Poll Watchers and the Military Ballots – Maintaining the Integrity of the Ballot Box in Massachusetts 2010 - Opinion

Acorn Voter Fraud Map - blog: ridgeline7

Living in Massachusetts, and one would suspect, any state of the union, every election cycle, there are charges of voter fraud, some of which turn out to be factual (as in the case of ACORN), and others are more of an ongoing joke (although no less true) where the dead vote, and cartoon characters are found attempting to cast their ballot outside of say Disney World. The end result is that citizen organizations have formed to “watch polls”.

If one is concerned that one political party or candidate and their campaign, are attempting to stuff the ballot box, then there is training available to become “poll watchers”. Why the need? Are not the polls guarded by local police? Not always. The case in Philadelphia, which was summarily dismissed by Attorney General Holder, had members of the Black Panther party clearly intimidating voters during the last election. ( Video Link here).

An organization in Massachusetts, Empower MA (http://empowerma.org), is holding training seminars on how to watch polls to ensure that voter fraud does not take place – Yes, in Massachusetts. A recently received mailer suggests that the institution in non-partisan, rather seeks to insure that newly elected officials have won the contest “fair and square”. An article in the Boston Globe, which appears to be a loose mélange of several different political happenings, Al Gore for example is the “headline act”) outlines the group and its plan to teach citizens how to spot voter fraud at the ballot box.

Is this specific to Massachusetts? Hardly, it spreads across the nation toCalifornia and has many a progressive group in an uproar, citing of course, voter intimidation by the “Tea Party”. Therefore, while one may have Acorn members watching Tea Party Members at polling stations, it servers the purpose of insuring that a vote in counted.

Unless of course, one is a member of the armed services, especially in Illinois, which state is tied for corruption in politics with Massachusetts (personal observation). Specifically the state of Illinois, where upwards to 2/3rd of all military ballots were not mailed in time, and there is a close battle for the Senate Seat previously held by Barack Obama. Other states have had “glitches” getting the military ballots out as well, including New York.
Citizens forming groups to protect the elections occurs when distrust of the political process, and where individuals (or groups) are known to have attempted to or achieved the goal of disrupting the political process (in the case of the military ballots, “human error” is in question). What is the worst thing that can possibly occur? Honest elections.

Therefore, with so many seats in the Congress up for grabs, and the power of one party about to be voted out of their control, this very lack of trust by citizen groups is telling. It goes to support the polls that show the nation’s growing distrust of the government and all things connected.

The Tea Party: Recently having attended a rally, those identifying themselves as Tea Party members in Massachusetts are affiliated with all parties, but the majority of those invested are the “unenrolled” or those who refuse to decline to be affiliated with any political party.

With nine Congressional Seats, as well as over a hundred state offices also on the ballot, it will be interesting to see the outcome – it is not that one party would win over the other, it is that the candidate that does win a particular state or federal seat, can be sure they won that seat with “fair and square”.

Perhaps, this development of those groups that watch the polls goes to the fact that the two-party system, which was feared by our founding fathers with good reason and foresight, does stir passions and yes, greed, and the need to “take a short-cut” to reach ones goals and protect, not the citizens, but the party makes it imperative that a third party rise, or even a fourth equitable party, that would allow for more constitutionally balanced elections. Utopian ideal perhaps, however, the option of a Democrat Party, a Republican Party, a Tea Party and a Progressive Democrat Party, would allow more choice, and insure a voice for every citizen.

ACORN – Internal Email – Lawyers Suggested Fix, ACORN kept status quo - The General Election 2008 – Worked with Obama Campaign

Acorn Workers Protesting on Behalf of Bigger Government - image: realbarackobama.wordpress.com

An exclusive at Big Government.com entitled “ACORN legal memo confirms Depths of Troubles” (The full article is at American Spectator reveals the contents of a faxed email and delves into the aspects of the organizations problems – a copy of which is shown below. What is of concern - an organization, that has had its hands in our government (from voter registration, to mortgages (see Barney Frank), to relationships with the International Revenue Services (now severed), and is poised to receive additional grants through the Obama administrations Stimulus program) chose to continue, against the advice of its own legal counsel, to thumb its nose at the law.

What is even more disturbing is the relationship between this particular organization and our last general election. One may recall that then candidate Obama’s campaign had hired ACORN < ahref=” http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/election/s_584284.html”> (Pittsburgh Tribune) or, as the campaign noted “one of the (many) offshoots” to “get out the vote” to the tune of $800,000 (chump change for that particular campaign, which is still operational). This was largely ignored or "pooh-poohed" by both the campaign and the press. The New York Times even admitted to "killing" the story during the campaign (click here for full article).

It is not so much that everyone involved in the organization is particularly guilty of voter fraud, or a host of other methods of cheating the government that funds them, it is that the organization was rotten from the top down, and apparently, chose to ignore the advice – therefore making everyone involved suspect. One has to question, how this was allowed to continue, if it were not for protection of some sort – additionally the organization is akin to Enron and similar corporations that blatantly defrauded the citizens and the government (same) therefore, those at the top, should face the same penalties as the infamous Ken Lay. The document is shown below – it is stunning.

Acorn Voter Fraud - 2004 Revisited with a Vengeance

Voter fraud is nothing new – one must understand that ballot stuffing has been happening at least since Tammany Hall; it is the way of the Republic in which we live. When a group or an individual finds themselves in a situation where they feel that their position and/or candidate are critical to the nations survival, they will do whatever it takes in order reach their objective.
Actions can range from registering individuals who are deceased,
trolling for votes in nursing homes and generally breaking laws and the bounds of decency as they go on their merry way. Normally, this type of political maneuvering is confined to districts and wards; however, this election cycle it is rampant, from the ward to Jennifer Brunner, the Secretary of State of Ohio.

Ohio, a must-win state for both major political parties, has had more than a few problems with voter fraud this election cycle. Acorn, a non-profit organization that has its fingers in the mortgage industry (Fannie and Freddie), voter registration and a lobbyist group, has been making local news in several states, but Ohio is the biggest threat to all voters. There are problems in every district of Ohio, multiple registrations and other anomalies have been taking place (most media outlets use alleged, regardless of the fact that there are multiple videos available outlining including one man who testified to registering multiple times Video Here Brunner, a Democrat, had been issued an order by US District Court Judge, George C Smith, to verify newly registered voters and to assist county commissions in this process, she declined and brought it to a Federal Appeals Court, which overturned the judges ruling. One has to wonder why, with all of the attention focused on Voter Fraud (with the exception of the major media outlets), that Brunner would seek to avoid certifying voters in every single district if the allegations against ACORN were false? One would have to believe that Brunner, in blind partisanship, has abused her position in order to push an agenda, or Brunner honestly believes that ACORN is doing a great job in turning out the vote, even if it means that some of those registered are dead and buried, or live in Chicago (Illinois). What might boggle the mind is that the Federal Appeals Court aided and abetted Brunner – that said, Courts are made up of judges who often side with a party or agenda rather than with the people (California 9th District Court, Massachusetts Supreme Court, the Connecticut Supreme Court). This has been said of the Supreme Court’s decision in the 2000 election – where Al Gore, of all people, asked the Court to decide and was not pleased with the decision. Go figure. Should American’s been scandalized and feel that their votes are being “stolen” by Brunner and ACORN –absolutely – but will it matter?

This is the most likely scenario – in every state, especially Ohio, where voter fraud has been confirmed (or as the press implies alleged), there is an opportunity to request a re-count, send in the lawyers and basically prolong the result of the election for several months; especially if the results appeared skewed (this can go to either political party). How likely is this to happen? A lot will depend upon the make-up of the electorate, if it has changed in the course of four years, or if it has pretty much stayed the same. One has to understand that the polls, the division, the bias on both sides, is a mirror of 2004, additionally, the voter demographics have not changed – therefore, the outcome should be similar – in that the race will certainly be tight – right up to the last week, barring any October Surprise (and Troopergate is not an October Surprise – an October Surprise defeats the base, and the Republican Base is energized). As of the moment, the only poll that would be of interest would ask the following question: Are you voting for President at all – not, which party are you, and how likely are you to vote, but specifically will you vote for the office of President. Those in both parties, who feel strongly about the presidency, and feel they cannot support the person running for president, will be drawing a line, voting for neither McCain or Obama, but addressing any state offices and resolutions on the ballot. Should the number of individuals not voting be substantial, depending upon the party, ACORNs efforts will have been, once again, for naught.
