life in less than 2 years, and taking a ration of utter crap from the press, they would not be doing so for any “publicity stunt”, especially since, in viewing the field of GOP contenders, not one seems hard pressed for personal cash, fame and or the need to put up with the crazy people in the general media.

As it is the end of the week, it was important to point out the fact that the current crop of “potential candidates for the GOP” are doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing, getting the attention of “likely GOP voters”, and the press can write and report on the lack of front runners all they like, until such time as one of those running, pulls out with a majority in a poll conducted by any reasonable pollster, at the right time, the polls running now, are akin to taking a pulse on a patient that is literally in a coma, until they wake up and announce their intent to run officially. At that point, one can bet the house, those 19% leads will be, if the announced candidate is the choice of those voting with the GOP, multiplied by, at the least 60 percent, to the 30’s, and as the next one appears, those numbers will go up and down, until the debates, which, incidentally a decade ago, were held in October of the year prior to the election. One’s stock would rise upon winning the Iowa Caucus and or the New Hampshire Primary, or perhaps not until one has been though the winnowing field of South Carolina.

Meanwhile, Obama has recycled his Campaign from 2008, the price of gas is about to go to $5.00 and beyond, unemployment has not moved, the dollar is declining and inflation is on the rise, never mind key topics like the Health Care Bill that the majority of the public continues to rail against. Who’s zooming who? (Taking a line from the great Aretha Franklin.)

What are those that have a toe in the GOP Presidential Water up to this coming week?

The Donald, who is serious as a heart attack, will be in Florida at a Tea Party Rally in Boca Raton, with Congressional Representative Allen West Judging from emails received by this blog in unprecedented amounts over the past week, The Donald is running the gamut of approval by the entire spectrum of political strange bedfellows. An expert from one enthusiastic Bay Stater enthusiastically noted: “ I also believe The Donald will be our next President. He is starting to get the " Reagan treatment" by the press. He has already been depicted as a clown.” (See Cartoon of Reagan above from PBS).

Trump was to attend a small rally in Boca, which, once news got out that he was going to attend, turned into a much larger crowd, the event had to be moved in order to accommodate the increased interest in Trump. He is also set to announce his bid (according to a variety of reports) after or immediately following the final NBC Apprentice show, which, with Neilson checking heads, might give an indication of interest vis a vis ratings for Trump. On the Trump – Obama Birth Certificate Issue – it’s being overplayed by the press – so much so that the obvious vitriol towards Trump is helping, not hurting him. It is also a matter of fact that Trump is merely expressing an opinion, shared by many, that there might be more to the issue of the Presidents Constitutional Eligibility to hold the office. Therein lays the crux and the confusion. Although this blog advocates leaving that issue lay, the fact remains that the Constitution is clear on one fact, No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.” Therefore, there is a litmus test, so to speak. One cannot merely be a citizen, one must meet certain credentials. Of course, a great deal depends on how one views the Constitution, either as written in stone, or interpretive. Regardless, the right to question, is guaranteed by the First Amendment (the one upon which the Press relies). Trump is merely expressing an interest in the subject as well as defending the Constitutional rights of others to do the same. Good for him.

Sarah Palin, who has lost some of the limelight given the entrance of the Donald will be at a Tea Party rally in Madison Wisconsin, home of the stand-up to unions Governor Scott Walker, and now home to many transplanted SEIU paid personnel who are there to stand up for the rights of the people who pay their salaries (i.e. Wisconsin Public Employees). It should be interesting; those on the left apparently are planning a counter rally to the Tea Party.

Mitt Romney is faced with trouble in his own back yard - Massachusetts Conservatives (i.e. Libertarians, the rank and file Republicans and those who identify themselves as conservatives, aren’t throwing their support behind Mitt. Romney is not, apparently attending any Tea Party Rally in the Bay State, but his competition is:

Former Minnesota Govenor, Tim Pawlentywill be in Boston for the Tea Party Rally on tax day (April 15th), with a trip to New Hampshire planned.

Finally, the man who runs strongest in national polls (Gallup) (until recently – see tied with Trump), former Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee is takings some heat for his support of in-state tuition for those here in the nation not quite legally – his premise, children of illegal immigrants (which may mean these students are American Citizens, by the way), should be eligible for in-state tuition, as it would expand the tax base, as they would gain employment, rather than an EBT card. Although this logic drives the “right of right” insane, especially those in certain presidential candidate opposition camps, Huckabee has a point.

(Side Note: during a recent interview, Donald Trump noted that the border problems could be fixed, by putting our military on the border (agreed), and then deciding, on a case by case basis those illegally in the nation’s ability to stay or be deported – the criteria, productive, stay, criminal go. (Agreed!).

2012 GOP - Trump Surprises Wall Street Journal/NBC Latest Poll

The Wall Street Journal/NBC's latest GOP Poll shows Donald Trump within 4 points of former Massachusetts Governor and 2008 GOP Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney and tied with former Arkansas Govern er and 2008 GOP Presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee. The poll included likely GOP primary voters; with one interviewee suggesting Mr. Trump's competitiveness, despite the "jokes" about him personally, was his appeal to "regular" people.

An article posted earlier today from the International Business Times suggests that Trumps stance on business, as well as foreign policy, although appearing "risky", would make American "Respected" on the world stage, and improve the economy.

The question now is when Donald Trump will formally announce his candidacy. With both Congresswoman Michelle Bachman and former Governor Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney in the mix with Donald Trump, the network ratings for the GOP debates might reach historical proportions.
